Played at Survival yesterday. Combination of weather and recent road closures which had only just been re opened kept numbers down . About 28 of us, but what a great day ! . Now i Iove low number days 'cos it's way more tactical , add in a decent number of first timers and no snipers and it was bloody great. 
The rental guys all got stuck in and played well. Proper hit calling all round and fair play from everyone. We wone the first 3 games, and although we did probably work better as a team, the other team never gave up , none of that 'we're going to lose so meh' attitde, they kept coming right till game over. 
 
Pacey games using only part of the field each time , teritory game, raise / lower the flag in the village and get the barrel from the centre start point as close to the other teams HQ as poss. That one involved running into a hail of BBs !
 
Game 4 was interesting . I was made team leader (probably based on age 😂) and got to pick 4 other guys. We then had to rescue a casualty ( manakin on a stretcher) from the medic station and get him back to our start point. Other team of everyone else were already spread out covering th earea when we started. We seriously didn't think we'd do it, the casualty was so well covered, but a concerted push just before the end got him out with 2 of our guys running him back up the hill to base . 
 
At that stage i was completely soaked as it had rained pretty steadily most of the day and various body parts were complaining, so I called it a day. 
 
Ran my L119 A2 and G3 GBBR's , they both got stashed in the airing cupboard over night to dry them off before a strip and clean today.

These are my cases:
most of them use shadow foam.
however I found a company called max case that do factory fitted generic laser cut foam. So that’s where all my short mags go!

Posted on there instead, I’ll leave this one as I can’t close it down or delete it.

I was looking through the forum and I haven’t seen a thread dedicated to people’s kit bags or cases.
 
Personally all of my stuff if organised into several Nuprol cases, Peli cases, max cases.

Recently shadow foam have been doing a purple foam which looks quite nice 😁
 
My magazine case is a max case with laser cut inserts (comes like this from factory so it’s fairly cheap).
 

Pleased to say I got very good service from them and saved £15 on a magazine compared to U.K. based dealers.

Haha, I probably won't be bringing the cape and boonie setup that I usually run because I don't have a way to run both earpro and comms with my ghillie boonie (I can do one or the other, but not both ), so I'll probably just bring a cobra hood and a cap to AI500, but that's part of the reason I'm sniping; I'll be taking it pretty easy, just taking up overwatch positions either in buildings or covering buildings and leaving the CQB to my team mates. I'm good to start exercising again from Monday, so I'll be fine for AI500; I'll just still be on blood thinners until then and my local site is covered in brambles that just love to slice me to pieces so I'm not playing until I'm off the blood thinners next month, but I'm back to swimming from Monday so I'll be more than able to play at AI500 from a fitness perspective.
 
Original plan was to do the MWS + SRS + pistol setup for AI500, but as it's going to be my first game back, I'm going lightweight so I'm just bringing two bolt actions and two pistols (one to use, one as a backup) and playing passive. I think it's the more sensible approach

New gun acquired and will be taking it to AI500 at Anzio next month (which will be my first game since my heart surgery). Still waiting on the suppressor, but apparently should have that in 2 or 3 weeks time as Jason at Longbow is waiting for a shipment to get through customs and should have it soon. Setup is:

- Maple Leaf MR 60d bucking
- PDI 6.08 420mm stainless steel barrel

- Magpul MS4 sling
- Still waiting on the Silverback DTSS .308 suppressor  
 
Going to fine tune it on Sunday by setting the hop up properly and using some Rapax spring spacers to fine tune the power, but with the hop set probably more than I'll really need, it was chronoing consistently at 2.05J on .48s in my room when I chrono'd into a bag.
 
Later down the line when I'm properly back into playing, I'm going to try using it slung on my back when I'm running around with my short MWS. Use the MWS as I'm moving about, pull out the SRS once I get into a good position. Weight isn't so much of a factor for me (it's definitely heavier than my VSR), what I really wanted was something short that isn't going to smack into trees and stuff, so hopefully this'll fit the bill for what I want to use it for. If not, it'll be a good bolt action for winter because my green gas m700s are a bit crap when it gets really cold.

Quick update, I fixed the AEP gearbox and cleaned the factory earwax grease out. I don't hold much appreciation for the engineer that designed the gearbox, as it was quite a nightmare to reassemble. With a fully charged 7.4v and barrel installed, I think it sounds rather nice for an AEP. 
 

 
 
A quick shooting test gave me an indication that it should give surprisingly decent range with 0.25 or 0.28 BBs. I suspect the soft foam "nub" is causing inconsistent hop to be applied, so I'll be modifying the arm to accept an omega or H-nub tomorrow. Hoping it's not an air-seal problem.
