M4 has the effing marine trades... Grr. Despite the one pictured have no trades... I KNEW M4s had trades on both sides. There should be some visible on the right side under the ejection port/bolt assembly. I could've chosen the Colt trades for the sake of £5 if I'd ordered from LWA instead of ShitArmouries as well Additionally, it doesn't have a fake bolt, the dust cover is the only thing that hides the cylinder and hop unit from view, which I'm slightly disappointed by. I can't help but think Wolf used a photo displaying the right hand side of the gun with the dust cover closed as a tactical potential boost for their marketing... Assholes. -

I couldn't find it with RIS anywhere and I only have a limited budget. Also, I swear there are usually trades on both sides. -

I'm sure you can still get blank receivers. I definitely can't see any on the photo shown in the link I posted above. So long as it's not the effing Marine body I'm not too bothered. Apparently the Colt receiver is sometimes used on the L119 so it wouldn't be all that inaccurate if it had that. But I do have a passionate hatred of the Marine trades. -

I don't particularly but they have the most aftermarket parts available when it comes to external compatibility. Plus, it's a project gun, so if it's bad I'll just swap out every inch of the internals. As it stands the only thing I'm planning on keeping are the stock and stock tube and the internals, maybe the receiver too if it's a blank one. I'm going to get a custom barrel extension, the C8 receiver (or have the current one engraved) swap the grip, add RIS, swap the front sight post/gas block and stick an ACOG on it. Also planning on running it at 350 fps with a 6.01mm tightbore - I want to test for myself if the jamming rumours and poor accuracy are true. -

How on earth did you snap a selector plate...? Anyway, I just ordered this for my L119A1 build: http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/...ct&id=GP286 The barrel is slightly too long... by half an inch... BUT Perr_mike has offered to shorten it for me for only £10 and that includes rethreading it and the return postage. Absolutely phenomenally awesome guy. -
I always thought it'd be really awesome to have a nothing but snipers game, where everyone has to be mega tactical and move slowly in the prone position to avoid being spotted. Having to make calculated one shot kills and be wary that others will see your tracers, muzzle flash etc. So having to shoot from a concealed position. All about concealment, stealth, marksmanship and patience. Just my cup of tea. Unfortunately, no one else on earth seems to like the sound of that, meaning it will never happen in a million years... =[

Wow, well that sucks. I honestly think that Armoured Kill is going to be immensely sh*t on console. 12 players per team is no where near enough for maps as big as they're suggesting. It'll take about 10 minutes to find one guy.

I was just playing through the campaign to get the Semper Fidelis achievement and something occurred to me. There's a Barret M107 in the campaign, it's in one of the last missions when you're playing as the Russian guy and you get to use it equipped with a thermal sight. Soooo.... Do you think Dice would really go to the trouble of making a gun for the game and then restricting it to campaign use only? Every other weapon in the campaign is available online, every single one. I think that the Barret might be an unlock for the next expansion, Armoured Kill - it's the largest calibre small arm in the game and it lends itself to mega range engagements and Armoured Kill is meant to include the largest Battlefield Map ever made. Just a thought.

It's quite easy to actually mount the unit, it's the wires that make it a massive pain in the arse, they have a tendency to move away from the spot where you placed them whilst trying to get the gearbox shell back together. The wires also break VERY easily, I had to rewire the motor connectors about 7 times trying to get them the right length so I didn't have to bend them to snapping point. So the first time you try, leave yourself enough wire spare for a second try. Before closing the gearbox up make sure the sensor that monitors the sector gear, and the gear itself are in EXACTLY the place it tells you in the manual, if it's even slightly wrong you'll end up with the gun locking on semi every few shots because the unit will cut the motor power slightly before a full cycle, so eventually you'll get the tappet plate stuck at it's middle point and the gun will jam. Also, you'll need your selector plate to have a metal strip on it, if it's entirely plastic you'll need to swap it out. -
If you can stick some photos up somewhere then I might be tempted. How much are you after, and what size is it?

I am going for MTP Josh, I've got the trousers sorted. Still looking for a UBACS I can try on before I buy it, last time I tried a "Medium" the arms were big enough to fit my entire body through... So I don't want to order a "Medium" online and get something miles too big. I'm not even a small guy =/ I know that companies make replica gear, like Helikon making a copy of MTP, but does anyone make a copy MTP UBACS? 'Cos if so it might have more sensible sizing. I doubt I'll ever manage to get the proper plate carrier though, I don't honestly think they look that great and they cost a bomb. Plus, isn't it illegal for civvies to own the current issue one or something? For the time being I've got an OD shirt and I'm running a Multicam rig, which I think looks more or less exactly the same as MTP anyway. If Ian's old helmet fits me then I'll be grabbing that off him at the end of the month as well, so that'll put me a step closer.

Liam, if you want to make the trigger spring less... Springy... Then instead of poking the spring through the hole cut in the trigger, just hook it around the back of the trigger. Works just the same but gives it less springiness. -
Wow you have been busy, I've not spoken to you for aaggeessss. We need to organise our awesome airsofting weekend thing, I'm thinking October half term if you're good for then? I ought to have money by then, I could come and visit for my birthday weekend or something. =D

That's how I felt Craig. It's a great rifle waiting to happen, it's just that the version 2 gearbox is so horrible to work with that I'd actually rather pay for someone else to do it than me do it myself... Except I couldn't be arsed to do that either, hence why I offered it up for sale. The bloody motor connectors were doing my head in, really ended up buggering up the soldering, the soldering iron I've got is about as good as an old man with a dab-on blowing on the bloody solder... The selector/cycling/feeding issues can be sorted by fiddling around with the selector plate a bit, the firing issues are just a case of fiddling with the gears a bit. So, gears, selector plate, motor connection and job's a good 'un. Nothing ought to need replacing, just a bit of a readjustment, bit of new wire and that's it. Shouldn't cost anything major, just standard service costs and the labour charge. If it comes to more than that then they're just trying to milk you like a money cow. You might want to cut the spring down slightly as well, it's got a brand new M120 in it at the moment and I never got chance to chrono it, but I'd guess it's pushing 370 if not higher. Good luck with it anyway, I'd been planning on turning it into a USMC FN M16A4, complete with licensed FN receiver with "Burst" on the selector and everything. -

The MTP cover and skrim net would be ace if you wouldn't mind. The holster is indeed black, yeah. Edge rubber? -
I'm not really a massive fan either, I hate the control's layout, I hate that's they're only single action and I think the safety is totally stupid... Or at least my MEU safety is stupid. It can only be engaged when the hammer is cocked and it also locks the slide. You might as well just not cock the hammer, it's exactly the same. Except just having to cock the hammer would reduce the number of needless parts, relating to stupid needless safety catches... Additionally, I hate the damn beaver tail grips, sometimes they can make the pistol almost impossibly uncomfortable to hold. I had a go with a TM Dragon something-or-other a few weeks back and the beaver tail was under so much spring tension that I had to squeeze the damn thing so hard that I couldn't aim it or pull the trigger without losing my aim completely. It also makes it a massive pain in the ass to de-cock the hammer slowly, to avoid discharging the weapon. I also think it's crazy retarded how none of the updated models have been given higher capacity magazines. If the HK USP .45 can hold 12 shots, why is the MEU still only holding 7 or 8? Couldn't they maintain the design but widen it to make room for a double stack mag? It's like they're limiting the capacity on purpose. I also don't like that the spring guide under the barrel doesn't stick out of the slide with the barrel when the slide is locked to the rear. I know it makes no difference to the performance or function, but when it's out with the barrel it just looks so much better in my opinion. M1911s lack that and it's one of the main things I dislike about them haha. I only got my MEU because the kick with CO2 was so epic that I felt like it got me a step closer to knowing what it's like to fire a real semi-auto lol. Sigs are the best. So ergonomic it's untrue. Every pistol ought to be a Sig. It must suck to be left handed. Sigs must be super sh*t for lefties lol.

Ian, if you're getting rid of your old helmet, bring it to Skirmish on the 29th and if it fits me and suits my gear then I might take it off your hands. Still up for that holster swap too? -

New M120 for the L85 - still running the stock spring, I think getting a newer one might be a good plan, it's been 7 months since I got the gun and it's seen more use than any other gun I've ever owned. Stock spring is still going strong, just fancied a new one haha. M130 for the L85, see if it makes a good DMR - couldn't find an M140 =[ 430fps ought to be enough lol Really ought to have got some .36s to go with the spring... Bollocks. Viper single point bungie sling - my 3 point is on its way out, a buckle went the other day. I always use it with the clip unfastened, which basically makes it a one point, so I figured I might as well just buy a one point... Black Begadi gloves - thought they looked cool. Also appear to have leather tips, which means I can cut them off without having to worry about them fraying like a mother bitch... Like my Viper ones. I just hope that my hands are "Medium". A pistol belt - wanted something that fit the belt loops on my MTP trousers a bit better. And some mesh goggles for my brother 'cos it's his birthday. Got them in tan to piss him off. Trololololol. -
Slugs + M1014 + Extended mag + Eotech = Win! I used to really hate shotguns, but you have to use them if you want to get all the weapons, so I chose that set up for a bit more range and omg, I totally bossed that game. The damn thing's like a laser cannon.
-
I've got two spares if you want me to post you one? They're not the standard part that comes with the kit, but they fit fine and do the job. I assume you mean the one that screws in under the trigger guard? Since that's the only screw, apart from the long sling swivel screw.

Pfft, you n00b Nick, that's nothing. Ahaha. -
Gun master you mean? It's terrible. Worst game mode ever in my opinion. Basically, you start off with a pistol, then for every two kill you get, you get a new gun. So you have a gun, get two kills, get another gun etc etc. Once you've got through 16, you have to get a knife kill to win. So it's the first to get through all the guns, basically.

Just thought I'd add that photos of this with all the external gear attached to it are now in the gun picture thread on page 44. Once I've got all the internal wiring and stuff sorted out over the next week or so, photos will be getting added here.

Cheers CK, I'll look into it.
