Converting from mini-Tamiya to Deans...
Galvatron replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Electric Guns
In terms of the terminals on the mini-Tamiya connector, the circle would be the red cable and the square would be the black cable so if you were converting it to Deans, the cable from the circle terminal of the mini-Tamiya would be soldered on to the horizontal part of the Deans "T" whereas your square terminal cable from the mini-Tamiya would be soldered on to the vertical part of the Deans "T". -
It says "M4A1 Carbine" on the lower receiver so along with mentioning EBB, I'd guess it's based off some TM M4 NGRS with an extended outer barrel. Who knows where the handguard is from?

How hardline is Suffolk for you? Phil aka Airsoft Monkey is one chap I could recommend. He's based in Beds near the Cambs border since Only Airsoft/Combat UK consolidated its premises to the Snetterton store.

TM will always have gather some following so the Desert Eagle should fetch around £120, assuming that the mag is gas-tight. The Glock 18 should fetch about £80-90, again assuming the mag is gas-tight. Do you have gas to confirm the mags have intact seals?

If that's "practically brand new", Bonnie Blue must be a virgin.

I didn't say the sport of airsoft would have been banned. I said airsoft RIFs would have been banned under VCRA though I should have clarified the sale of them. Indeed it was a Labour government but that's an oversimplication given that policy under Starmer differs significantly from that under Blair at the time.

A few issues with the argument. Intention is one thing but the effect is also significant. We don't live in an ideal world and it's not a secret that criminals want to reduce their paper trail and would employ a proxy to acquire an imitation firearm. The kid's age doesn't prevent him from being allowed spray paint the gun he had - whatever you've been "led to believe" was misleading or you've misinterpreted it. It is illegal for anyone, whether they're above or below the age of majority, to modify an imitation firearm to look realistic unless they have a defence to do so. I'm not sure anyone has been prosecuted for the offence but being a minor is not a factor. The restrictions on airsoft guns came from the Violent Crime Reduction Act, not the Violent Crime Prevention/Eradication Act. UKARA as a self-regulated system could definitely do with reform but to imply that it doesn't have any impact on reducing the misuse of imitation firearms needs evidence to back it up. Also, it's worth bearing in mind the point about air pistols is irrelevant because air guns were not (and still aren't) under the same remit as airsoft when the VCRA was proposed. Air guns had significant protection by political lobbyists who had ties to shooting clubs. Airsoft had no such protection and airsoft RIFs would have been made banned outright had it not been for the government agreeing to a compromise with the UK airsoft industry regulating itself in terms of who can buy. Airsoft will face further restrictions long before it happens to air pistols or air rifles.

So he's only fired 20 rounds in the AK but he's gone to the trouble of wrapping up his grip with sniper tape? 🤔

I agree completely. I don't just blame the kids, I blame the parents who show no common sense either. I was at an airsoft shop not so long ago where this lad, no more than 13 or 14 came in the shop open carrying some AR-15 based replica with his dad present. The staff gave them a minor bollocking and insisted they use a large plastic bag before leaving the store and rightly said an armed response unit could have been sent over. The shop was somewhat secluded in an industrial estate but the front door was directly opposite an active business. Some of the most shameless idiocy I'd seen was at Birmingham ComicCon where people were open-carrying RIFs in the lobby at the NEC. Considering the location being right by a major UK airport and train station, how did they not think there is going to be a constant police presence? The sooner we get rid of Just Cos or the sooner its terms invalidate the insurance if you open carry, the better.

I took a nut shot but I found wearing a sports cup was much worse as it dug into my thighs and groin. I make do with a dangler pouch at the bottom of my plate carrier. I agree with Tommikka about going baggy if you can. Unfortunately with my proportions, there's no such thing as baggy for me without getting it tailored.

Really nice work!

On the face of it, the pricing doesn't show anything alarming though more details on the scope the SSX303 rifle are needed and for the seller to confirm its mags have no leaks. Dave's Custom Airsoft products usually have a large margin added in their pricing but used, that price genuinely doesn't sound bad. Has the seller/trader got photos of the guns they're selling and videos to confirm they're working? Even if it's a face-to-face trade, you should get some peace of mind in advance.

https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/two-tone-replicas/electric-powered_1/electric-powered-ar-15-battery-and-magazine-included_i86164 The seller hasn't disclosed the brand and model of the AR-15/M4 replica so how do we know it's worth £115, especially when it's two-tone?

"Better" is hugely subjective and depends on environmental factors. Did you "hear" VFC is better from a staunch VFC user or somebody with an axe to grind with TM? I don't think you can go wrong with either platform, certainly with VFC made in the last few years. VFC has more recoil out of the box generally and I'd say they feel more substantial. They also lift heavier BBs over a greater distance out of the box but swapping hop buckings and nubs is a simple enough job on the MWS platform so that benefit is negated quickly. Cold resistance is relative. There are ways to combat it that make VFC vs MWS a much more nuanced discussion. You can use lighter bolts/BCGs along with using red or even black gas and both will still cycle reliably when it's near or below freezing.

Welcome. Always glad to see new players.

Sorry you feel that way but as Austeyr said, you need to engage yourself beyond throwing a hissy fit because you didn't get a reply. I like to think I'm quite well versed on the P90 AEG platform and am happy to offer advice or talk about my own experience with rebuilding gearboxes, choosing replacement parts or upgrades, fitting mosfets, etc. I'm getting more clued up on the MWS platform and am happy to share knowledge and experience, even with those way more knowledgeable than me. Unfortunately, with the SVD platform, I'm neither qualified nor competent to offer any advice on it, let alone on aftermarket parts, so I stay out of that lane. Replying with "sorry, I don't know" helps nobody. I'd imagine that reason was prevalent among others who saw your other posts this year and didn't reply. Just because people don't reply to a topic, it doesn't mean there's a cult, nor does it mean the OP is unwelcome. It's great when people here do happen to know about certain niches and they share that knowledge. However, when you conjure up an expectation in your head that strangers will have such knowledge on niche topics, that's on you. If you do reach out to the HRC Discord server, it's probably best not to throw any tantrums there either if you don't get your way.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007617461268.html That might be suitable. 3.5mm is harder to find but sometimes you may have to go a few listings.

Yes, the Double Bell version of the P90 can run very well with the Perun mosfet. The Cybergun (made by Cyma), Double Bell, Cyma and JG versions are heavily based on the original TM P90. Out of the box, the trigger system, especially on single shot, can be very problematic as the trigger bar gives an inconsistent movement between the trigger and the electrical contacts so using the Perun mosfet bypasses that trigger bar and the electrical contacts pushed by the bar. The Krytac P90 uses its own mosfet but it's not as versatile as the one from Perun. In my experience, the P90 AEG (regardless of brand) is also best paired with the 64-round mid-cap mags (TM, Double Bell or Cyma are fine) or the Krytac mid-cap mags that can be switched between 50 and 200 rounds though they are almost as hard to find as rocking horse poo. The high-cap P90 mags are possibly the worst of any airsoft platform as they don't feed consistently and they need to be removed to be rewound for the next batch of rounds. The MP5 SD6, A5 or K are all good shouts for CQB. I don't have any specific hangups on the platform or mags apart from making sure mags from a different vendor to the RIF fit securely in the magwell and feed.

Ignoring Ares' less than desirable repuation, it's cheap because the HPA engine & gearbox assembly were manufactured to keep costs down so you lose a few features compared what you'd usually see from Wolverine or PolarStar. It uses a low-cost solenoid and its delay can't be adjusted so your firing rate is capped (no wanker guns on a budget). You can't fine tune the volume of air inside your inner barrel to suit its length either (fixed dwell) so you have to rely solely on the pressure from the regulator to control the muzzle energy while being conscious of joule creep. A really good write up was done before so it may be worth a read.

Are you talking about just the switch pad and not the cover? Ali Express might have something similar as it sells switch pads individually, both for 2.5mm and 3.5mm.

Airsoft site in London which is approved under UKARA
Galvatron replied to carpio's topic in General Discussion
In all likelihood you'll have to search further afield of Greater London. With a premium for leasing/buying property or suitable woodland, running an airsoft site in London isn't sustainable. Bunker 51 closed down a few months ago. It's worth checking this site out: https://playairsoft.uk/map It's not an exhaustive list but there are options just outside Greater London accessible by public transport and a shortish taxi journey away (I assume you don't drive). -
I don't know if it was listed here too but it was mentioned on Used Airsoft within the last couple of pages.

https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/bone-yard/we-m16_i85704 Seller admits he was fleeced by the previous seller but other than the trigger box problems, he hasn't disclosed the "missing or incorrect" parts (other than the missing flash hider) so how can we know it's worth £200 as a boneyard item, GBBR or not?

Searching for good Light & Laser combos to put on my MK18
Galvatron replied to Jake_50's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I kit some of my RIFs with a laser purely for looks but I don't use it simply for the concern of accidentally catching someone in the eyes. I might be careful with my aim but people can inadvertently move into my line of sight. Most of the sites I've played at have a rule of aiming down the sights (i.e. no shooting from the hip unless you're using something like a minigun but that's a niche itself) so whether you've got irons or a red (or green) dot/reticle, lasers are largely redundant.
