  1. Had this discussion with a chap at work who has started playing. Do I need a scope? I don't care for them personally. At the range we shoot they just give you tunnel vision. Waiting in an ambush position looking through an acog or similar with give you a very narrow window to spot something. With out it you're peripheral vision will help you spot much more. If you use mesh that can make things harder. Maybe some yellow tint lenses or prescription inserts if you need them.
  2. Do not wear mesh or any type. It's like wearing sunglasses. Depending on what the game is you will be shooting less than a regular game day so you won't need uber ammo. If you normally wear trainers (not a dig) wear proper high boots as you won't see rabbit holes very easily. Slow and steady movement. Take a decent torch to break times if you are eating in the woods. A small torch for actual game play. And yes camouflage works exactly the same at night as it does in the day. Black does not make you a predator all of a sudden. Have fun!
  3. Western arms para ordinance and infinity's used to rule the roost. Guided V12's, gigant if you was a looney. Maruzen MP5K's that would blow apart any time. Always wanted a maruzen tech9. Missed out. I used to spend ages flipping through the smk catalogue I remember a guy called Simon at tech brigade buying a western arms U. N. C. L. E p38
  4. If people like you didn't we wouldn't have gotten the M733 and M14 from TM! Trying to think of all the craze weapons now. There was the blackhawk down stuff. Classic army m15cqbr builds. I remember that having the magic gearbox (apparently). Western arms infinity race guns.
  5. It's amazing what you used to get away with pre vcra. I remember going down to wolf armouries with a hard guitar case and buying whatever. Left the boxes in store and put them in the case as it was less obvious on the tube. Different times. Actually the ritual was walk in with my brother, try some stuff on the range, pop next door for an epic kebab and think. Then go back into wolf to purchase the one we chose. Good Times!
  6. You want shady, remember special airsoft supplies? He had quite the reputation for parcels at one point.
  7. I'm about 20 years in now. Good fun in the old day. £300 for a TM M4, that had about a 5 piece barrel held together with grub screws, 2 piece hop unit and lugs that would break if you ever opened it up. To this day... Famas am best gun. Airsoft dynamics was an absolute shit show but had a good player gallery. There seemed to be a lot more variety. When a new gun came out it was often a different weapon rather than a new varient. There was also some great kits if you wanted to put the work in. Anyone remember smokey's? That used to be the only way to get a 74 or something exotic like a Swedish K. UZI's were plentiful, midcaps didn't exist and AEG's were all the rage getting rid of those annoying guns that required external air tanks... Won't see the likes of those again... Sun project Xm177's... Old technology long forgotten... No sir never again... Thanks Marui man!
  8. That's a good point. Generally if using my LCT ak I run mids, but I also have one hicap on me for a "holy shit it's the whole team and I'm about to get charged" moment.
  9. Why specifically 5 and 5? If its to fill out pouches get a couple of hicaps and some wood blocks, then see how you get on. Battle maracas are generally masked by the sound of shooting anyway. Personal preference is towards midcaps and a speed loader.

    VFC FN FAL

Well you say that... If its accurate enough semi should be fine. I've held my own with a trishot and that's ten to a reload. Skirmish wise you'd probably be better off with a 20rnd single shot rifle that an UZI spitting bbs everywhere. I mean realistically any gbbr is at a disadvantage firepower wise. But half the ammo twice the fun!

Sod the FAL, the northeast UZI has reappeared!
  12. I always thought that would make a better weapon than a bayonet. A group of paras charging at you screaming with a rubber cock mounted on the end of their rifle would certainly make me think twice about how much I really wanted to hold my position!
  13. At awa if it mid throw let it fly. If its just struck and you get hit you drop it at your feet. Had this before. One good sniper shot resulted in taking four of us with a friendly grenade. Was a good laugh!
  14. An old claymore bag and good pair of boots is worth more that an airsoft plate carrier. Medical supplies and MRE's are what you want to donate. Either funds for, or the items. As for looking like a pro... In a group of local malitia the last thing I would want is to look like some HVT or advisor! I would much rather have a feild dressing and something to eat if I made it through the day.
  15. https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-gun-manual-spas-12 Fire support have a good range of TM manuals uploaded
  16. I don't count ammo cost really, always cheaper to buy away from the site. Especially if you run a machine gun! I like Awa herts. The walk on has gone up to £30, but with that we have also seen site development. Plus you can't play all the areas in one day so there's a bit of variety. Another place is £25 but you know you will bee playing up and down or across the site. I'd rather spend the extra fiver. You can get a burger at lunch if you want or bring food. But as far a walk on fee goes I'm good with that all day long.
  17. Wow, that takes me back! Haven't seen one of those for decades. I'd be very careful about drilling into the top as it's a shotgun and you don't want to foul anything. You also will want a spacer or something against the mag well to take the strain from cocking it. Marui used to supply a small block for this. Otherwise all the strain from cocking it will be on the small screws you mount a rail with. Not great in a plastic body. Lots of fun though

Ditto, and the king arms slr!
  19. That's a nice thought, but I wanted to be able to switch between the two. I have a socom, ics makarov and variety of sneaky guns.
  20. The socom is a good pistol, I just always liked the beretta. I'd love a Mk22! Even as a high quality springer.
  21. Thats the point of the real one. The slide doesn't move so you get a quiet shot. However you need to manually chamber the next round. The mk23 can do this too I believe. It's quite an interesting gun, check out the video on forgotten weapons Damn, I was afraid of that. Oh well... A look alike it is Thanks for the help.

    Beretta XM9

Hello chaps. Quick question... I'm looking at converting an M9 to an xm9 now the suppressor is available. But being an airsoft gun I assume it works a bit differently. What would happen if the slide on a TM M9 gas blow back was forced not to cycle when firing? Would it blow up? Would the fps suddenly jump to unacceptable levels? Or would it just vent the mag? Before I start fabricating the slide lock it seems that would be something worth knowing...
  23. Hello, model and prop maker here... You say that this prop needs to fire a projectile. I am assuming given the disposable nature of the weapon this will be fired at a person? No go. I'm assuming that this will be an amateur production without any paperwork/production number/insurance... No go. If its for airsoft use then you would need to get inside it. You will also need to look into the law. I don't want to crush your enthusiasm but I don't think you realise just how much shit you can get in here. Some details of what you plan to do with it would be very informative. Given its "story needs" I am pretty convinced that it's for filming. I am very concerned about set safety with anything gun shaped weather if fire blanks or a puff of smoke. You must have a scene outline... So how are you (or your actor) using it?
  24. That could be tempting, waiting on a price for the akm first
  25. A squad of us have booked up awa on the 4th Have a mass of ammo ready for extreme area denial
