I'm not taken by either particularly. One of these days I will pick up a glock with a plastic slide and barrel. I'll stipple the whole thing from the barrel to the mag base. Just for shits and giggles.
I think we can all agree something with a handsome ginger bearded man wearing dungarees, possibly a vest. In a shed mumbling about springer pistols and the odd obscure gas pistol is the ultimate in airsoft youtube blog/review/jibberish.

Not yet. It's the TM springer but for a springer it's probably the most conventionally skirmishable. Fires 270fps, stock it's set to hop 0.2 but I tweaked it to 0.23. Pump action function and slam fires. Accurate to boot.
Friend of mine has ran his tm m9 on gg from the start, must be 16 years old now. As above only tm slide notable of breaking is the gold match , that said still probably rare. Also can't rule out the possibility they've been bashed about or run on high pressure gas in high temps for prolonged periods.
just chrono with what ever the weight in the gun and measure in joules. Some say you don't need above what ever weight in cqb and that is true but I have some not particularly power full guns with fixed hops that need heavier weights to fly right. Also some with hops that are hard to set or finicky which I don't want to fiddle with non of which go over the joule limit.
In 17 years even with shit mesh I'm yet to come across a single in game incident where anyone has received any serious or lasting eye damage from a bb breaking on mesh. I've personally had bits go in my eye on over 10 occasions now in those years and continue to wear it based on my personal experience. If they are gonna throw mesh under the bus they better ban non-sealed eye pro too. There has been countless well detailed in game incidents where people have received permanent sight damage due to whole bbs getting in eye pro. Which is even worse when it happens in close quarters, I've seen it happen. 2 people I know have limited sight in one eye because of it . I don't think anyone should be dictated to whether it be mesh or non-sealed eye-pro.
Has it got a different non stock shut off/rocket valve in the nozzle? Looking into it there's 2 versions both come with the stopper/rocket. One is high flow and a 1J one https://www.airsoftzone.co.uk/reinforced-nozzle-ver-2-japan-1j-for-marui-mp7-gbb-guns-modify.html
Have you experience with it ? I'm no expert. From what I've read they're better in some ways but not others. Both as stock tms having the better longevity and hop. Kwa more power and recoil . Also the bolt stop system being more reliable in the tm.
Grand scheme they cost a lot for what they give extra. But if you want those extra functions they are still one of the only guns that do those extras reliably (as long as you leave it alone), and they are good as stock. I think Lukes point (the guy in the vid) is the attitude that some people have it's a must to change everything as soon as you get it to make them good/worth using. When in fact they are perfectly use-able without and will more often than not last along time if you leave them the hell alone. I changed the hop, barrel and run a plug and play mosfet in mine. Went from 280 fps to 315fps and puts no extra strain on the GB. Side by side to a fully upgraded ones there is FA in it. Once it dies I'll do more to it but till then I'll leave it the hell alone.
Seemed silly to mention it and not post . Recently found a lower front sight which is a much better always niggled me. Also added a Decepticon sticker and labeled my ejection port. All the important upgrades.
