Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger
mightyjebus replied to mightyjebus's topic in AEG/GBBR Reviews
most likely better accuracy and longer range. I'll S hop it to get the range (using .32 or .36g BB's) and see what the stock inner barrel is like for accuracy. If I can get better grouping at range by fitting another type tightbore barrel then I probably will. Stock motor might be replaced with something high speed to make the 3 round burst a bit snappier as well. I'll be happy with the FPS around 340 as I find that at 340 with S hop you get 65 meters using .36 on a good day. only thing that let's this setup down is barrel length at range as the accuracy can be all over the place at that range with shorter barrels. -

its the M908B and the idea is to get run the longer one in woodland. I'll find out this weekend what needs tweaking. -

so.. a little update. the email I sent was sent to the wrong address..completely my fault as I can't obviously read a name on a piece of paper and type the same thing into a computer. After sending another follow up email to the wrong address I thought it was strange that I didn't get some sort of acknowledgement so I made a few phonecalls (HMRC and then BF) and eventually found the guy who sent me the letter and he told me about my stupidity of sending an email to the wrong address. he turned out to be a top bloke and we had a bit of a chat and it seems like everyman and his dog is trying to order RIF's without some sort of defense (he quoted over 150 seized currently). After I gave him my site membership number and then got the site to email him confirmation he has released my parcel back to UPS so I should get some sort of update on the UPS website in the next 24/48 hours. Fingers crossed UPS don't balls it up from here on in. -
yeah I had the same idea..either print something or wrap them in Sugru as I have a load of black packets here not getting used.

surprisingly took 3 attempts to get such a simple model to work right. Now I can print off PTW magazine followers whenever I want as they have a tendency to disappear. and in the quest for fog free glasses my next mad invention is 2 magnets with glass cleaning cloth stuck to one side. magnet-lenses-magnet and wipe the condensation away (a bit like cleaning algae from a fish tank).

Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger

I used the finest chinese knockoff sidewinder which feels like it's about to break on every turn but hasn't yet. They are tight to load but like most things loosen up a bit after use. (has the sweary guy on youtube ever said anything nice about airsoft stuff?) I use 11.1v simply because the 3 round burst shoots ever so slightly faster. The M904 isn't sluggish by any means on a 7.4v but you can tell the difference in 3 round burst speed when comparing the 2. -

there isn't much difference in quality between cheap and expensive printers after you have dialed them in. Out the box the more expensive printers generally work better but a £200 printer can be tweaked to print just as well or better. There are 2 main types of 3D printers for the average joe. FDM and Resin being those 2 main types. FDM is a bit like squeezing toothpaste out a tube in 1 continuous line to make a 3D object where resin is very fine slices of resin stuck to the bottom of the last very fine line of resin. The main differences between the 2 is that resin has a much higher resolution so you don't generally see any print lines and it looks like it was moulded straight out the printer. FDM usually has print lines and you can print in finer detail so that these lines are less visible but that takes time so you have a choice to make between print quality and time to print. FDM printers can have bigger build plates up to 500mmx500mmx500mm generally but resin printers only manage about 192(L)mmx120(W)mmx240(H)mm for affordable models. both types can print in multiple materials so you have flexibility in making stuff. for instance you can print a rubber like butt pad in FDM or resin which will look and feel like rubber or you could print a silencer in ABS on a FDM printer if you are looking for strength. there is 2 other sides to 3D printing worth mentioning. If you don't learn a 3D design program you are stuck with printing other peoples models. Most programs are scary to look at when you first use them but a couple of youtube videos later it all makes sense. The other side is moulding from 3D printing. it's possible to design, print then cast in metal/2 part epoxy/gold/space dust a part. this is taking the 3D printing hobby a bit further but having a printer opens up that door. want a particular flash hider that doesn't exist or stupidly expensive? design it, print the prototype for testing then jam it in some plaster of paris and melt some old coke cans and pour. -

oh and as a follow up to my initial review I thought I'd mention that I've used it quite a bit since the review and it's still working flawlessly. I'm running it on a 11.1V most of the time and sticking to binary/3 round burst and had zero issues. I used it this weekend and the phrase someone shouted at me kinda sums this little AEG up. "I don't know what you are firing at me but it just scared the shit out of me!" -

I used 2 EPM1's this weekend and they worked really well in the M904. I also use m4 flash mags when I want to go hicaps and these work well without any feeding issues -

got a email from Border Force on Monday and fired off my defense to the VCRA right away. Still nothing as of today on the UPS website so the wheels of BF are moving slowly it seems. -
fun filled day fitting a Jefftron Leviathan to my TM AK102.
-
made mag pouch inserts for the ARP9, TM GBB MP7, ACP9K and Vector. I'll probably do the MP5 and Scorpion next.

So I picked both these up from these forums and because I got them at a decent price it left some cash over to do a bit more upgrading. The NGRS M4 came with a prommy inner barrel and purple hop rubber. I was going to S hop it but i'll run the prommy stuff for a game or 2 before doing that. I fitted a titan and new pistol grip as the A2 style grip really gets on my goat. The M4 also came with the Knights rail in the box (it was a socom so comes with the plastic handguards). There is a small air leak between the cylinder head and nozzle and a new nozzle still has a slight air leak so I've ordered a new cylinder head and a O ringed nozzle to get rid of that problem (not really a problem as it's only a FPS variation of about 10 at the worst but enough to annoy me). The NGRS G36K I added the Jefftron V3 (first time trying one of these and seems to be a straight forward swap). I'll probably S hop this as well but right now it came with a Prommy flat hop rubber and flat nub and seems to shoot fine so I'll do the S hop at the same time as the M4. I actually prefer the Jefftron app over the Gate Titan App but that might just be because I connect the Titans via USB whereas the Jefftron is all bluetooth.

So I made my first Taiwangun order since Brexit and it's not exactly been smooth sailing. ordered 14/05 picked up 14/05 from shop arrived in Germany 19/05 @ 8:58 arrived UK 19/05 @ 21:27 then I seen on the UPS tracking site due for delivery the 21st. on the 24th after it hadn't arrived I phoned UPS and got put through to customs team and a promise to call me back within 24 hours. 25 hours later called them back as they hadn't called. Told someone would contact me in 1 hour. After about 3 hours got a call and then an email with the declaration so filled that in and after another day got the import duties bill. Told that it was now with UK BF and could take 10 days to clear. told yesterday that it was now cleared. Now just waiting for UPS to provide me a new arrivals date as the tracking website still says the 21/05 -

TM G36K NGRS from these forums plus a FNX_45 from Combat South. I also picked up 8 of the PTS G36 magazines as well. -
a 7.4 lipo works well in all my NGRS's. I should mention try to go for 25C or 30C if you can find them.

no it doesn't

Does a Gate Aster V3 work in a Tokyo Marui G36K recoil?
-
A trio of CZ58's from a very wet UCAP Green Ops today.
-
As BigStew says the original AEG was by Marui but it looks to have been modified with either the Craft Apple Works M1928A1 kit along with the wooden furniture or possibly it's been modified by Shoot-n-scoot. valuewise it might be worth around £350 if it's CAW. it will appeal to some airsofters and more than likely re-enactors might be interested as it's very much an early style thompson favoured by the commandos in WW2.
-
some of them would be classed as classics. This effects the value as they won't appeal to everyone. To start of with the PTW is £600-850 depending on if it is just the AEG or if it has mags etc. It might also be sub 2008 which means the electronics are not the best so a buyer might want to replace all of that which is costly. The Marui AK with the Guarder wood kit is probably 150-180. The Sr16 (jag precision maybe?) is unknown as I can't see the make and that goes for the thompson as well. The terminator shotgun will go for around 200 as it's the 8mm version and most site don't allow 8mm so most likely only a collector would go for it. The M2 is also 8mm so again reduced market even though it's in fine condition. Hard to price that one but maybe 150-200 The MP5 and the mauser are probably 200 quid to the right person.

it was crap. 30 rounds in 3.1 seconds which meant rolling around for 5 minutes trying to get the magazine out of the pouch you were lying on top off and jammed it up your armpit then you could fire another 30 rounds in 3.1 seconds. on the plus side at least the barrel didn't get too hot as you couldn't change it anyway. Let's not mention the ninja bipod that would spring out and catch on something when you looked at it in a funny way (which was actually your "don't spring out right now face"). I used the L4A1 prior to the L86 LSW (Light [it wasn't] Support [it didn't] Weapon [questionable]) and even though it was a heavy bugger at least it had the decency to put the weight at the back end instead of sticking a 4 pound ninja bipod on the end of the barrel.
