I've tried getting answers to this on several forums , including this one in the quick answers for quick questions section , but without success. Even Reddit Airsoft which normally moves pretty quickly has failed to get me even one response. So I decided to come back here and give it one last try. Can the E2 grips on an airsoft Sig P226 be replaced by the original E1 grips. The E1 hammer spring base is pretty substantial, too big for the E2 grips to clear it. But the E2 hammer spring base is much smaller and the E1 grips are bigger. So am I right in thinking that the E1 grips are a straight fit to a gun purchased with an E2 grip? Or can the E1 grips only be attached if there is an E1 hammer spring base behind the grip frame? Most people prefer the E2 grips but I am an exception. I bought a Sig with E2 grips and now wish I had bought one with the original E1 grips. is there anything I can do about it, other than sell the E2 and buy an E1 gun?

True enough. However, I'm sure Marui is secretly very pleased that its guns sell all over the world. The retailers and distributors who order them from Japan are paying Tokyo Marui after all. And sales to the rest of the world must make a huge contribution to their overall profit.

Thanks again.

Depends what you want it for. If for skirmishing then reliabilityand accuracy are everything. In which case TM is the most sensible choice. They don't need anything doing to them and will probably last a lifetime. If you insist on metal and will only use the pistol occasionally, there are several WE guns that have decent performance: Glocks, P226, Beretta PX4 I believe these were originally put together by HK3P (which is now I think part of WE) and are superior to other WE products. They have close - but probably not complete - compatibility with TM versions. I've also heard the latest WE M9A1 is not bad. I don't think there is much point in paying more for metal guns from KWA, VFC, etc. They are generally more expensive than WE, and have nicer externals but often have reliability issues. And parts are not so easy to access.

Are the lower frames for the E2 and E1 versions of the Sig P226 identical ie. are the grips interchangeable? I imagine they are not interchangeable but just wanted to check.

Guarder do replacements for the 226 but I don't think there is anything off the shelf available for the compacts.

Do you think the pot metal in TM rifles is any better in quality and sturdiness than that used in Chinese and Taiwanese guns? Or is all airsoft pot metal crap?

Would it be worth spraying this with clear matt plastikote before attachment, in order to stop the sand paper particles from rubbing away too easily. Would it actually work?
-
Is it an aeg or one of the new Lonex gbbrs?
-
No. The barrel is as new.

Thanks a lot.

I want to paint the stock outer barrel of my TM hi capa black. Do I need to sand off the silver finish or rough it up a bit first or can I just spray black over it? Do I need to use an undercoat?

Recently put a Guarder Tanio Koba tactical grip on my TM 5.1. If you do this I advise you to ditch the hammer spring that comes with the Guarder and use the TM one. The former is much too strong and will stop the slide from going back fully and locking after the last bb has been fired. I have encountered one other problem with mine. It fits, looks good and cycles fine. However if I put a tiny bit more pressure on the trigger without pressing down on the backstrap safety it will still fire. This is a serious safety issue. I am assuming it has to do with the leaf spring, and hoping that it can be cured by bending said spring slightly. Or do I need to tighten or loosen the screw on the adjustable the trigger ? Could anyone kindly confirm or advise?

I would buy a WE Glock over a VFC any day. In fact I did.

Best Pistol Lower Rail Torch/ Flashlight

I know the O Light is better. But I bought the Surefire clone because I had a holster that was designed to fit it. -
Best Pistol Lower Rail Torch/ Flashlight

I bought a Surefire X300 clone from Hong Kong about two years ago. Cost me about £30. Works fine. Why pay more? -
I just wondered how many owners load from the top and how many from the bottom. With something like a TM hi capa it is relatively easy to load from the bottom because the bb channel opening widens after a couple of cm. It is relatively easy to hold down the spring and squirt in five bbs at a time from a speed loader. You can't do it so easily with the TM M9A1 though. With the M9A1 jor a WE Glock you have to pull the spring a long way down to get the bbs in from the bottom. The spring is hard to hold on to, and I always get more bbs on the floor than in the mag. I've always been wary of using a speed loader to load from the top since the mag lips are pretty fragile. But recently I have taken to loading one at a time by hand from the top. It takes longer but the bbs seem to settle better in the mag.

Thanks for the replies. I know WE hi capas are crap. I acknowledged that in my post. So are their Browning, Luger, M&P, 1911 etc. But their Glocks and Sigs are not. In fact they are arguably superior to the KJW ones - partly, I am told , because they were not originally produced by WE but by some outfit in Hong Kong. It is true though that KJW hi capas are the best all metal alternatives to TM, and their Sigs and Berettas have a decent reputation, but their Glocks are not generally considered better than the WE ones.. As I mentioned, I know WE 1911s have a rotten reputation. I know that in terms of mag capacity all 1911s are crap. But if you read my post again you will see that all I want is a gun that will fire 10 shots from a mag fill. Both WE and KJW will probably do that. With WE the problem is said to be parts failure in short order. With KJW the problem is their crappy magazines. Which gives me a choice between a gun that soon might cease to function and a magazine which soon might cease to function. The KWC runs on CO2 which is not a power source I like, or appropriate for somebody who wants to blast out 10 bbs occasionally. I am beginning to the think that the plastic TM might be the best choice after all. If I wanted it for skirmishing it would have been no contest, but I was looking for something that would double as a display piece, and plastic guns rarely look like the real steel.

If I needed it for skirmishing, I would go for a TM. But I only want it for occasional plinking and display. And so I would like it in metal. A TM with a metal kit would be far too expensive for my needs.. So that more or less leaves WE vs KJW. A lot of people say the latter is better made and TM compatible. However I happen to think that some WE pistols are better than the KJW versions eg. the Glock, Sig P226 and M9 A1. KJW pistols have that glossy look I don't like and their mags have a reputation for leaking. WE have a matt finish and their mags are more reliable. They are not TM clones but WE parts are widely available and cheap. I like the MEU but the KJW has rails which I don't want, while the WE doesn't. The real steel 1911 takes seven bullets so, if I only load 10 bbs in a gas mag, fire and top up, I would still be getting mor shots than the real thing. That being the case would the WE be a reasonable choice, or does KJW still win out? I know WE's 1911s and hi capas have a dreadful reputation, but people still buy them. Have there been any improvements in quality control over the years Somebody on another forum wrote about the WE 1911 version 2, but I have no idea if this is a thing. I know they have a version two Beretta (the M9A1 which actually is a TM clone) but I had never heard of an improved 1911.

We Beretta Long Barrel and Cybergun Desert Eagle Usage
emilianoksa replied to Henners's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Use weaker gas or put them on full hop. -
Thanks for the kind offer..

Good points Wolf. Since I have never had a gbbr before and will use the gun more for plinking than anything else, perhaps I should just reduce my outlay by getting a WE G36c or a Scar L. Have heard bad things about the G36c mags though. The cheap, fragile, plastic base plates that is.

Thanks very much to you all for the detailed replies. I agree with Captain Darling about AKs vs M4s. I belong to a generation that probably has a special fondness for the AK platform. I love the way they look and once owned two LCT AK aegs. I also had a G&G metal M4 which didn't rock my boat in the looks department like the AKs. However, I have to admit that when it came to ergonomics the M4 was a much better platform. AKs aren't really very comfortable to wield and fire. M4s are much easier to carry and manoeuvre. When it came to using them I found myself picking up the M4 more often than the AK. When it came to looking at them, I looked at the AKs more often.😄 I think if I ever considered shelling out five hundred quid or more on a GHK AK, I might just change my mind on the platform at the last minute and go for a TM MWS instead.
