https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/39880-nupal-pioneer Not a Nuprol, not a Nurpol but a Nupal. The seller wants £120 for a used two-tone where you can buy the arguably more desirable RIF for the same money, possibly less. Also a classic bait-and-switch with the seller posting photos of the gun kitted up with a foregrip and holo sight only to disclose in the description that they're extra.

I was gentle on him as he was less than forthcoming initially about the engravings and damage he'd mentioned. It was a single image at first that showed neither.

Same guy but he not only originally tried flogging it for £500, he misidentified it as Ares originally as well. He claimed to have video proof of it working in the past.

A "fully upgraded" DE Honey Badger that was marked down from £500 to £300 is now boneyard at £120 with a reported electrical fault. https://prefired.co.uk/ads/broken-upgraded-honey-badger/ If you spend just £40 more, you can get a brand new working original with none of the internals being tinkered around with and without that horrible paintjob. https://shop.super5ives.com/shop/item/133397/double-eagle-m904g.html

For the sake of clarity, can you confirm which gun you are talking about? Are you talking about the TM 416 DEVGRU NGRS or another RIF that has DEVGRU in its name? One troubleshooting tip is checking the compression in your cylinder - if you put your thumb over the nozzle while pressing the piston into the cylinder, a sign of good compression is that you will eventually get resistance against pushing the piston. If you get no resistance and you piston goes all the way down despite your thumb being in place over the nozzle, you've likely got a compromised seal, which would explain why your muzzle energy is much lower than expected with an M100 spring. Your piston head and/or its O-rings may be the culprit is your compression is poor.

Fire Support, unless they've seen sense over the past year.

What feature do you think your current one is lacking that you need to upgrade it?

Jesus wept. RIFT Airsoft sold its working ex-rental guns for ~£60 at the end of May. The ones with faults went for £20 less or so. If memory serves, there were some basic Specna Arms M4s and G&G Raiders.

Taking it personally is a good way to lose perspective. I too have found some bargains there but it would be negligent to deny that there are lots of rip-off merchants, try-hards and people clueless to economics of selling airsoft on that site. Yeah, that's probably true. He didn't name any of the brands so that's probably to prevent you from working out what the kit is actually worth. He hasn't even bothered listing the sizing of the shirt & trousers.

Is returning the gun to stock an option? Whether the tracer and RDS are upgrades is debatable - selling them separately is arguably your best bet. What is the "programmable ETU+"? Is that just the factory-fitted ETU or is there something like a Perun upgrade? Were you using silicone oil in the inner barrel?

I'm curious how he managed to spend £480 on the rest of kit other than being taken for a ride.

https://prefired.co.uk/ads/bulldog-airsoft/ No rear sight, probably in need of a service on its gearbox. Seller wants more than retail prices for the gun. https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/bulldog-m4pi-ris-cqb-airsoft-gun/

Welcome to the money pit of fun!

It's not for me personally. My eye has a tendency to twitch when people say the paint job is "easy to remove". Surely returning a gun as close to its stock condition as possible makes it more resellable?
-
I can't help with your question though it may be worth looking at the JG variant too.
-
I didn't imply. You perceived. The two aren't the same.

https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/two-tone-replicas/gas-powered_2/vorsk-vpx-two-tone-no-mag_i82240 The seller wants 60% of retail for a two-tone. Fair enough... until you find it doesn't come with its mag and that its magwell retaining pin has been replaced with a different pin. I always wanted an uncompetitively priced two-tone where it's unclear if the "different pin" is a like for like replacement or if it's a bit of a bodge job as the image is less than detailed.

I'm aware of the Patrol Base listing, thanks. I'd seen the chain since it was on Whatsapp, let alone get on to Used Airsoft. It may be technically retail because it's got a separate warranty but it's still going to be viewed as a third-party custom job (albeit produced on a small scale) because an OEM supplied an AEG, many of whose parts were replaced with upgrades. People aren't going to care about the technicality of it being a retail job, they're going to care about the G&G SR-15 base and its upgrades and how much they cost against the buyer's asking price.

I played up at Gunman Airsoft's Tuddenham site on Sunday. I booked in advance so signing on had no hassle and getting chrono tested was very straightforward. Primaries were tagged with one colour cable tie and bolt-action snipers, DMRs and LMGs were given a different colour to point out they were MED-restricted and thus not allowed to be used in the village section of the site - a sidearm had to be used in that case. The game rules were a bit challenging even for more experienced players but it added some variety even if the heat was on the forefront of a lot of our minds so I've probably recalled one or two things incorrectly. In both games, we had a 3-hit rule before we had to return to respawn. The first 2 times we were hit, we had to go to a knee or sit and call for an unwounded player to patch us up in a 20-second count with both of their hands on our shoulder, taking them out of being able to shoot also. On your 3rd hit, you were KIA and had to return to respawn to start over. If after 2 minutes, you weren't rescued and patched up or you deemed it too risky to be helped, you could declare yourself KIA and return to respawn. You could crawl to a teammate but if you were hit again while crawling, you'd be KIA (regardless of it being your 2nd or 3rd hit) or if either you or your teammate had their hands on your shoulder to patch you up and either of you were hit you would both be KIA (regardless of it being your 2nd or 3rd hit or your teammate's 1st, 2nd or 3rd) and have to return to respawn. Due to the risk of grass and bush fires, pyro was limited to Mk 5s, EG Flashbangs and BFG/IGs and they could only be used inside buildings - anyone inside a given building number where pyro was thrown was KIA when it detonated The morning game was a 3-way contest between two street gangs (red vs green teams) versus police (blue team - mostly marshals). The street gangs had to collect a narcotics package and return it to their respawn point but only "mules" (dedicated players with an orange armband) could pick up and return the packages so it was beneficial to set a strategy using players as cover for the mule when retrieving the package. The returned packages would be converted to product for the afternoon game for the street gangs' objectives. The blue team had to prevent "arrest" gang members on either side and collect their blue tag and if they collected half as many tags as there were street gang players, they would win. They also had to hinder the collection of the packages. After the lunch break, we went back out and those running gas weapons were retested on the chrono. Anyone above the limit had to either power down their gun or wasn't allowed to field it. One bloke had to put aside his sidearm but he caused no fuss at all as he wasn't running a DMR or sniper rifle. In the afternoon game, the street gangs retreieved packages were converted to product, which needed to be deposited in a safety deposit box on a given area at the site per gang. Each drop could only be completed with product, premium product and cash, the latter 2 of which could be retrieved from across the site only by the mules so again, the street gangs had to strategise to make their drops while the police had to thwart their efforts and continue collecting tags with their arrests with the aim of getting at least half of them. When you score a hit on an opposing gang member you could either claim their product if you saw them carrying it or you could ask if they were carrying if you couldn't see it and they were obliged to disclose and surrender it but only if you asked. Of course, you had to tread carefully to steal their product as you risked being hit by their teammates. Despite the weather, gameplay was good with people calling hits, there were no arguments the marshals were aware of. There was some really good teamwork from all 3 sides to push forward, distract attention, offer cover for mules (gangs), provide supressive fire, etc. I was running a Double Eagle Noveske N4 MWS GBBR as my primary along with a WE Hi-Capa 4.3 as my sidearm.

When you spend that much on a custom gun built by a third party, you have to anticipate a massive loss when trying to resell it as that example isn't what you'd call a collectible. As the seller has mentioned nothing about the original G&G parts still being included, I will assume the base gun has lost more value because it can't be returned to factory spec (ignoring wear and tear) so the value of the upgraded parts only reduces the loss instead of preserving value if that makes sense.

Is he talking about the bag of smack and the mass spectroscopy tools to verify its purity that acount for £720 of his asking price? I bet he's the type of person who gets pissy when he hears the same question over and over without any sales.

That really grinds my gears. It's like someone admitted they'd done something taboo or downright reprehensible but they ask you not to judge them because they deserved to be condemned. Some people have very sheltered lives not to understand that especially when it comes to your own decisions, you're going to be judged. Some are more constructive than others when they're critical but you're going to be judged regardless.

https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/bundle-aap-01c-pistol-and-lancer-tactical-m4-and-more_i81041 Seller wants £400 but hasn't specified the model of his Lancer Tactical M4, which internal upgrades it's had done, nor is there a photo of the non-description green gun bag
-
Classic example of having a tech work on your gun then passing on that labour cost (or some of it) to the buyer. Similar story of "You're paying on top for the upgraded internals but I'm not supplying the originals while I still charge X% of the original cost of the gun".
