Soviet canvas belt with original star buckle & black stripy telnyashka top - £28.13 delivered from Army and Outdoors on Amazon - Black is the soviet marines colour. To be faithful to my VDV camo I should have bought a sky blue telnyashka, but I'll get more wear out of black and I have a cunning plan for the loadout anyway -

So the bloke I was buying an LCT AKM, GP30, CO2 Charger, & Moscart from pulled out - grrrrrrr! Can't blame him much though; his reason is that he's decided to get back into airsoft I bought a 247mm x 6.02mm TBB for my Krinkov ~ £23.01 inc P&P fleabay -
M900. Better. Everything? My dick... Not much of a compliment to my main squeeze!

Ah now that's a function I would have cheerfully shelled out the extra for, had I known beforehand I'd be without it. Posty just arrived with a British Army Flack Vest in DPM for me, with the kevlar but only one ceramic plate - which is for sale if anyone wants it cos i already have two. -

Ah, the same as the ACM C8 knockoff i have then, but prettier. Does yours work the modes in sequence, so you have no option but to cycle through them for the one you want? -
Goes to show what i know lol! But yeah, i did sorta think it was a shade more grass green than sage green...

Just ordered a sorbo pad kit for V2/V3 gearboxes - £12.40 inc P&P from Midas Airsoft - having not got around to putting my LPE airbrake piston head in Sabine, my AK, and with a fat suppressor on Jetta, my G36, I decided to go the whole hog... -
Independant Fan Site "Bluestone 42 is a series about a bunch of soldiers who love being soldiers and the camaraderie, bonds and banter they share, even though they are risking their lives defusing hidden bombs." Anybody else see it? I thought it was pretty reliant on some standard army stereotypes but funny anyway. Plus a great opportunity for discussions about the in/correctness of gear/procedures etc. MTP uniform, DDPM helmet cover, tan scrim, black improvised looking helmet band... early days, right? Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... up to date looking L85A2's ??? Come on, get your gear-nerd on. You know you want to!

Gordon Bennet, yeah! When I bought my S10 respirator it came with a couple of bits of NBC warfare kit - so I had to get the rest of it, including the field manual "Survive To Fight". Why? Well, I spose I'll last 10mins longer than most of the genpop if we ever get nerve gassed I've got a working radiation detector and reader on my radar still - I've got one of the watch type, but that needs a big machine to be read - the pencil type is affordable and easily portable... I'm planning on a Battlestar Galactica OD BDU loadout too... it's Katee Sackhoff, even though she is blonde, I love her kickass alter ego Actually I wanted to get this watch too: but it's at £47.02 + £3.99 P&P already with 16hrs left to go -

Well, I'm a bit of a watch-o-phile. Not for the expensive makes though - for eg I once had a fake Rolex with a second hand so smooth that you needed a magnifying glass to tell it from a real one. I could have afforded a real one at the time, but it tickles me that somebody would have to pay more to get their Rolex cleaned than I did to buy something which to all intents and purposes was equally as good, or that for a fiver delivered you can get a watch from Hong Kong with exactly the same quartz movement as in £150 high street "designer*" label watches. Or indeed this - the hugely successful 2612 movement. Can you imagine what you would have to pay for the same excellent functionality made in Switzerland? LOL! Having said that, I'm also a lighter-o-phile, so I expect I'll want one to match sooner or later... and there's a few bits of memorabilia that would go nicely alongside my real steel AK cleaning kit... such as genuine KGB ID * major LOL! -

Does that torch have various modes, Juni0r? I just bought this 70's vintage Soviet Poljot (Flight) watch for my CCCP loadout: 18 Jewel mechanical alarm movement - it's a bit trashed but apparently works fine $37 inc P&P from Ukraine There are a few with this movement available, some in a lot better cosmetic condition for only a few USD more, but I like the colour of the face on this one and it will go nicely with my slightly ratty looking VDV camouflage. -
I like carrying lotsa toys - and the weight makes for more of a workout per step! But it's mainly about the toys - I've got a speedloader shaped like an IR strobe / @least twice the size of a pistol mag sized one and it holds about the same number of BB's lol! TBH, for pretty much most scenarios, I could cut my loadout down to just eyepro, boots, BDU, knee pads, gloves, AEG & 1 spare hicap in a pocket, without compromising my effectiveness. Add elbow pads and a 2nd spare hicap and that's every scenario covered.

Yeah mate, see the thing with me is i grew up in the 70's and, truthfully, i doubt you'd believe how uninterested the average parent was in preventing their children, especially boys, from getting injured. I'm not exaggerating for comic effect, seriously i remember overhearing one of my mum's friends commenting that her son also wanted to wear jeans instead of shorts (as i'd requested - they were gossing later) and she said no, what would be the point? They'd only have holes in the knees straight away and they'd have to be washed every time they were worn to get the blood stains out. You might imagine that this would have led to us being cautious, but exactly the opposite was the case. I expect that my parents would have been investigated by social services these days, even if we were just counting the number of hospital attendances which legitimately had nothing to do with wounds sustained as a result of adult violence (which, you must understand, was a lot more prevalent and acceptable than now). The trouble is that when i'm airsofting a large part of my psyche seems to revert back to childhood game mode... which I believe is doing my head all kinds of good, it's just that my body is not just 44, the years in between have seen some hard usage... Skirmishing quite often puts me in bed for a day or three afterwards, due to aggravating injuries which i medicate into numbness in order to participate in the first place lol, but my liver just can't sustain that degree of poisoning on a daily basis - if I didn't use pads i couldn't throw myself around with anything approaching the carefree abandon i enjoy, well, without fooking myself up anyway. I'm not going to do the usual "kids these days...", i think it goes to show that we, as a generation, did remarkably well at spotting the faults of our parents when we were repeating them and as a result civilisation has jumped by an order of magnitude, that today's youth aren't typically brutalised to the point of not only accepting needless injury but adopting the tried and tested emotional coping strategy of turning a necessity into a virtue. When i see a young airsofter wearing both pads on their knees and with elbow pads and full finger gloves, i think "there's a kid who intends to have some fun and knows how to go about it!" - makes me smile. Edit to add: lol i hadn't intended a long waffle, i mainly meant to reply that u should check out Ronnie Sunshine's on fleabay - they are having a clearance sale of Magnum Panther 8's

Welcome to the forum, Ragemelon. I think you've got a point about the hoodie... except it must be too hot to skirmish in. Love the scrim; is it an actual scarf or a piece of load net? (again too hot for running around in, mind u). Oh and edit: it's good to see somebody else who starts out taking their knees and elbows seriously! My advice - take protecting your feet equally seriously - get waterproof military boots.
-
Yeah, that's not good for a sniper - but i was more concerned with how nasty it looks next to ur loadout. The reason I suggest using a bag made to fit your gun exactly, like a skin almost, is because you could use velcro to close it and open it. That way it would come off easily so that when you're not skirmishing with it you'll have no problems with it being a modified RIF. I don't know if sniper tape even comes in flecktarn, but the stuff which is just like a crepe bandage doesn't cover a gun well enough to hide that hideous lime green and the sticky stuff is far too expensive to use fresh every time. Actually sticky woodland camouflage sniper tape is a bit crap for colours too - the light green especially doesn't look like any shade of foliage i've ever seen in a temperate woodland lol! A greenhouse of exotic orchids perhaps, or maybe it's supposed to blend in against a seam of malachite poking out of boulders in some woods! If you keep an eye on fleabay you should be able to get a size 7585/0005 flecktarn shirt for about a fiver inc P&P - one sleeve is almost exactly what you need. Can you sew? Come to think of it, I've got a spare German shirt in the cupboard and a 'kin sewing machine. If you want me to do one for you, PM me as I'll need some measurements.

Oh yeah, Ed, I didn't notice that! What a donkey! @Craig - funny I'm not sure I'm going to keep the trades - the plan was to have a suppressor that disappeared into the RIS and looked like it was integral to the barrel, like an MP5 SD6. I've decided on a Tanio Koba Hop Twist inner barrel, because I want to keep it under 350FPS for CQB an pussy-sites, and get the best range & accuracy I can from that. Ed is selling me his 509mm TK so I needed a 260mm x 40mm suppressor - this was the only one I could find in stock (my 1st choice was plain & intended for KWA Mac11 but probably no longer available). I spose the easy-grip surface gives it away as an aftermarket addition though, so maybe I will leave the trades - not sure of the paint job yet, but it will definitely be mainly, if not all, greys so perhaps they could stay without looking deliberately poseurish (ie arsewankingly cringeworthy) - I'd prefer it if that milled/etched/whatever surface either ended in line with the RIS, as you say, or better yet extended the whole way down, but that's life *sigh* - before/instead of paint I might try some kind of textured tape, bike handlebar grip tape maybe or even skateboard grip tape. I don't mind the standard G36 foldible stock, but I wanted one that could fit a larger battery than you can get in the hand guard and, for it to be properly comfortable, I needed adjustable - it comes with 4 positions but I added 1 between the longest 2 and now it fits me perfectly. They way I've got that '4 point' sling attached means that when it hangs across my chest, even completely loose, raising it automatically puts the butt to my shoulder, raised a little more and it's in my natural firing position, without me having to deliberately shoulder the rifle. That's another reason why I feel confident that the 551 will work well, because my shoulders are quite broad and my neck is quite long (judging by how much I need to bend it to use things designed for 'the norm') so my natural firing position puts my head higher up than someone who can easily rest their cheek against the stock. It may look a bit boxy, although I think that the K length RIS and 260mm suppressor, rather than C length & 220mm which I had first planned on, ameliorate that, but truth to tell I don't care. My intention with this build has always been to design a NATO gun which would suit my body and skirmish style as exactly as possible first and only then consider the aesthetics. That's why I decided that the H&K intended red dot sight wouldn't work, because it has a very small window. The integral 3x sight is quite small too, but I can use it without having to lean my head forward so far that it's uncomfortable, but I do have to consciously position my head. I'm hoping that I'll be able to see through the 551 with my head exactly where my neck is most comfortable. Thanks for the info on the EOLAD, Craig. @Nickona - yeah, on "American Guns" or "Sons of Guns", I forget which is which - the Red Jacket shop, they had to fabricate a piccatinny rail mount for a modern Masterkey type project. I really hope that I don't have to build what I want completely - I don't currently have the 'kin tools, and though I want to replace them & get more, currently it's all about cash
-
No Tariq, it attaches to rail & barrel: Courtesy of Armoury Tech Do you mean suppressors on G36's in general, Craig, or just this one? What's wrong with them/it? That's just the faux gas block and the pressure switch cable for the torch, but yeah, mounting a laser inside a RIS is a damn good idea - not for this build though. The 551 replica I'm planning on has a laser module attached to the left side of it, although I'm not actually sure that it can accept a pressure switch, which is a definite necessity for a laser IMO, so I might end up coming back to your idea...
-
Thanks for that, ED. The G&P kit might be useful if I do have to build something completely custom. Re: G36 rails, I know what you mean, but I think it will be fine. It came with a low rail with flip up pin hole sights, so if it does prove unwieldy I can swap back. As it happens the reticle on the scope is difficult to see against dark backgrounds, so I may need to find another make with an illuminated scope, if they exist.

Well, my suppressor arrived today, so lets see how you feel about my 'Urban Combat Varient' G36... - work in progress mind ppl - still needs a lightweight aluminium vertical foregrip - an EOTECH 551 w/ EOLAD Laser module & Flashkill - a "Masterkey" type underslung pump shotgun (if possible - i might have to make one because a. i can't find one being manufactured and b. i want it to fire mini moscarts or tri-shot @least - maybe one of those Goblin thingies can serve as a starting place???) - i may go ahead and get a nade launcher anyway, rather than as a substitute for a shotty - the one i want can be stand alone or mounted - i've also got a NV project in mind for longterm which will require a modified PEQ16 replica (or a real one lol) Anyway, without further adodo, I present Jetta: All Images Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Looking good, ZDM. Shame about the 2-tone. Have you considered making a flecktarn bag that fits exactly over your rifle's furniture and velcros tight?
-
Ronnie Sunshine's have 2 pairs of size 10 Magnum Panther 8.0's left - coincidence or spooky? You decide... [cue X Files Theme] 50 notes - best price I've seen for ordinary sizes brand new I was thinking of getting some myself but my spare money is done for the time being.

What size feet have you got, Cap'n?
-
Yeah, I like it too, Cpn. DA. I think the vest looks a bit big on you though - is it already adjusted as tight as it gets? Also, strictly for posing, you might try wearing what these days is called a "headover" by some companies, ie a tube of T-shirt material, in black, around your neck - it'll get too hot during skirmishes but the complete covering will look the dog's bollocks - they are pretty good instead of a scarf you might wear ordinarily too mind you. I'd go with boots as high as you can get with those kecks tucked into them. I always recommend German Para Boots, because they are indestructible, but they're not gentle on feet that are used to trainers. You might want to check Ronnie Sunshine's on fleabay because they're having a clearance sale on Magnum Panther 8.0's.
