  1. Palco Firepower (USP) Co2 Airsoft Pistol - I include the link because it's £35. OK NBB & plastic, but 350 +/- 5% & CO2 capsules. I mean, how sh!t could it actually be and still fire @350fps? Madbull Hop rubber (Clear + Black) - to replace the ones which have apparently been returned to sender in HK & since I was ordering from Action Hobbies anyway, it seemed like a good idea since I want the new rubbers in my guns in good time for a night game on 18th and NAE12 on 24th. 25 x Umarex 12g CO2 cartridges - for the pistol
  2. I thought about it and my first instinct was not to use lube on a thread because it would make it come undone just as much as it helps make it tighten but, if it's really stiff, that shouldn't matter. I'd go for it - if you have some use Teflon gearbox grease (I could go into the science of why polytetraflouroethane is so good, but I think everyone gets it that Teflon is PTFE and it's the most slippery substance so far encountered on earth.). Otherwise some other grease rather than oil, because it will stay where you put it.
  3. some 4mm x 16mm hex bolts 1 for my new AK fire selector, another to replace one that dropped out of the stock of my L1A1 SLR and spares. 4mm washers. 4mm shakeproof star washers. Hi Viz ultra reflective white tape to make helmet bands. Another pair of '95 pattern DPM combat kecks - my old ones have a repair that's getting close to done. 100mm x 190mm field dressing - you just never know and it was really cheap. Prometheus 110 spring - to give me more options with my AK + it was cheap. British Army 5 mag bandolier - I think there are times when I don't need to wear a vest but I still need to carry mags... Motorola TLKR T4 radios - they're the cheapest I could find that have the minimum requirements for airsoft and a reasonable reputation. 2 x Large Flameless Ration Heaters - for NAE12 - These are massive so they should do more than just a 300g MRE, which, let's face it, isn't much of a scoff when you've been running around... My Kanzen bearings arrived today too and, after a quick test in a spare gearbox, they seem really, I mean REALLY, good. Also discovered that my parcel from UNCompany that I was expecting around now has been returned to sender, according to the HK post office tracking info, but then I also found a card from RM when I got in this evening saying I had a parcel that I had to pay £1.09 to get delivered, so maybe that's it...
  4. @Wo1f: I wanted copper shims because it's softer than steel so if it rubs against the harder metal, it will get "filed down" by the micro-crystaline structure of the metal it rubs against which ought to leave a very flat and low friction interface between them. Ideally I would like 12 copper shims so that both sides of whatever thickness of shimming is needed for each side of each gear would be copper, but I'll just have to make do with 10 for now and, as you say, thick Teflon grease.
  5. Hold ur horses: this seller is way cheaper!
  6. MTP Cover with OD rubber just to look at MTP Cover with Tan rubber just to look at. Buy from this bloke = cheapest. Here's a page showing a few different types of cat's eye bands & helmet tackle The ones I will make will be mainly OD 20mm webbing, with a web-tex elastic strip at the back to keep it tight, with 2 sections of white hi viz reflective tape, 3 patches of OD velcro loop at the back, 1 loose section of OD webbing with 3 sections of velcro hooks to stick on covering the cat's eyes and 2 elastic loops which I could leave loose or stitch to 1 side or the other of the band.
  7. Here you go, Ed. This is what your MTP Cover will look like with the scrim I've made for you and my rubber. I expect you'll get a tan rubber? Anyway, I'm going to make a cat's eye for rear recognition strap for mine, but I'm going to also add elastic loops on the right side for a torch and also a piece of strap that will velcro over the cat's eyes to cover them up easily. It will be OD coloured. I've got just enough elastic to make another I think, so do you want one for £5? Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  8. Yeah, I've ordered some Kanzen 7mm bearings too from WGC = $19. Where did you go/how much? I went with Teflon grease my last HK order too and would have gone for CNC gears (hadn't decided on make) but just got some 2nd hand Prometheus and Systema. What made you choose Guarder shims? I chose SHS because some of them are copper, although I've since also ordered some Systema shims because I need more thickness from them in 2 gearboxes (because I was ordering something more expensive and that shop didn't do SHS ones so I got Systema because they're supposed to be the dog's - we shall see). I'm asking this because I think this thread could be a lot more useful if we pick each others' brains...
  9. Er... Uploaded with ImageShack.us ...not by a long chalk, mate! I was going to claim that dubious honour myself, but I've just remembered that Finius has got a poxy little springer pistol and someone has a pic up of themselves with a water pistol in their belt as a back up weapon!
  10. Thanks mate. I got one of those patches as an unexpected free gift too, from airsoftclub in HK. The whole order was only £12-odd inc. P&P! Times is hard though, so it's off to the Classifieds I go to offer it for sale...
  11. I received one of these as an unexpected free gift when I ordered a bunch of stuff and I'm a lot more impressed with it than I thought I would be at first sight. That might be because I don't bother with any of the fancy ways of wearing it, but basically it's very comfortable neck wear without any trailing ends to get caught or tangled up on slings/webbing/bushes/etc. Personally I'd say it's still too warm to wear anything around my neck while skirmishing, even a top button done up, and I reckon the chance of a painful bleeder on the throat is worth it when balanced against the chance of a heart attack from heat stroke! BTW, Chris, how much did those Union Jack patches cost you?
  12. Your loadout looks so badass, Chris, I really wish you were coming to NAE12 with the AF-UK squad!
  13. Looking good, Jae. Ever been shot in the hand? Unless you come across something gucci @a price that's too good to miss 2nd hand, like these but cheaper, I'd recommend a pair of this type of armoured gloves. The only thing wrong with them is that the inner side isn't waterproof or completely impervious to thorns.
  14. Yeah, I vaguely noticed & Billy too. His I did notice enough to ponder - a lone patch in a wide sea of velcro admin panel, or was that yours? Now I try to remember through the mist of more painkillers, the memory doesn't seem at all attached to a face lol! I think he needs a morale patch to keep it company, or a call sign patch, maybe even a full zap patch, since you two are going strickly modern. His should have his bloodgroup and then underneath: "HK" "8111" Yours: "EH" "2820"
  15. Looking good, Ed. You know what you need though, eh? Here's me today, suffering from the lack of my beautiful Sabine - despite a gearbox strip & rebuild in the field, she refused to fire often at her full potential and was wildly inconsistent - I suspect the air nozzle, but we shall see. Check out my semi-scowl... Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  16. The bloke who runs the airsoft shop @Matlock Combat Games, Mitch, sometimes comes to Skirmish Airsoft - he seems like a good bloke.
  17. 2 x Prometheus & 1 x Systema Gearsets Burst Wizard Mosfet
  18. A Component-Shop 8.4V 1600mAh mini stick NiMh battery for my AK. Kanzen 7mm AEG Bearings (Universal / Classic), for my AK also.
  19. A LCT PK-33 style AK Fire Selector and an AK Steel Ejection Port Cover with Stell Charging Handle. The former should make switching down to semi-auto slightly easier, but it will make flicking back up to full-auto much easier and thus quicker; the latter just looks nasty
  20. But this isn't far off... Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  21. As far as I know it's not the plate carrier it's illegal to have, it's the Level 4 Plates that go inside it. I'm not even sure they are illegal to own, it might be just that they are illegal to sell to a civvie. I did see a PC with Level 4 plates for sale on eBay not long ago though, so I/we may be completely wrong, or maybe the person was breaking the law and nobody cared/noticed/knew exactly what the law is so didn't make a fuss... maybe the seller was lying about what it was... who knows? LOL, I've just done a quick search on eBay and came up with 3 sellers advertising Level 4 ballistic plates - goes to show what I know, eh!?!
  22. My loadout isn't spot on but it's more NI soldier than anything else, and I'll be carrying an SLR too... And this bit is the least authentic Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  23. Yeah, you have my sympathy It turned out that the MK 6 helmet visor I bought is "Anti-Mine" - it says so printed right on the top left hand corner of the thing. So far I haven't taken a V2 gearbox apart. Do you lot reckon it's more difficult to get back together than a V3?
  24. I was going on about my beret t'other day. It's quite posh - made by The Small Crown Beret Co. - and, counterintuitively, part of my urban terrorist loadout: Here you can see the gaffer tape holding a small piece of dense PU foam that stops the pin-post grip fasteners from digging into my head and the stitches at the side which hold the shape of the beret in lieu of wearing it so often that it takes the military shape, rather than the Frank Spencer look on its' own! Here's a close up of the cap badge which is a Screen Accurate Battlestar Galactica Viper Pilot Wing Uniform Pin Badge. I chose it because I think it looks cool and I don't want to wear real world regimental badges that I'm not entitled to. Plus this type of beret has a leather insert, to attach cap badges to, which makes the beret sit up there so it'd just look wrong without some kind of badge! The whole beret: With some terrorist chic: And bigger weapons: Suicide bomber cryptic message pic: Male 44 5'10" Single GSOH Kalashnikov seeks... Uploaded with ImageShack.us It's soon going to get a makeover with a Bulgarian Red Star ex_Soviet era Ushanka badge.
