Thank you for the heads up, its one thing to recognise the dodgy pm's, but out of the 4 members he targeted, you were the only one to raise the alarm, without that he'd be free to keep sending pm's until he got lucky, especially targeting new members.

Found him, Russian scammer, he's gone? Edit: my bad, there's 2 of them, similar sounding names, both gone now but one had sent 4 pms, so 3 other members targeted, hope they didn't fall for it?

Something definitely amiss, earlier i found myself looking at Lejife's profile, 4 posts & the ip was all over the place via a vpn, which isn't unusual generally but would usually include some UK locations, but these were in some of the most obscure locations of the globe, kinda fishy. I think ill be dusting off the BanHammer? (Its not like I've allowed it to get dusty lately ?)

@Klesin, what are the rifs you're selling ? I ask as this sounds like a lot of aggro for something that might be easily available either in the USA, or shipped in from a far east retailer, silly tariffs from the ?man aside lol.

I'm inclined to agree, Just-Cos has been proven to be a load of shite that can only go wrong eventually, with potential repercussions to every law abiding player, something none of us wants. On the basis that the majority of forum members have voiced opposition to the Just-Cos setup, I don't think there's any more productive discussion can be had, so im locking the thread. If anyone feels im wrong to do this, please pm me & we'll discuss it further.

Gotta agree, & the only retailer that accepts it know they've got you over a barrel, pay their prices or no gnus for you. Yep ukara takes a bit more effort, & cost, but ultimately if you've got a site close to you, & possibly a mate to lend you a gun, the costs can be kept very low & recouped easily by increasing the buying options, both in the uk & abroad. Obviously there are others ways to prove entitlement to a defence, I haven't had ukara for years but get by.

You can sell for whoever you like, but responsibility lies solely with you. To that end, I would say don't divulge that you're an intermediary unless asked a question you cannot immediately answer, for one it doesn't inspire confidence in a seller or item, it plants the seed of doubt regarding responsibility should the item, for example an aeg, turn out to be a lemon. That in turn opens up another can of worms, if someone sells on behalf of a third party, deals done & moneys passed to the owner, & then the aeg implodes on its first outing a week later, is the 3rd party gonna return the funds ?. Its a bit of a minefield?

To be fair, this is the only forum I've ever known that allows any critiquing of a sales thread, so we need to be happy with that i guess. Tbh I can't see anyone rushing forward with £3k+ screaming "take my money", & if someone did, they'd only have themselves to blame for not doing their due diligence & getting turned over.

Unfortunately not, & i agree with the idea of making interested members aware, but here is the only place it can be shown. That's not to say that members can't raise awareness by clicking on the emoji reactions, probably the "careful now" (father Ted) one as that's the only one that doesn't boost the members ratings.

Afternoon guys, lately we've had a run of sales threads where members claim to be selling something on behalf of a mate/brother/auntie etc. Just to remind you that technically that's against the forum rules, specifically rule 6. So if you put up an ad for anything, you're responsible for every aspect of it, info in the ad, including upgrades, taking payment, ensuring vcra compliance, delivery, & ultimately any immediate post delivery issues or faults. Claiming its someone else's doesn't absolve you of those responsibilities, & may get your ad deleted.
