  1. I'd avoid the SPARC. It's a great optic and does its job well, plus using a standard battery is nice. However, it can't be transferred to other mounts, it's a fixed height and that that. The crossfire (and previously mentioned Holosun) can be put onto other mounts. This isn't a huge thing, but once you've used a slightly higher mount (I use a 1.93 scalar clone) it's much more comfortable and frankly, is the cool modern look. Impressions don't seem to be anything anymore, but I'd also encourage thinking about it. I've been very impressed with the holy warrior range of red dots, their eotech clones are the best on the market and their T2 clones are fantastic (especially for the money). If money is no issue, looks aren't a concern etc then check out the Holosun aems (tactical kit stock them).
  2. My recommendation is something cheap like a viper chest rig to get you started, they're light, cheap, don't make you sweat as much as a plate carrier and will carry all you need. When you've used this for 6 months or so, you'll.havr a better idea of what you need/like/don't like.
  3. For real steal stuff I think it's more along the lines of, if your optic (lpvo, red dot, acog etc) malfunctions/breaks/ is damaged in some way you still have a zerod method to aim with, you obviously can't just track the flight of your rounds. In this scenario you'd just remove the optic and mounts completely. The Magpul ones are lightweight and only take a bit of space. For me and airsoft, this is purely dependent upon the build, I have a more vintage 2009/2010 era 416 (the og rail, light placement, peq15, grip, optic, paint job, suppressor etc) so I do have back up irons. Same for my civ build AR-15 style rif. My modern 11.5 urgi doesn't have back up irons. As optics became more trustworthy, battery life longer etc more and more real operators stopped running back up irons so my more modern rif configurations follow suit. I'm not a gear stitch bitch, but I like my rifs to be accurate. I am not an operator, I'm a fat civilian playing toy soldiers.
  4. This is such a positive review from a new forum member, as their first post that it looks almost too good to be true....like a member of the team or site owner etc has seen some negative reviews online and is trying to counter them by putting fake positive reviews out there. Details such as the fact you've played there recently, suggesting that it was your first visit....yet you know the names of 3 of the marshalls....kinda sounds fishy. I know the names of about 3 marshalls at my local site and I've been going there over 10 years. Also, the fact you seem bursting with positivity about the site and the team, it's only take 7 ish weeks since your visit to join a forum and post a review is.....fishy. it's normally 7 weeks after I've done something awesome that I'm desperate to tell people about it as well. To sum up, the site is in Oldham, all previous negative comments we may have heard about the site (I haven't personally heard any, anyway) should be ignored, it's a great site for beginners and the site is suitable for woodland and cqb so perfect for all players.....but this is definitely not an advert from the site owner in the guise of a review to counter people criticising it.
  5. I definitely want to hear about magflashes becoming available again! For those who aren't familiar with magflashes, they are like a thermo baric Airsoft pyro (or at least they were) they had a deeper boom to them and a very bright flash, so were awesome in buildings at night! They weren't louder than a Mk5. Just needed the extra space for the stuff to make the bright flash.
  6. Yes and it was tuddenham. Dropped into the middle of building 5, found on a barrel between buildings 3 and 4. I would have a problem with it. Nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide was an approach used by the Nazis and pretty much every oppressive state since then to put more and more monitoring (spying), It's a slippery slope. I like the guy who used an airtag on his pyro.
  7. The site in question have a rule that you should leave all pyro where it is and not move, even if you think it's more helpful, it's well briefed. For this example, it was thrown into the middle of a multi room building and there were several places it could have been placed to make it easier to find. Instead it was completely out of the building on a barrel, some distance from the building. My point was though, even if it had been stolen and I replaced it, financially I'd still be far better off than if I'd bought all of that as disposable pyro. I've used bfgs at many Stirling events (15+) as well. Yes my local site reacted well etc but I'd encourage people not to ignore the possibility of bfgs as they can be a huge cost saver.
  8. Just as a counter. I've been using re usables for over 10 years, I've gone through at least 400 primers in that time and have 2 (had 3) reusable grenades. Never had one stolen and having done the maths have saved over £1000 in pyro costs for it AND I still have 2 bfgs that I could resell. Once at a game I threw it, 3 marshalls saw where it was and when I went to collect it at the end of the game, it wasn't there. The marshalls called it out loud and said nobody was leaving until it was found....it was miraculously found about 20 metres away, outside on a barrel. Likely had been stolen and dumped when they realised the marshalls weren't just going to ignore it. Even if it had been stolen, the return on the investment Vs pyro have been so good I couldn't talk them down. Theft does happen, but sensible use and follow up can mitigate the risk and the savings Vs disposable are so big that even if you account for it being stolen every 100 throws it's still worth it.
  9. Thought this was of some relevance. https://www.bhf.org.uk/how-you-can-help/how-to-save-a-life/how-to-do-cpr/learn-cpr-in-15-minutes Online CPR training for something we are most likely to experience.
  10. Raise with the head marshall/site manager for both of those instances. Blank fire can add to the immersion of the event, but I'm sure no site organiser would want to alienate customers who don't want it included. It might be that they add in a "we plan to allow X person to use their blank fire pistol today, if anyone objects X person won't" etc. The coloured zip tie thing is cheating other people's health and safety and absolutely has to be dealt with. If after being given the opportunity to manage these things they continue and the head marshall is aware. Name and shame the site on a forum/Facebook and vote with your feet by not returning. If you don't name and shame, it effectively encourages sites to bend for regulars etc and puts other players in a position of supporting a company that has practices that they wouldn't support or puts them at risk of serious injury.
  11. I have a couple. 1 Is your typical plasters, ibuprofen, paracetamol, competed, immodium, tissues. Your booboo one basically. Any minor injuries, ailments etc that you wouldn't need to inform a marshall about and just deal with yourself. It's come in super useful especially some pain meds that a friend had to use when his back went out at a very remote 3 day milsim. He could barely crawl, 24 hours later, some pain meds and hot water bottles and he could then at least walk and sort himself to be able to get home. My other is a full on tq, hemostatic combat gauze, Israeli bandage etc. I do some real steel shooting and while theres a massive focus on safety, accidents happen. A lot of my kit is used for both hobbies and it's a pain to take it off, the weight isn't much and it means it's always there. I'm not qualified, but I have done some research on the usage and I figure if I've been shot (by accident) I'd rather some have a vague idea and the kit than nothing at all. My view is that this isn't treatment, it's hoping to do enough to keep someone alive until they can be treated by real medical people. I'd like a couple more full on life saver ones, primarily for the car should I be in or near a serious incident
  12. Thanks both, have done so and there was a very slight bend on the nozzle loading arm, applied some head and bent it back to shape and it's working like a charm now. I think I caused it with a BB double feed during a reload
  13. Having an issue with it now venting gas, getting more and more consistent. As it's happening to pretty much all the mags, I figure it's an issue with the rif. As per the pic, the bolt sticks in the position, if I then pull the trigger it vents. My theory is: 1. It's bolt bounce, I've added 10ps to the stock tube but maybe the gas is too powerful and I need a weighted buffer. 2. There is an issue with the nozzle and it's catching on the mag /lips and it's stopping it from going into battery as normal 3. It's something else and I have no idea. I'd rather not buy parts on the basis of "it could be that" so does anyone know with confidence? Truth of the matter is money is tight at the moment (recent baby!) and I've been considering selling this, as much as i Iove it.
  14. These look pretty darn cool! I'd be interested if they became available. Would love an event they were compulsory at
  15. I now have a TM MWS, it's awesome but it's not for everyone. Previously I have had a GHK M4 and it was problem after problem, some of it was lack of user knowledge, but simple things like I had bbs get into the trigger mech because I took a mag out, popped the rifle towards the sky while getting my next mag etc. I lost a big percentage of the game time available due to the number of malfunctions. I only ran C02 mags which made it worse. I haven't owned a WE, but my understanding is that they work most of the time in good weather, their QC isn't great and there is a lot of aftermarket support for them, once tweaked they can be quite good. But to get to the same level as an mws takes time, money, parts, blood, sweat and tears and financially you'll be in a similar spot. After my GHK I then got a tm mp7, frankly I think this is now the best gas gun I have owned, but I had the itch for an MWS so it got sold to fund that, I wish that itch hadn't happened. The MWS is ok, I have had some teething problems with it (getting enough gas into the latest generation of mags) and some bolt bounce issues on hot days. The MP7 didn't have any of these, the range, accuracy and consistency was surprising. I would suggest using your normal aeg, use mid caps, but then only do 9 ish pushes from your speedloader into each one. Run them as low caps for the day and see how you feel. Using a GBBR is an awesome experience in my opinion (financial issues may force a sale unfortunately) but there are several areas that aren't favourable. Cons Lack of ammo vs enemy, (in some games this has a bearing, you're effectively a rifleman against support gunners. ) Gas prices Noise (giving away your sneaky location) Weight (that high cap user has a lighter gun, no spare mags and no rig). Price expect your rif to be around 60% of your total spend. bb cost for heavier weight bbs juggling performance of the rif for the weather (hot weather, heavier buffer, weaker gas) Pros That awesome feeling of winnning a firefight at such a disadvantage Regular reloads Recoil thats worth having After the amount I have put into Gas with the results I have had etc, the GBLS DAS isn't that expensive!
  16. I agree with Jim, doesn't sound like much of a friend. I always find there is 1 "friend" in every group that makes money or takes the p out of the others on stuff financially. I can't see any ngrs that's been upgraded by unknown parts by unknown techs getting more than £500 and even if it was the best tech in the world.....your tech who fixed the wire has effectively made them irrelevant (as he could have introduced God knows how many issues). £400 is around the value id expect you to achieve.
  17. Pretty sure it's just a rebrand of the kwc CO2 1911 Cybergun (I think) did 4 different re runs of it and referred to them as rail gun 1911. Rwa also did a bunch of them as the nighthawk custom. I have a spare here somewhere but the seal has gone (common for CO2) and I haven't bothered figuring it out.

Mint condition long sleeved version of the Velocity Systems Rugby Shirt in Ranger Green, size is 2 XL so good for us bigger blokes. This is a lovely shirt, too lovely for my local site which has too many thorns and brambles, whenever I have worn it (twice) I have lived in fear of tearing it. I haven't, but it's obviously not quite as tough as poly cotton bdus. Any questions please ask. The price is £40 all in, postage, packaging and paypal fees included. I am based just north of Cambridge, if you're collecting I will take a lower offer. Sale of all non essential nice kit forced due to recent child.

This is a package deal, hence the price. But it should take any non pistol user up to having a great set up. Will only split if the pistol sells first. Included WE Glock 17 MOS. Grip trimmed to mag reloading easier and the grip has been stippled. It's a home done job so don't expect perfection. Raised irons fitted. (80) Sotac clone of the Surefire 300V. The IR is actually IR, not some weird strobe setting. I also have a DG activation button for it, so you can activate the light and shoot etc 1 handed. (45) Vector Optics Frenzy Red rot. Has an IR setting and frankly, it's pretty awesome. I'd be happy to sell at a lower price and not include this. (80) Standard Green gas mag (suitable for MOS version, has a square gas router). (accounted for) CO2 Magazine, leak free (suitable for MOS version).(20) Co2 Magazine, spares and repairs only with rectangular gas router. (0) TMC MC 6354do Safariland clone with Mid rid belt thing and a tmc version of the safariland quick lock system. This has been spray painted Green (I am a krylon pest). (20) TMC 1.75 inch shooters belt, the one with an inner belt and an outer molle belt. Max waist size around 36 inches. Fair to good condition (no tears, but some grass etc in the velcro). (15) Custom Kydex pistol mag holder. I broke the tek lok off it, the pouch part is fine and I just zip tied it last time, but a new tek lock wouldn't hurt. (15) Standard height iron sights and an extra mounting plate for different red dots/no red dot. Also have the included "red dot" which is a fake one with a dot painted on it. Gas router key (from when I had a GHK, but looks like it'll work with these). I have guestimated prices I think each piece would get second hand (not new) and it came to around £275. Price is £225, if you collect I'll include 2 bottles of ultra air and 10 co2 capsules. (collection just north of Cambridge). I have probably fired around 5 mags through this, however I have done lots of "Operator" home clearances, holstered it and practice transitions etc alot. I also don't shy away from difficult routes during games so is dragged through brambles etc, it looks like it's fairly beaten, internally it should be almost like new. I will sell the accessories individually if the pistol has sold. Any questions, please ask.

  21. It would spin the motor, it just spins the motor the wrong way as you have reversed the polarity (man, this sounds like some back to the future stuff). Assuming there is an anti reversal latch that would prevent the gears from turning. If the motor wasn't properly seated and therefore not engaging with the gears, this would explain why it did turn before it was seated properly (not engaging gears) and didn't turn when it was seated properly (engaging gears).
  22. I've been playing for around 11 years now, I've done lots of big weekend events, pretty much every skirmish site within 2 hours of me and it's consistently good. The site is great (like there are buildings, woodland, scrub, trenches etc) but it's the attitude of the people running it that matters really make it consistently good. Gunman own it, but the site managers have a huge impact on it, over the years it's been up and down. It's on a big upward trajectory at the moment.
  23. Did a filmsim day at Gunman Tuddenham on Saturday. I really enjoy the fun, positive attitude that they have with their players, all about improving the game play in the field. Well delivered brief etc. The games were even in the structure of in game respawning off buddies, but one side was attacking and one side defending (with some great cover), so it became very stagnant, repetitive and energy sapping with 3-4 minutes of walking to get to the hard respawn and then the walk back in etc. It was only around lunch time when the respawn rules were changed to reflect one side was attacking for basically the whole day that the games actually developed the way they were intended and objectives achieved. As always, great hit taking and sportsmanship. I felt like I'd had it handed to me all day, I don't get to play as often as I'd like and feel out of the groove when I do get to play, same kit etc. Maybe its the larger waistline and lack of familiarity of how it all feels. It also cemented the ideas I have been having about my rifs and kit, so will be listing several pieces this week as I can't justify the money invested vs the amount I get to play and the experiences I have with it.
