  1. 45p for a 2 litre bottle of it from Lidl, I bring a few of them with me, all I need (if I wasn't lazy / knackered at the end of a full days game I'd take the bottles home and refill them next time).
  2. @leadly Just be aware that a non-standard trigger will prevent you from being able to use the CTM holster if you have one of those (even AA's own adjustable trigger).
  3. Done and dusted... M904E + 2x 1300 mah 11.1v batteries + 2x EPM1 mags + Maple Leaf 60 degree Macaron. My next game is not until 18th July so I'll part fill the EPM1 mags and leave them for a few days at a time to try and weaken the spring in them a little. Has anyone here played around with the spring in the M904 and tried it as a DMR?
  4. And this is a great video to follow for the swap out... https://youtu.be/FQhVwcOeQ6A ... just take it steady and watch out for all of the springs trying their best to escape from you.
  5. @Madhouse How did your nose hold up to the "smelly stairwell"? When I was there a few a weeks ago the BB hits were so close they drew blood.
  6. Maybe it's worth more due to the "miner" scratch, there can't be many miners left in the UK now, so it's a rare item 😉
  7. You'd love the AAP-01 group on Facebook, it's just people w**king over their 3d printed buffer tubes and ludicrous stocks 🤣 ("what do you think of my new print and build?")
  8. That guy that saw the YouTube videos, bought the AW drum mag, has suffered with cooldown / a knackered drum mag spring / sticking output valves / a gas burn on his hand / broken hammer? I'm that guy, but I wish that I wasn't 😅 (love my AAP-01, quirks and all, but the AW drum mag has been an absolute bitch)
  9. Can I ask how long the e-mail took to arrive once your site registered you / accepted your membership? (I suppose this depends on how quickly the site does this for you really)
  10. How have you been getting on with loading them? Do you need to be the Hulk to load them fully once the spring is under tension? (seen a lot of this on YouTube, and Negative Airsoft ripped right into them). Do you find it performs much better on 11.1v? (snappier trigger response etc.). I've not decided what to use yet, most sellers of it say 11.1v but some actually say no more than 7.4v so a little confussing.
  11. ... add in "and my son loves it too" and those are my three reasons for getting into it. My eyesight is not 100%, I'm overweight, I'm not rich, but if I have some fun then I've "won".
  12. I'll be buying an M904E this week so I was wondering what the consensus is on compatible mags? I'll probably be buying either PTS Syndicate EPM 1's or NUPROL M4/15/16 350 Rnd Hi-Cap N-Mag's (probably the PTS as I don't want the mag to not be able to keep up), unless anyone thinks they'll have trouble fitting or be a bad choice?
  13. Thanks everyone. I had a feeling that my "true" UKARA number should start with the three letter site code, so I'll have to reign myself in and wait until I get my e-mail.
  14. At the end of my most recent skirmish I became a member at the site concerned, paid my money and have a membership card and number (which is a five figure number with a 7 at the start, which seems an incredibly high number as there's no way the site will have that many members). They were very busy so once I'd entered my detail on an electronic list on a tablet, paid my dues and got my card I left the site (they did say don't attempt to make any online purchases for a few days yet). I'm left a little confused though as to what my actually UKARA number is though? Is it the five figure number above, or do I wait for an e-mail sent to me that confirms this / give me a number? (my e-mail address was part of what I added to the "list", and I'd like to buy a RIF so that it arrives before the weekend). Thanks. Edit: I had to chase the site a few times to get things processed, and the UKARA "number" was the "registered site" three letters followed by my sites membership number.
  15. I'm too tired to disassemble it yet, but I'm assuming so (and it's a 1st gen one, so original pants hammer). Probably around 1,500 shots I'd say (all semi, apart from a few test shots on auto when I got in December 2020 to play around).
  16. Well, mines dead now, set to semi and one trigger pull = burst of auto and huge dump of gas (and a shitty rental AEG for the rest of the day). Something's broken / snapped, but at least I'm not playing again until mid-July.
  17. Bugger, cold logic gets in the way... I bet you're fun at parties 😉
  18. (I suppose this post is a bit of a "chew the fat" / "speaking out loud" post, however I'd be interest in others thoughts) So, a few key things are about to happen to me regarding airsoft... # I'll have UKARA membership. # I'll be a member of a site under 10 minutes drive from me that offers members free HPA refills. ... and I want to make some changes to my existing pew pew or buy a new one. So I see two options... # Set myself up for HPA on my gas AAP-01 that I use as a primary, so goodbye cooldown, be able to use it all year round outdoors and have an indoors CQB beast. # Buy a Double Eagle M904E, with no silly blue paint on it this time, and batteries + bucking + a few different springs. ... both of which will cost me roughly the same amount. I'm leaning towards HPA, however the AAP-001 is the only gun I have but I could pinch my son's Glock 17 temporarily and use all the HPA kit / mags in this, or should I have a proper Plan B and get the M904E so that I have at least two guns just in case?
  19. Cooldown is why I haven't, and won't, be buying a Black Mamba and end up with all that metal retaining the cold. The drum mag does have an effect though, in that for me it encourages me to spam the trigger a lot more, and I then have to consider how I manage using the pistol as a primary and factor in short periods for it to warm up again before pushing / engaging anyone. At the weekend I'm becoming a member of my local site, which then gives me free on-site HPA refills, so I'm seriously considering tapping the AW drum mag for this as it's just swapping out the input valve (and then putting the gas one back in afterwards and using some maintenance gas for the seals) so no more cooldown worries.
  20. Well that was a full on, but really good, few hours and my youngest son and I are totally knackered out (lots of up and down stair wells) but very happy 😁 We played today, Saturday games open up at 12:00, start around 13:00, and finish at 18:00. Including us only 10 of 35 tickets were sold, but to be honest I think this probably made for a far better game as with a sell out people would have just camped and spammed the trigger. Sneaking around pitch black rooms and corridors between the low lit areas, being wary of shadows, and not knowing if that shape you see is a green or yellow team member made things exciting and tense. With things being at times very close encounters I've never had so many, and so big, bruises 😆 (I've a whopper on my forehead) The marshals were very friendly and a good laugh, people took their hits and the site shop is very good with the usual plus loads of RIF's to buy as well (and my son's now an AAP-01 owner too). Edit: I thought I'd just say, like others on this thread have, that fogging of goggles was really bad for me (I do huff and puff a bit though, I'm not fit) and it was for my teenage son. At times for me it was so bad that I'm thinking of buying an ExFog unit.
  21. My preferred local site has worked hard to get things back to normal, they've put the effort in, and due to this I've decided that I'll buy my BB's and gas from there rather than online even though they cost a little more as they deserve to recover from all this mess.
  22. It's their parent groups website, it's about all they actively publish if you Google them, and if you can get it to load is has links to their airsoft one. I suppose in a positive way they're a company who uses their production facilities (plastic moulding etc.) to produce various hobby products so they'll have some sort of longevity in the market. I agree 100% buffer tube all the way for compatibility, plus I don't personally like PDW stocks on M4's/AR's. I suppose I need to accept that being at the cheaper end of the hobby it won't last forever, but it then becomes a shell for upgrades liek you said.
  23. I'm not made of money and considering "bang for buck" I so want to buy a Double Eagle M904 (probably E) when I have the cash (I'd rather the polymer M904 over the metal variant to keep the weight down). However, at the back of my mind I've this doubt that once DE (being a cheaper end Chinese business) finish their production run / stock is gone will move onto a new platform and spare parts will be non-existent / donor guns for their parts will not be available. They have a URL / website... doubleeagle.cn that re-directs to http://doubleeagle-group.com/ ... but it never loads successfully. I just have a feeling that if I want a genuinely long term AEG, with all the useful features like a decent mosfet / electronic trigger / quick change spring etc., I should be saving up for something much higher end? (Krytac territory).
  24. I've found the 3D printed stuff a bit disappointing really, not the design of it but the quality when bought from a third party. I don't know if they're compromising on the type, size of or amount of filament used but things feel a little too flimsy and with big gaps between the filaments / layers.
