  1. Got it, hit it with the blow torch to melt the glue under it. What a bitch that was! But indeed it is a standard thread
  2. Thanks for the help No grub screw or cross pin. And because of the model no wrench point. Just a perfectly round three prong.
  3. I'm trying to remove the flash hider from a VN M16 to replace it with a full birdcage. Before I hit it with a blow torch can anyone confirm that it actually comes off and what thread it has please?
  4. THE CHIEF

    Asahi M60 SDX

What materials is this made from please?
  5. I'm just glad to see some different historical pistols. What I wouldn't give for a TM browning hi power or makarov. I mean it's not like they are uncommon...
  6. The vfc XM148 grenade launcher looks good with their early armalites. I would love to see them combine the FAL and XM to do an aussie sasr L1a1.
  7. I was more interested in the XM148 launchers! I'm on the fence with the 249. Having to carry a stack of magazines is a bit odd. And you will want a pile of them. Nice for milsim or gbb only events. I imagine the parts get very expensive very quickly. £600 to start, that's reasonable. Then all the bits to make it into a mk1, plus at least 10 mags. Plus some bulbs incase you gas out...
  8. About 20 years ago there was a chap at tech brigade who had a phantom aug. He fitted a psg1 inner barrel and padded out the body and around the gearbox with foam. Let me tell you, that thing was quiet and had some real range on it! Maybe something to consider if you want to get fancy.
  9. That takes me back. Just waiting for someone to ask why they haven't bothered making a full metal version 🤔
  10. It was a stock WE nozzle. Had a double feed that managed to mash a round into the chamber and under the hop rubber. The little bit that collects the next round and lifts it up the feed ramp broke. The actual nozzle bit is alright. It cycles well just won't chamber a round any more. These things happen and like I say, an easy fix. The trishot and M79 stood in for the last game.
  11. Well she ran like a champ until the last game when the loading nozzle ate shit. An easy fix. Anyway cheers for a good day and proving to me that gbbrs are viable in crappy weather
  12. Thanks, happy shooting!
  13. Ok peeps, it's going to be pissing down with rain. Npas fitted WE m16. What flavour of gas should I be using? Cheers in advance
  14. Absolutely a npas would be used to keep the fps at a safe and legal limit
  15. To be honest I don't intend to use either, I'm quite happy running it on green gas or propane. It just came up in a conversation as a theoretical at work. Is there any benefit to using a more powerful gas? Does it make it more gas efficient?
  16. Hello gbb knowledgeable's... Question. It's a warm summers day and you are running a WE gbbr. If you have fitted an Npas to bring the fps to a safe limit and run black gas what would happen? Nothing of note, it kicks harder, it blows up?
  17. Vietnam jungle boots for me. Once broken in they are like trainers. But they do need braking in well before a game. Failing that magnum's are great hard wearing boots.
  18. Some days I am an unstoppable killing machine where even a cursory glance at a bush results in 10 crys of HIT!!! Other days I get an absolute beat down never seeing where it came from. Both of them are just as fun to me. I like a good fight. The one thing about airsoft is its not pay to win. Some of the most fun I have had is with a cheap trishot shotgun. Feel free to wander around the safe zone and look at other people's kit. Most players are more than happy to let you give it a try Last time I was at dragons lair I was passing around the M60 to rental players so they could have a blast.
  19. Tadpole sparse tiger stripes for me. Desert tiger stripe if I'm feeling fashionable. Good old DPM if the weather is shite. Faded DPM is like an invisibility cloak when compared to fresh DPM.
  20. As a prop maker I have quite a critical eye for these things. It bothers me when a gun is worn in places that it just wouldn't be. It can be done well, that GPMG above is superb! Looks like the barrel is still warm. But generally let it happen naturally.
  21. Octagon airsoft sell them ready made if you need one
  22. Impressive work. Reminds me of a guy who used to go by candyman on yea olde black and white forums. He made a beautiful walther WA2000 out of a gbb pistol
  23. Anyone bought one of these? I really fancy one but they shoot hot out the box. Apparently the power down shells don't fit. Anyone been able to tame it down a bit?
  24. Best bit of kit. An old claymore bag. It's the little black dress of war. Goes with anything and will hold almost anything you care to take. Need 2 bottles of ammo, a spare battery, water and a pistol? No problem. Worst thing? Ummm... My WE makarov. MY makarov. With the barrel extension its too hot, with it off it shoots about 20ft and won't hop a .25. My Ct25 out shoots it all day. I love the thing but it certainly needs some work out the box. After marui's akm I really hope they make a decent makarov PM.
