Looks like you need to bin that tiny motorbike to free up some essential space. It will make all the difference.

Ah, sorry to hear it! My E&C G34 functions very well indeed - not that it helps your grief! WE mags work well in mine. Lovely looking set of pistols there - hope you get it sorted soon.

Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
The_Lord_Poncho replied to JVacation's topic in General Discussion
No idea whether it was as a result of a hot gun (but as the thread has taken a bit of a swerve, i'll mention it anyway!), but the first game I wore my shiny new bolle X800 knock-offs (bought from a legit UK retailer), a BB launched from at least 20m away shattered the plastic fitting that the elastic strap was fixed to, and they pinged off my face in the middle of a pretty hefty assault on my position from the opposing team. I'm sure the lenses themselves could have taken a huge amount of abuse, but there are other weak points (and possibly those weak points are not actually subject to testing by the manufacturer against the various standards?). Super bad luck - definitely, but I now inspect any glasses I wear these days for similar such weaknesses. -
To be completely honest, I have a number of well set up DMRs, a well set up HPA Sniper (L96), and an assortment of AEGs. The most accurate, long ranged, and consistent of my AEGs (a bone stock Krytac) has almost the same real world performance (range and accuracy) of the DMRs and Sniper. The extra 1J between them doesn't really count for that much in the real world. But - that’s not to say the play style that comes with each category isn't fun, and its nice to mix things up a bit. From the above, it sounds like this is half your aim? Unless you are indicating that you aren't going to be playing with it, but rather just using it in the garden. In which case, i'd venture that a garden that is big enough for you to shoot an airsoft sniper within is also big enough for you to construct a half decent backstop and enjoy the infinitely superior accuracy of an air rifle. But if its is a blend of ultimate performance and aesthetics that you are after with the sniper, and you are after a light bolt pull (with the gas system you specify) - maybe consider building a half decent rifle up from a cheap VSR (Cyma are often used as bases) or an L96 (e.g. a Well MB01) - throw in a load of parts (the building is half the fun), and consider one of the these parts being an HPA drop in kit - e.g. the Mancraft SDIK.

I'd possibly dispute the 'well run' aspect of this! I've had some great evenings there, but also some very average evenings - 50/50. Last few times I went (admittedly must be a year or so ago), there was no safety brief, chrono was a little perfunctory, and the only marshall that was in evidence was a player marshal who was repeatedly accused of cheating by the opposition team to an extent that the entire team walked out midway through the final game and left. But - I have had some awesome evenings there, perhaps just go along with your eyes open. To the OP - you will know your kids and their nature, and clearly have indoor/CQB experience already with them. I haven’t played at the CQB sites you mention, but note that at both the Invicta black site and the Epsom tunnels the ranges you get hit from are very low - frequently less than a meter. I often come away bleeding and always with an assortment of sizeable bruises. Taking kids there - be aware that it will be impossible really for you to 'curate' their experience if that makes sense.

Very impressive. I see that the price of thermal kit is dropping like a stone these days to a point that i am almost tempted by one of the aliexpress offerings. I believe that most of the cheaper ones can't be used as a sight however - which presumably is your plan?

Bet he'd be sh*t company though. Absolute zero banter.

A rather nice set of combats in a Chinese Type 81 camo pattern - 'Tactical Toms' - the quality seems excellent, and the sizing is rather European which caught me out a little. Should be pretty good for lush summer woodland. Quite a fun pattern which I understand was inspired by British DPM originally when it first appeared in the very late 1970's/early 1980's. Oh, and a cheeky Cyma MP5SD. I've plans to pop a Mancraft inside it that is currently unused within one of my M4s, and put a full stock on to turn it into the SD5 version. I must say, out of the box it seems superb, one of the quietest running gearboxes I've encountered and very snappy for a non-mosfet gun. -
Looks to my like it is this part - sold for the Cyma CM028 (TM clone) fixed stock AK: https://www.18airsoft.com/products/cyma-cyma-ak-stock-metal-adapter-cy-0040

Sounds like you are suffering from the same issue that the SA80 (A1) was plagued with (amongst many, many, many others of course). A simple metal fence welded on solved that. Possibly a 3d printed plastic equivalent superglued/epoxied on would assist your situation? Looks like a chap has knocked out a file for the SA80 version that might be able to be modded/sanded/cut to fit? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4321243

...includes an underground shooting range.... And a load of old ammo crates stacked next to the Rolls in the massive garage - looks more than a coincidence. Maybe there is a healthy profit margin in plastic gearbox two tones!

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
The_Lord_Poncho replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Very nice, and at £160, that looks a bargain. If i wasn't waiting for the new line of Cyma platinum AKs to arrive, I’d be all over one of these. -
Judging by the references in some of the product descriptions, 'BBguns4less' have bought the name. (or there is some very lazy copy paste from competitors websites...) Edited to say - both websites reference a business address in Takeley, so yes - same outfit.

yep, fair enough!

I love that sound-byte. A career on North Norfolk Digital beckons!

That baofeng should never have a range that short - it's either defective, or (more likely) the frequencies aren't programmed in correctly. If that is the case, then you will be getting very short range comms still with bleed through. I've had clear as a bell comms with identical spec baofeng at 6km in undulating woodland. Even dense urban, on uhf, should give you a reliable 500m or so. Got to say, when I used the real harris radios, the range wasn't really any better (but obviously so much better in terms of quality and feature set).

New guy and some advice need?
The_Lord_Poncho replied to Rabspat43's topic in New Players & Arrivals
I spent most of yesterday chasing the same problem - built a MK12 from parts, but enormous fluctuation in power levels. I tried three different buckings, three different hop units (and combinations thereof), before eventually spotting white BB residue on the (metal) gearbox nozzle. I've now popped a different gearbox (extracted from a cheap Specna AR9) in there for the time being, and its sorted it. In due course I'll strip the original gearbox down and have a play around with different length nozzles. -
I have the same issue - I actually have a spirit level bubble in the rear of my scope mount on a few rifles, albeit remembering to crane my head and check it is a rarity....

Hmm - the below is the parts diagram for the equivalent TM model (which I presume the Cyma is largely/entirely based upon). It's rather difficult to fathom out - is it part M14-2 ? But - I’ve just had a look at my (assembled) CM032 - that whole part you circle is made of metal. From your original photo, it looks like the part that has snapped is plastic? If so, it is simply the feed tube that is part of the hop unit passing through a hole in that plate. It's a while since I had mine apart so i can't say for certain, but if you are able to ascertain the snapped part on yours is plastic, that’s a good clue that it is the hop unit that needs replacing only.
-
A good counter if they try to pull that one on you though would be "You sold it to me as a V2, and the process of setting the hop on a V2 requires slide removal."
-
As another option, some green gas pistols can work in winter too - non blow backs like the MK23 (if you can stand the firm and mushy trigger), or those that have little recoiling mass - like the AAP. If you have struggled with GBB pistols in the winter but haven’t yet tried an AAP, that might be worth a try. I run mine on MAPP gas in the winter, and as a secondary, it's been spot on down to zero degrees and a little below. Caveated to say - that's use as a secondary - i.e. 5 quick shots every now and then to get me out of trouble when people are in my MED. I suspect use as a primary in the dead of winter, it would still be sub par.
-
Looks like it to me too. Take it slow and methodical to get the M14 apart, and take an especial note of how the fake bolt mechanism comes apart/goes back together as you do it - M14s can be a bit frustrating, and to swap the Hop out, there is a fair bit of disassembly to do. Worth the effort though, just take a few photos as you take it apart as an aide memoir (assuming you haven’t done it before of course!).

Trouble shouldering rifle with Osprey MkIV
The_Lord_Poncho replied to Holly Wallace's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I haven’t found one in stock for a couple of years now - if you find a source, let me know! -
I've never been, but have meant to get over and try it out. I suppose with DriverWood so close to where I am based, I've got a little lazy. However, now that Driverwood has hoovered up a lot of Dogtag's previous custom it is getting pretty congested (i.e. apparently 160 there last Sunday), so even more impetus to try out Invicta before it closes. They run a tight ship at their Blacksite venue, so I imagine the general marshalling and organisation for the woodland site will be much the same high standard? Fingers crossed for the Yalding site - actually a little closer to home than Invicta Woodland, and Yalding has a train station for those with no car (Asomodai)...

Blue 70 degree silicon autobot in my one (and indeed in most of my pistols) seems to work very well. I took the view that with the extra grippiness of the silicone, a 70 degree is about the equivalent of the 50 degree in old money. No idea if it really aligns like that, but the results seem to bear that theory out.
