@Prince I will try my best to answer your question Am I an experienced sniper = yes I use the ssg10 (started off as the A1 model but later bought the A3 stock as I didn't like the A1 grip). Have I had other Airsoft sniper rifles? = yes (in order: well MB01, MB08, vsr10, SRSA1) 1)Hitting 80m with no problems is achievable with a few minor upgrades (tridos TDC and a very thorough strip, clean and re-lube of the entire RIF). 2)Hitting 80m with no problems is very difficult to do if there are variable wind speeds, poor quality BB's or user error. 3)Will you start hitting 80m targets on the first gameday after buying your new fully upgraded RIF? NO. things will need to bed in and the first few game days expect the odd shot to disappoint. 4)Would I recommend the SSG10? It's a great value rifle to start from and upgrade. There are other options out there such as action army, silverback and the TM VSR10 which also require upgrades to have that performance most players dream of (YouTube videos do not show airsoft sniping very well). I would suggest that you pop along to your local site, or visit a few and ask to hold/try out other players rifles as some options might not feel right for you, so find the one that you like the feel/look of and then research upgrade options into that model. You will also hear their stories on how good/bad it is sniping and the pain they had getting their rifle to shoot how it does. Good luck.

EDcase, This is brilliant stuff so thanks, just what is needed to resolve this issue. The more 'ways to cheat' or problems as I see them the better in order to eliminate them at the chronograph testing procedure. Regards the players who cheat the Chrono via applying too much hop: This would be difficult to police and I would like to think that sites have a very well airsoft educated/time-served Marshall carrying out the chronograph tests. This way the Marshall could jot the players name down if he/she had an incline that the rif was over-hopped and could carry out a random Chrono shortly after game start.

Please don't bite as this is just a passing thought. This forum (along with other Airsoft forums) has enough intellect in its member to collaborate and create a template email/letter to ask our sites to change how it measures our RIF'S at Chrono. If we ALL send/hand in this template the message will get across that they're acting wrongfully by potentially allowing "hot RIF'S" in gameplay. I can't see the site owners taking any offence to this as they should take safety very seriously to ensure the future of this hobby and their businesses. Something on the lines of; Dear airsoft site, I ...............................am asking for you to stop using the current method of carrying out chronograph testing with 0.20g bb's as this method cannot determine accurately the joule rating if a different weight bb which the user will use. I am suggesting for the safety of the players that you adopt the method of carrying out chronograph tests using the players bb's which they will be using and measuring the joule rating instead of FPS(feet per second). Regards, ........................................ signed .............................. Date ....../......./........ If needed, a concise explanation of joule creep could be included with an example to avoid any debate on how the physics works which may help avoid debates with site owners/Marshall's on these grounds. Can we all work together and collectively as a whole across all forums, social media etc to all apply this email/letter to sites? Dare I say it but...even get in touch with the well known YouTube Airsofters and ask them to assist in getting this off the ground? If we can have some big names and companies on board (brands/UKAPU/popular players/retailers) then maybe they'd be happy for us to mention them on the letter to add leverage.

All I'm going to say is that its nowhere near 2.5j but sadly its over 2.32j. I'm being lazy (plus I currently don't have the time to go and Chrono it again at this moment) but from memory I think it was 2.38j on 0.43g bb's. So when I get a chance il remove a spring spacer to get it as close to 2.25j just to be safe. That is of course unless I sell it first in the mean time. Thankfully my AEG is 0.98j with 0.28g bb's so it's pretty legal but still it can "HiT a ThReE iNcH gRoUp At 100 'airsoft' MeTeRs ObViOuSlY"

Due to airsoft site insurance policies you cannot max out those figures. I am a little annoyed as My springer set to 500fps on .20 which is great for some sites but other sites have the joule rule and some other sites enforce a different joule rating (this applies to both full auto & semi using the weight bb you plan to use).....Man I wish sites would all sing from the same hymn sheet for once and for all. I would change the joules of all your RIF's to meet the requirement by the site which you intend to attend which has the lowest joule rules per RIF. Unless that is of course that you enjoy tinkering and don't mind stripping a rif to change bits to increase/decrease joules/fps to suit each field?

So i'm going to my first ever battle-sim which is zombie themed (halloween I guess) and the game plan looks pretty fun, there is even prizes for best kills etc. I haven't played in a long time so i'm going to get shot to sh*t but it's all fun and for a good cause so what's not to like? If anyone else is interested in going its based near Richmond (N.Yorkshire) and all proceedings will be donated to 'the army benevolent fund'. link below to their Facebook advert or google Adrenalin Airsoft and give them a call to enquire. https://www.facebook.com/events/380456973783297 (Just thought I'd mention that I have no ties with this site what so ever and this will be my first time playing there)

Man that sucks and I am glad you and your family are ok. I am not a battery expert but his is the reason why Ive stuck to Ni-Mh batteries and renew them every 2 years. Im not a die hard air softer so my kit gets stored in a place where its out of sight (like a garage or shed) so If there were to be a battery failure/fire I wouldn't be aware of it until its too late. For me the extra rps Id be achieving isn't worth the risk, especially when you have a family and a house full of items that cannot be replaced. It's all about knowing the risks and taking preventive steps to avoid such tragedies.

For a long game I run a helikon training mini rig (4 mid caps and 2 mk23 mags), a cheap molle shooters belt that carries a mk23 pistol, a quake 8 bfg, warrior slim dump pouch, 5 midcaps (why not)and a warrior med pouch for ssg10 mags if I play sniper. For shorter games I ditch the chest rig and run the 5 mags and the single mk23 with one mag in it and the trusty bfg. I tried plate carriers but they make me overheat and I find them excessive for airsoft. The helikon tmr is the best rig I've used (I've tried a few, but not all obv) for most styles of play and sits very comfortably whilst leaving the back free to help with cooling. Unfortunately the only way you'll know what works for you is to try each which means either buying stuff or borrowing it.

As previously mentioned, this image from the potato computer archive doesn't show poor weapons handling or safety. He has eyepro on, mags out, battery is unknown. He could of dropped it muzzle end in the dirt and is checking its clear. His eyes not even in line with the barrel.

I can only recommend LOWA zephyr and AKU pilgrims for lighter work as these are boots that I've had. The Lowa's beating the Aku's in both comfort and performance however. Ive had lots of other lowa's and other brands but they were more winter/mountain boots and not what id recommend for airsoft purposes.

if you search on yewtoob there you'll find a potty mouthed (s)punk rock type chap who has created a rather brilliantly informative video based purely on the question you ask. Even if you don't follow his recommendations its a laugh to watch. He's an absolute UNT©️.

There are some ok ideas but I think my ideas of a secure/policed storage of all RIFS maybe the only way IF it comes to it. Criminals cannot get around these ideas unless the airsoft site owners storage is burgled of course. Ban TWO TONES (they can be sprayed black after all right?) as they can be purchased with anyone age permitting and use a more secure sale process (like a registered database, similar to Airsnipers point) rather than the current system. I would be happy to hand my RIFS into a RIF armoury/police station before a game and straight afterwards. As for maintenance I would expect the sites to conjure up a facility where secure maintenance can be carried out under supervision of some sort. Realistically of course the police won't want anything to do with it and they're overstretched as they are so this would need to arranged through UKARA, parliament and the brilliant airsoft sites throughout the UK. But if im honest non of the above would would be approved due to the financial implications, it would be easier for MP's to vote on simply banning them and therefore eradicating the problem. To deter these muppets it would take an officer to actually shoot one. To most criminals, ten years means 5 years playing COD in a warm cosy bed whilst learning new methods to carry out unlawful acts upon their release (I don't mean to generalise so apologies if it come across this way). I like your ideas regarding moving the sales and ownership of a RIF to almost mirror that of an actual firearm in the uk. I really hope this is the last time I see this kind of thing in the mainstream media or I may sell up before the ban is made public (we won't be given any warning or reimbursement for all of our toys etc). Hmmm the freedom of information act....I wonder how many RIF incidents there has been each year for the past decade? is it linear or on a progressive surge? I might look into this if I get the time. -

Like.. Ermmm.. TWO TONE..... yikes -
https://news.sky.com/story/west-midlands-police-officer-says-he-feared-for-his-life-as-suspect-pointed-gun-in-his-face-12411074 These incidents have become more frequent and I feel that it will not be long before parliamentary steps are taken get RIFs off our streets. I wonder what UKARA are doing to try to reduce the fate of this hobby. Maybe we should keep our RIFs locked up on our local sites or our local police station...

Pretty sure lee wade from 6mm long range airsoft group (fb) has made 'lob' shots close to 150m with his tanaka. Yes he's above 1j but I imagine if anyone's perusing the longest shot for an airsoft rif it's someone on his group, whether they are in the UK or overseas.

Helmet Cam For Personal Use, Does It Make Me A Nobber?
Oneshotscott replied to Fatboy40's topic in General Discussion
Exactly the same here. If any players ask why I have it I might start telling them I'm the "god mode police" or that I enjoy recording people that ask pointless questions. -
As well as the above valid point by @Cannonfodder, you cannot breach these rules. You'll just have to attend 3 games over a period greater than 56 days (which goes by very quickly). On another note by the time you gain your ukara number hopefully the UK retailers will be able to offer a greater stock list of options for you.

Yeah crack on its fine. Try to ignore thoughts of what others may think of you. If you want to video your game play then crack on and have fun. -
Should I be concerned about the mosfet in my g&g sr15 mod2 then? It's 2 months old (used once) or is the G2 gearbox/mosfet better in this model? I'm running 2 x new 9.6v nimh batteries and had no issues on first outing...
