  1. I know that the plastic used by Marui often turns shiny with use. This has been the case with many of its earlier pistols, notably the G17 Gen 3. Do the later, improved TM pistols suffer from the same problem, or have Marui found a way eliminate, or at least limit it?
  2. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I forgot. I don't know if all Airsoft Masterpiece hi capa slides have the notch, but the Springfield Armory one certainly does.
  3. Some UK retailers will export to the States. As someone who has done it the other way round - I recently bought an Airsoft Masterpiece hi capa slide from Airsoft Junkiez in Georgia - I can tell you that the postage was very expensive.
  4. The essentials are a stronger nozzle and recoil spring. Don't go overboard on the spring. 120% is more than enough. Depending on which make of slide you get, you may have to look at a metal barrel. I ran my TM with an Airsoft Masterpiece slide and the original plastic TM outer barrel for quite a while, without problems, but I don't know about other makes. Since the outer barrel on the Gold Match is non dropping, it will probably be fine with a metal slide. I would always advise TM hi capa owners to get an AM slide. They are nicely made, reasonably priced and a straight fit.
  5. TM and WE have much better parts availability than GHK, VFC or KWA. And WE gbbrs and their parts are cheaper than Marui ones.
  6. I'll have a look when I get back home and check for the notch. Is the Loctite 243 variant OK for the front sight job? https://www.bearing-king.co.uk/bearing/loctite-243-medium-strength-oil-tolerant-10ml/5721?gclid=Cj0KCQjwvqeUBhCBARIsAOdt45bC5PmAQKY-h8IDLaSNKm1iw3fnV5sxrzP8TRflCH2xD6NTjCSPXdUaAnKwEALw_wcB
  7. Thanks again Jim. I know it is a bit fiddly, but is it any more fiddly than normal full disassembly and reassembly of the TM Glock? Is putting the TM parts into a Guarder frame more difficult than putting them back into a TM frame.
  8. Thanks again.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I am surprised that a thread locker would have the strength to hold the sight. I thought Loctite thread lockers were designed only for screws.
  10. I've had a couple of Airsoft Masterpiece slides for my hi capas. Hi capa front sights are a friction fit and the TM front sights were a tight fit on both of them, and required quite a lot of tapping with a brass hammer. However my latest slide from AM is a loose fit and I am not sure whether to glue it or shim it. If I decided to glue it, which product would you recommend? Would an epoxy glue hold it for long given the blowback? If I were to shim it, how would you advise me to do it? And with what material?
  11. That bad eh? I just don't like the idea of filing down a TM bbu to get it into the Guarder slide. I don't mind the plastic TM slide, but I think Marui Glock frames look cheap. Doesn't take them long to get shiny. I was just wondering if parts also had to be filed down to fit the Guarder frame. What about the WE frame? Anything would be better than the ABS Marui uses. I am not generally into filing pot metal down, although I do take a file to outer barrels on WE Glocks to reduce the chances of them snapping and exiting the frame.
  12. I know fitting a Guarder slide to a TM Glock can be a pain in the arse. But what if I wanted to keep the TM plastic slide and replace the TM frame with a Guarder one? Is it as hard to fit Marui internals to a Guarder frame as it is to fit them to a slide? Or is it more of a straight fit?
  13. Thanks Jim, but I mistakenly left out the important part. I know the ARs are ceratkoted. Is the AKM gbb also cerakoted?
  14. Is the pot metal of the receiver on the TM gbbr cerakoted?
  15. Very nice. What make is it? And is that its original finish?
  16. Thanks to you both for the advice.
  17. I referred the UKARA number - of a member of this forum who wants to buy a rif from me - to a retailer. I received a reply telling me that this UKARA number is valid until Sept of this year. However I was also told that the site the buyer plays at needs to renew proof that it has valid insurance with UKARA. I was told they do this by sending a copy of their insurance....... But the email doesn't tell me who to send the copy to. It is too late for me to email the retailer again for clarification until Monday, and the seller is waiting to finalise the deal. I imagine the copy has to be sent to some official site, and not to me, but this is the first time I have encountered such a message, and I am not sure what to do. Would anybody care to advise me or comment?
  18. Thanks for the reply. Are there deep engraving services available for pot metal airsoft guns, or is etching a better alternative?
  19. If I wanted to have trades put on a pistol and also have it cerakoted, which job should be done first? Or does it not matter?
  20. I was just about to renew an advert that expired a while ago, when I came across a reference to a renewal fee of £2. There was also a reference to free renewal. Could somebody kindly explain what this means. I always assumed adverts on the Sales Section were for private sales only. Is the service also available for commercial advertisers?
  21. Just to let you all know, it did arrive and the next day at that.
  22. Just surprised you managed to get what looks like a back strap on a TM G19 Gen 3. Or are my eyes deceiving me?
  23. Is that the TM Glock19 or the Umarex/VFC one? If you don't mind me asking.
