https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/double-bell-kac-pdw-m4-aeg_i75514 Seller wants £120 for a gun that can be bought for less than a ton https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/double-bell-pdw-polymer-black/ https://extremeairsoft.co.uk/product/double-bell-pdw-polymer-body-black-808/ Sorry, mate. The RDS, additional mag and front grip don't push the price back up to retail, especially for the fact that the gun has missing screws.

I would argue "better value for money" comes from what you as an individual get out of it rather than there being objective factors. I find value in my loadout but I know some people would hate it for themselves. As much as I prefer the Mk 18, I'd spend my money on something brand new and work on it later. Custom guns are notorious for being a gamble and thus they tend to depreciate significantly unless the seller/tech has a good reputation.

One of the fellas I have played alongside a few times is very keen on the Dye i5 mask he and his 14 year old lad use and used since getting into airsoft 18 months ago.

It's only an addiction if it causes you serious problems. What good's a hobby if you don't show passion and spend loads of money on it? I couldn't agree more than you can find some really cool shit for not a silly amount of money.

Help needed - Really want to start Airsoft BUT..
Galvatron replied to WillMidz's topic in General Discussion
Depending on how much padding is on the target, I usually give players the benefit of the doubt of them not feeling it but I will continue shooting until they call their hit or I will aim somewhere more likely to cause a reaction. -
Magazines - should I buy Hi, Mid or Low cap?
Galvatron replied to White_Wolf's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
It's already been said by many but in the context of the AR-15 platform, mid-cap mags are my favourite personally. Like Dan Bow, the rattle of high caps annoys me much more than wanting to be stealthy. These days, I pretty much reserve my high-caps (for AR-15) to my loaners for my friends from outside airsoft who came along. I have a variety of 140-250 round mid-caps with my AR-15 AEGs, the latter is the PTS EPM1 mags. -
It's good, it's tight enough to feel secure as I walk or even run at a moderate pace. I'm not sure if I'd risk a full-bore sprint where I lift my legs higher. With that said, I've never had the pistol come loose on account of the X300 clone (I think it's an unmarked WADSN model) I use. I would consider a button/latch release more secure.
-
For my Hi-Capa, I use a Deadly Customs Surefire retention holster so that holds on to the Surefire X300 torch and its clones. I attach it to a QLS adapter whose receiver plate goes on my mid-ride mount and leg strap.

You're going back a couple of decades with that. For spare parts, I'd imagine you'll have to cannibalise a boneyard of it, at least this side of a Taiwan/Hong Kong shop. Value depends on its condition and whether it functions. There's a WE "God of War" unlicensed green gas variant and a CO2 powered version by Umarex (I don't know the OEM), both of which are readily available now so you should expect that to limit the appeal of the KWC version mostly to collectors. The Appraisals forum would be the best place to ask what it's worth, assuming you have one.

It fires on full auto regardless of which firing mode it's on. Most CQB sites permit single-shot only. The lack of a functioning safe mode on an AEG makes it a liability unless the battery is disconnected before entering the safe zone.

That looks very familiar... too familiar from the fact that both profiles list a broken MP5K with the same scuffs on the box and a SAS 12 in a velvet-lined display case.
-
Oh yeah, I'm asking it as a rhetorical question because most scenarios will have you falling short on the gap in the price of parts. A premium brushless motor will get you closer but still not there and the seller hasn't even opened up the base of the firing grip to have a peek inside. I reckon he's dreaming because he's been duped by the previous seller, having paid way more than he should have as he should know by now the Double Eagle is a lot of airsoft gun for little money. Just to think he wanted 500 quid for it originally!

Now down to £350. It's still just over double RRP with that "fully upgraded" moniker. 🤦♂️

Well pro sas ii ultralight, bul armory
Galvatron replied to Ujustgotsarged's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
That video is less than reassuring as well. When a pre-fitted dot sight isn't already zeroed in and needs a bit of plastic to be inserted to finish the job, what else isn't right with the pistol? -
You're right. I was trying to ease him in gently. 😅

Oh dear. What have you let yourself in for entering the money pit? In all seriousness, glad you had a blast.

https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/36429-fully-upgraded-double-eagle Our man is back with what he originally touted as an Ares Honey Badger and now realises it is a Double Eagle Honey Badger, as we suspected. Somehow, he still thinks it has £230+ worth of upgrades as he still wants £400 for a gun that's ~£170 at current retail. When he insists that it's been "fully upgraded" internally but he can't itemise the internal upgrades, how can he possibly inspire confidence that its internals are worth more than twice the original gun?
-
Short answer: yes. MOSFETs cause a parasitic loss as they consume electricity in addition to the motor. With that said, your experience sounds like a huge drop in battery life. Unfortunately, I can't give a direct comparison before and after with upgrading my P90 to using a Perun unit because I used different voltages and capacities of batteries but I'd usually get through most of the day (playing outdoors with varieties of single shot and full auto) before and after the upgrade.

That's a Darwin Award kind of stupid. I was annoyed enough seeing one bloke at ComicCon in the lobby of the NEC open carrying an MP7 where the police could easily have seen and given him a really bad day. Unfortunately, it will be actual airsofters with common sense being tarred with the stupid brush, not cosplayers with more teeth than brain cells who exploit that "insurance". I hope more airsoft retailers are more wary about defences.

In UK is UKAPU member number a valid defence
Galvatron replied to imran333's topic in General Discussion
Strictly speaking, a valid defence such as UKARA isn't such to purchase but rather for the retailer to sell a RIF to you as you've demonstrated you meet the qualifying criteria as the seller can be held liable if the RIF is used in a crime. UKARA isn't required for ownership. Your UKARA membership can expire but your ownership of RIFs isn't threatened by no longer having a defence. It's only if you wish to purchase more after your membership has expired that you'd either need to renew it or get another suitable defence. It's not just a black airsoft replica you need a defence for, it's any "realistic-looking" colour, Grey, gun metal, chrome, gold, silver, olive drab, full dark earth, tan, etc, will all need a defence if more than 51% of that replica's surface is one or any combination of such colours. -
You may have guessed it but custom guns built from scratch are a nightmare to price though the fact that you've serviced them and that they run well work in your favour. Usually, it's 70% of the lowest current retail price for a nigh-on pristine RIF you'd buy off the shelf. You may want to use that as a starting point for the parts you bought. I'd imagine the Systema gearbox will retain the most value.

https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/cyma-cm508-m4-in-blue-barely-used-very-good-condition_i74115 No pricing is listed but I suspect the seller will be in for a rude awakening since I reckon he bought it with the Angry Balls BBs from BBG4L. https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/cyma-cm508-m4-sir-system-in-blue.html Assuming he paid £120, the 70% rule of thumb will be undercut massively by the fact that the RIF itself is available for £90 https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/cyma-cm-508-s-system-m4a1-rifle

Welcome to the hobby and the disappearance of your bank balance! When starting out, I wouldn't make a fuss about what you've bought, just that you spend wisely, which it looks like you've done. I got a used Nuprol DPD for almost pocket change as a loaner for one of my friends getting in until he had his UKARA sorted out and I'll keep it for others.

I hope things don't get much worse. Stay safe!
