  1. Have you switched it to auto and squeezed the trigger? May be a lock up. Also check that the mosfet is properly connected. My son's Specna had really dodgy connectors to the Aster, so that's been replaced by a Perun.
  2. I hope not, because I know I'd buy one 😆
  3. Of course they'll sell. I say that in my comment. I'm just disappointed that they aren't doing anything different, but as they manufacture exclusively for the Japanese market, external trends aren't a consideration and I understand that. Their 'unusual guns'as you put it are generally based on anime or video games, reflecting the interests of their customer base. Doesn't stop me from being disappointed that all of their new guns are fundamentally dull, and I say that as someone who runs TM M4-based rifles and a Glock.
  4. New MWS build. I've been startingly original and daring in building another URG-I, but in long boi flavour, to join its schtumpig sibling (points if you get the film reference there!) Mostly HAO and Magpul externals, with a couple of BavTac bits inside; Zet plate, nozzle spring and hop nub. I've put a waaaaay too long description of the parts and the build experience in the MWS thread because clearly I had too much time on my hands when I was on leave.
  5. Tokyo Marui MWS SOCOM URG-I Build Having started purchasing parts in February, having had some time off last week, I finally got round to building her. Parts list: · Tokyo Marui MWS M4A1 Carbine base · HAO Mk16 13.5” handguard · HAO SOCOM Daniel Defense 14.5” outer barrel · HAO Surefire 4-prong flash hider · HAO Geiselle low profile gas block · HAO Geiselle Ultra Precision trigger guard · HAO Geiselle Super Precision 1.93” scope mount · HAO SF 556 SOCOM suppressor (hardcore version) · Angry Gun Geiselle Airborne Charging Handle · Magpul K2+ grip · Magpul M-LOK hand stop · Magpul SL Stock · Magpul BAD lever · BavTac Magic Hop Nub · Bavtac Titanium Zet Plate · BavTac 140% nozzle return spring · Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x 24 scope · WADSN metal NGAL · Element Surefire M600C Scout light · Blue Force Gear padded VCAS (Olive Drab) · Blue Force Gear QD sling swivel x2 The build took a bit longer than I anticipated for a couple of reasons, mainly removing the trigger box to install the BavTac Zet plate. What an absolute bastard to remove and it took an age. In the process I also managed to dislodge one of the sear springs, so I had to open the trigger box to re-seat it. Fitting the HAO rail was more troublesome than I remember when I installed the 9.3” version. Getting one of the bolts to slide through the groove on the barrel nut wasn’t as slick this time. The rest of the externals were fine, standfast the trigger guard, which needed material removing to fir properly. This was slightly annoying/disappointing as HAO are usually ninjas with their products. Anyway, a few minutes filing got it fitted nice and flush. Apart from the Zet plate, hop nub and nozzle return spring, the gun has stock internals. Out of the box, on ASG Ultrair, the gun was pinging .28s out to 60m at around 1.1j, with the effective range being around 50-55m. Range and power-wise, it’s still in the same ballpark as out of the box, with the GM Pmags giving a 5-8 fps increase, adding barely noticeable increase to the power output. Using heavier ammo though, wow! Using .32s it was getting to the 70m mark with loads of adjustment left on the hop. However, accuracy was all over the place, with BBs pinging every which way with no consistency. Tearing the front end down again, the hop rubber and hop chamber were covered in silicon oil. Rookie mistake! Hoping that’s solved it because when they flew straight it was awesome. So, what’s good and what’s bad about the latest addition to my arsenal? The good; well, it’s an MWS! It works and works and works. The BavTac Zet plate is awesome, with the bolt catching every time, even with the Guns Modify Pmags, and the MHN is a serious contender for the SixG brass nub. The finished gun, although fairly commonplace, also looks incredible IMHO. The bad? Apart from the hop/silicon debacle, not much more than the suppressor really. I made a huge mistake getting the hardcore version. It’s beautifully finished and the QD system is great, compared with the Angry Gun version I have. It’s just too damned heavy though at 525g. I really should have bought the standard version. How I’ll feel lugging this around an airsoft field tomorrow I don’t know, but I’m chuffed with the result! URGI Build.mp4
  6. Looks a decent job that, Jim. Get them mags done next 😆
  7. Jim's nailed it. Airsoft ballistics have too many variables affecting them to zero an optic effectively. Just get your hop set for your choice BB weight so that you have a nice, flat trajectory with a little lift at the end. Set up a 20/25m target and with the same POA drop 5 rounds down, then adjust your optic to match the POI and leave the hop well alone. As noted, heavier BBs will give more consistent results. Apologies if this is a patronisingly noddy explanation that you already know.
  8. It's a good job TMs work so well because they're really lacking imagination when it comes to broadening their range. I know people still buy them in droves (guilty) but come on man. An M4, a Glock and an MP5? Really?
  9. Seems plausible. To be honest, I thought this was for the GM mags, which look to be a bit of a faff to break down 😆
  10. The GM mags are decent, but fiddly to load. They look great and are a bit punchier than TM mags. Not as reliable though. I just had another three delivered today, with one more on the way. Look to the HK retailers as they're £42-£45 ea.
  11. Usually every couple of months, but hoping to increase again to once a month. My son also having a hectic football schedule means he can't join in every time, so I keep an eye out for Saturday games too. I do try and get to the range more frequently though, even for a couple of hours. Sometimes that's preferable to playing. Less cost, less kit, less hit taking
  12. Anyone know how this Guns Modify MWS magazine maintenance tool works?
  13. Sounds like you're having a shocker. My mags were delivered earlier this afternoon, containg a big pink sticker on the package saying AIRSOFT 🤣
  14. That's my plan for next time. To be fair, it's not been a massive chore, but, as @GeorgePlaysAirsoft points out, as my order was just for parts, the form makes no sense. I'm taking it as a good sign that I had an email asking me to pay the customs charge (first one from using WGC and more than £50 on a £200 order) earlier today. Hoping for delivery tomorrow or Friday. @PewPew4U when did they say you'd get your delivery? ** Edit ** Bizarrely, as I posted this, I've just received a text thanking me for my payment and saying I can expect delivery tomorrow. Cool.
  15. UKARA is a bit murky, is a bit fluffy and a bit tick boxey, but if it's a way we can continue to buy RIFs and not dayglo IFs or gel blasters, I'll continue supporting it.
  16. I filled in similar; airsoft RIF parts, UKARA number etc. Checking my phone earlier this evening, I noticed a missed call and checking the number it was the same as the UPS email. I may call tomorrow to follow up. Glad yours got sorted Dave
  17. That's awesome. And a manometer as well? If you do take the plunge and buy it, I hope you add a Flannel Daddy-style white lab coat to your order, because, you know. Science! My testing won't be anywhere near as well executed 😂 Heartening to hear about the Warhead ammo as I had a bag of .32s delivered last week. I'm sure that the stock barrel will be just fine, but having fitted a Crazy Jet to my Glock, and seeing the range increase from 20m at best, to 40m+, I may consider getting one in for the MWS.
  18. @PewPew4U had an email from UPS today asking me to fill in a declaration form for the mags I ordered from WGC. Hope I filled it in correctly. I wanted them for this weekend! Any luck with your order?
  19. Thanks all for your suggestions. @Joe142 @Shamal I agree about 5.11 kit. Had a few bits over the years for airsoft and while I was serving., and found them to be of decent, rugged quality. Always keeping an eye out for a bargain on the 190l CAMS bag. This is what I bought earlier in the year after, like you @TheFull9 not finding anything suitable at my go-to kit retailers, and most of the gun stores I've used also coming up blank. I like the design and amount of storage in the DSLEAF, especially for mags, but the rifles never feel properly secure and, with two rifles and 7 gas mags, the stitching on the shoulder strap gave way. @gavinkempsell unfortunately, a couple of the sites I go to have a bit of a walk from the car park to the safe zone, so having a suitably sized, sturdy grip is necessary. @RostokMcSpoonsgood shout! Heading there now.
  20. My thoughts exactly Wavey. Hoping it is that simple. Can't imagine it's anything else as, mechanically everything else I touched seems to be working fantastically. I won't deny having sex fingers though, that have a tendency to fuck everything they touch, so you never know 😂 On my other MWS I don't remember .32s doing that well, but I think I should give them another chance based on today's trial. What hop/barrel set-up are you using to get those results? And of course, which gas? (The Vorsk cans arrived today so I'm ready to test, once I sort the hop issue)
  21. So this 👆is the fruit of my labour. I'm going to post a bunch of pics I took during the build and put a parts list together to bore you all with, but today was about getting it onto the range to see what it could do. A couple of weeks ago, as an out-of-the-box M4A1 Carbine, it was hitting out to 60m on .28g BBs and Ultrair, with a good degree of accuracy, which, for me means hitting a Figure 11, roughly centre-mass, at that distance. Made me smile, and smile and smile. Today, testing this iteration was, well, a huge disappointment. Although the range was like-for-like on .28s and green gas, I just could not get any consistency in shots. One would go straight as a die, resulting in a nice metallic 'clink' off the target. The next would fall short, barely half the distance, then another would fuck off into the stratosphere. Adjusting the hop made very little difference to the randomness of the shots. The only internal changes I made were a different Zet plate (which worked brilliantly) an enhanced nozzle return spring and a different hop nub, all by BavTac. I can only assume that, while replacing the hop nub, either the nub or hop rubber is not sitting squarely. Adding weight to this theory is the fact that, with the can on, BBs were shattering before leaving the barrel, or dribbling out like it had a prostate problem. Any other thoughts on root cause before I whip the tools back out? On the plus side, chucking in .3s and .32s, still with regular green gas, when a shot did go straight, it was heading to the 70m target, so I'm hopeful that when I get this sorted, it'll be chucking white plastic death out to decent distances. Oh, and IMHO it looks gorgeous. Yes, it's another URG-I, but it's still a handsome beast. Gas testing will have to wait. I now have 8 variants to try in the name of science...and bored curiosity.
  22. "I'm going to count to three. There will not be a four."
  23. I've only been hands on with the TM MWS and, echoing most thoughts above, the finish, feel and performance is tremendous. If you're not going to skirmish it though, you may be better looking elsewhere. You mention breaking the rifle down, and for that, the MWS internals don't tick the realism box. TM designed a performance-based proprietary system for the trigger box (the Zet system) which looks nothing like a real trigger group. I know GHK internals look more realistic, but haven't seen inside the VFC offerings. VFC externals are great and, if you go the HK416 route of M4-type gats, they are officially licensed, so trades are bob-on. I also understand VFC internals are way better than they were, so will be more than fine for a spot of backyard plinking or if you do decide to take it onto a game site. GHK however seem to be on a downward spiral in the QC department, but others can probably provide personal experience instead of me spreading rumours.
