Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?

Oh god! I assumed the spot checks were an addition. How does their liability insurance cover them? -
Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?

I must have had a brainfart. Can you qualify or describe how a random chrono test and weight verification of ammo presents a safety risk? It may be a logistical pain but I fail to see how the test risks safety. -
People who get defensive when asked if a gun they're selling is a resprayed two-tone when the paint looks too glossy or like satin compared to the actual black parts of the gun or you can see red, green or blue streaks but they don't disclose it in the listing. Just about any deceitful behaviour to try and inflate the value of something above what it's worth and not having the balls to come clean, especially when you're preying on the ignorance of others who don't think to spot these things.

That reminds me of someone recently wanting a response to fill his echo chamber with the notion that an AEP was a good choice. I don't think he was impressed with the consensus that AEPs are hugely underwhelming in performance to a point they're not even worth being a sidearm nor do I think he liked being told AEPs in fact do have running costs, contrary to the narrative he'd sold himself.

Apart from many of those mentioned, people who lack the courtesy to respond to communications, even when there's a read receipt really grind my gears

From recent experience, that claim about selling/buying is inaccurate. With the boot sales at Shift Your RIFTs, the organisers said in no uncertain terms that private sellers have a responsibility to ensure that buyers have a valid defence to buy a RIF as the event was open to any Tom, Dick or Harry who may have sinister intentions and not just regular airsofters or novices looking to play on a regular basis. As Tackle & Rogerborg said, while checking a defence with private sales is in the minority of cases in practice and it's seldom enforced at a retail or private level when the RIF is already in the UK, shouting about your claims doesn't make them correct. The litmus test of your claim is that if enforcement of defence checking happened overnight, you'd find a lot of private sellers could be prosecuted no matter how much you shout that a defence is "not needed".

Yes, totally agreed with spot checking. Especially with the transition from a cool morning to a warm/hot afternoon, I have seen some GBBR users go above the limit in the spot check despite passing the chrono test. There was one HPA user who gave a marshal a bit of grief over being asked to ensure his regulator was locked when the marshal noticed it hadn't been after passing him on the test. -
I can't think why you can't run a LiPo as long as it's a 7.4V. You can run 11.1V on an AEG without a MOSFET/ETU though you run a higher risk (not a guarantee) of needing to rebuild or service your gun more regularly. I use a LiPo exclusively on one of my 20+ year old AEGs that doesn't have a MOSFET/ETU since its NiMh batteries lost most of their charging capacity years ago. Personally, I recommend LiPo over NiMH every time as long as you use a balance charger and keep an eye on your batteries when they're charging.

Whether you think it's good or bad, sites will test to what their insurers require of them. Your proposed chrono test can still be cheated by players testing with X weight ammo but playing with a heavier weight where joule creep would fail the test. There's no logistically fool-proof test so trust is a key part of the process. If the chrono test passes a player who then gets caught in play above the joule limit, that liability is on the player as they can be prosecuted for assault with a hot weapon. -
Yeah, I agree. It's just something more to go wrong and not much information is given about it either.

Used batteries are minefield to price because of the lost charge capacity and, especially with LiPos, their safety. I'd say £35 to £40 is the ball park. I'm not sure what ParcelForce would charge for shipping but that may be your only option as most other couriers won't ship LiPo batteries on their own for non-business accounts.

It looks like the try-hard chancer smoked crack and bumped up an already ludicrous price. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/dpd-aeg-bundle-and-nuprol-hard-case-lightly-used_i80377

Utter waste of two decent GBBRs. Even with the pistol, I wouldn't run 0.2s through it unless maybe I was in CQB.

Welcome back! I was away from airsoft for a long time before returning to it. The use of LiPo batteries and MOSFETs was part of the culture shock of returning but I haven't used anything other than LiPos in my AEGs in the past couple of years.

https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/38913-dpd-aeg-bundle That has to be the most expensive Nuprol AEG I've seen. The case won't push the price up that much and the bargain bin mags most certainly won't either.

Easy decision for me. I'm equal opportunities. I shoot anyone on the opposing side. If you're well enough to play and shoot, you're well enough to be shot.

Airsoft newbie advice on Ares Amoeba AM-008 setup HELP
Galvatron replied to Krusty's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Adding to what Skara said, the proprietary ecosystem and dubious quality control are the biggest problems with Ares' AEGs so when they eventually do break, you'll be in trouble sourcing replacements. There are thread adapters that allow you to fit the female CCW end on the male CCW end while attaching the female end of the adapter to the male CW thread barrel. Bullseye Country Sport could probably help you out. I have a cheap Ares PDW in my collection and I bought it knowing what I was letting myself in for if something failed. I'm definitely one of the lucky few whose Ares AEG hasn't shat itself on me in the past couple of years I've had it. -
Yes, it was tough at 19 but I don't think I was an exceptional case in working for what I had apart from what my student loans paid for. I spent 6 months saving up in a part time job for an AEG instead of mooching off others like some parasite. At that age, most of us started low and worked ourselves up. Ryan just comes across as someone who's watched too much reality TV or seen Youtubers and thinks he can be fast tracked without having shown an exceptional skill or talent that warrants it.

Until ChatGPT can still be identified by that fluffy wankery, I won't take it seriously. It just looks like you're insincere and can't be arsed to promote yourself properly.

Don't knock it! In his mind, that will only "justify" his need for a GoPro and a ScopeCam or something with decent image stabilisation. ________________________ "I got bills to pay" Ryan K What a shamelessly ungrateful gobshite! Does he have a mortgage, council tax and other financial responsibilities at 19 that we mere mortals can't possibly fathom? How does he think we pay for our kit?

Christ. He doesn't need to write Milton or Tolstoy but surely if he wants that much money, he can make an effort to itemise what's for sale? I give it a repost or two before he slashes the price and puts more of a salty rant than an actual description of what he's selling.
-
'Tis true though it shows a delusional mindset if he can't strategise to start small then build his way up.

The older I get, the more I understand why older people in my youth were so irritable. Does this kid have no concept of humility? I'm curious why he needs a GoPro or a Scope Cam. Granted, the image quality is better with them but he can find himself a generic action cam (and a suitable mount) for a small fraction of the price that will give him a much larger fraction of the video and sound quality. If he was good or prolific enough for a donation or sponsorship of a GoPro, he wouldn't need to set up a Just Giving page to mooch for one. He strikes me as the choosing beggar who would spit in the face of someone offering him a free Happy Meal because he wanted a fillet mignon.

Throwing a dummy is fair game but there are no circumstances during gameplay under which he should pick up IG/BFGs other than his own. "I saw it on YouTube" is a dickless attempt for the OpFor to rationalise himself.
