Sacarathe reacted to RR01 in What can I do to ease mag release on a GBB pistol?
Try spraying some silicon oil in the pistol grip on the three sides away from the BB chamber in the mag, then work the mag in and out a few times to spread it aeround.

The pads on the cheekbone areas make the mask sit off your face, so yeah you can sport a tactical chin warmer under them with no problems.

I made the pads out of a bit of sleeping mat foam and sewed the velcro hook strips to the pad cover nylon fabric before sewing it into shapes for the pad to fit inside. The fabric is the type used for curtain/dress lining - very light, durable, and cheap. I formed the pad covers like small bags, machine-stitched inside out then turned the right way before inserting the foam, before finally hand sewing the last seam. The velcro loop strips have to be sewed through the mesh by hand and I'd suggest making knots every 2-3 stitches so that if any bits of the thread break the whole strip will not fall off immediately.

In my mind all such boiler suits should have a ghost-busters logo

Agree looks pretty ex-CCCP-ish which is all good.

Anything is all-good to be fair, wear wtf you like, whatever is most comfortable and feels most cool/badass.

It's only milsim events where you have to wear specific clothing and people will get fussy about not looking soldierish enough (had to tell several unhappy-fat-ass types to go fudge themselves and/or join the army when I turned up to one in jeans, trainers and camo t-shirt (t-shirt was correct specified camo-pattern)

Are you registered with UKARA? If not, don't get anything. If you are going to spend that just on the gun, then it would be a waste to two tone it...

I think the green goes well with any sort of woodland camo, but it does blend. The blue one is good for advertising/ standing out; this is a pos and a neg.

I have the tan and green one. The tan ones on my helmet for my CQB kit which is tan and black. The green is on my Vegetato kit.

My cat wouldn't move, so I just put the helmet on her for this pic...

The funny thing is, when I started researching airsoft I wanted to only buy the best because I was terrified of something breaking down, when I was in wolf armouries they said they had over 2 months waiting list to fix breakdowns - apparently bioBBs are a major reason for this.

I have now spent 20-25 hours reading about the technical playing side of airsoft (admittedly I only figured out what the tappet plate did 10 minutes ago) and I think now I am happy to just buy the cheaper brands and fix any breaks myself.

Nay worries, still, a lot of learning to do before I can understand you properly. I don't really understand what you have written here, but I have no plans to buy and open a (new) TM P90. Don't want to let the fairy dust out.

My current plan is to buy a 2nd hand P90 platform (could be TM) for under £160 (under £80 if broken), and depending on it's condition completely dismantle and reassemble it a couple of times (making documentation). I'd start on this immediately but alas need UKARA even if I don't want to shoot the damn thing.

Once the internals are learned start a plan for "features" and go from there. That US forum has some very comprehensive guides.

It was that airsoft society is more of a US based forum and have explained some US techy's hate G&G
raise an enquiry about SHS DSG and enjoy the wrath as oppossed to seigtek for example
(no I'm not having a go at airsofters across the pond but many feel very strongly about Riot's DSG)

hence I just wondered about the forum & boneyard as it is typical american - we tend to say breakers yard I feel

The enthusiasm part was gonna upgrade a rather bespoke gearbox as your first attempt rather than a convential v2 or v3

I love to tinker, while it's a long way off, having clear goals keeps things nice, tidy, and restricts research to only relevant information. I think the hardest part will be choosing a platform (brand).

First off - I don't know why but a fair amount of techy's on US forums hate G&G and also SHS - well anything from far east
They like G&P, Seigtek, Lonex - yes very good but so they bloomin' should be for the extra you pay

I can only presume you yourself are from the other side of pond as you are probably talking about Evike's boneyard items
Which is fine coz UK sites have lower limits than stateside ones so you could use a higher fps gun

But if you are lead to think that G&G boxes break like toothpicks then I suggest you may read on a bit more coz that forum
has a great tutorial on build higher speed guns etc... clearly stating numourous times you don't need to go mad a lot of the time
certainly don't need to have all hi end stuff to acheive an improved box/gun

Yes TM are way better than a standard G&G starter gun - much like comparing a Lexus to a Kia/Hyundai so to speak
I will gladly accept the TM is better - but hardly a fair match when they are at different ends of the spectrum

Me personally I'll stick at the lower end for now and learn as I go, my actual skills in skirmishing certainly don't to me
warrant a higher end gun just yet, I will need to gain a bit/lot more skill in playing and maintaining aeg's first I feel
well tbh I'd probably just end up taking the cheaper guns as far as I feel they can go within moderation/reg use etc....

To each their own as they say, but me personally - I tend to think of the saying:

Fine clothes do not make a gentleman, it is not the gun but the player holding it that can win the game
(yes a fantastic gun helps a bit but don't guarantee jack - well that is just my noobish humble opinion)

Prices for postage from Evike are insane. Got a quote of over $50 for 5 magazine feeding lips that could quite easily have come in a small bag.

OK. The OP specifically was asking about a G&G. The post by Tad said "why not buy it new" implying that he was referring to the gun that was referenced by not only the OP but also other posters. I was pointing out that the gun Tad recommended wasn't what the OP was asking about.

There was no mocking involved merely pointing out a fact.

good gun - but comes with crap 120 mid cap
(get better mag or some high caps)

all G&G aeg's come with "aprox" 330fps out of box
not that common to get one way above that tbh

most sites run a bit above the 100m/sec or 328fps
usually 350 is the limit BUT a few sites enforce 328 & a few others allow 340
(think The Mall Reading is 340 but don't quote me)

my own site and numerous others are 350 max
some sites and very very strict and the odd one or two don't seem to give a toss
but most chrono up to a max of 350 - no more

YOU need to check with the site you are thinking of using it at really

ps - the cm18 is really nice or a 30th edition GC16 mod1 but this isn't all railed up like cm18 & Raider
but full metal and well worth considering (battery at front on GC16 & CM18/Raiders are rear wired)

If thats the one you want get it. Must say though why start a thread asking advice and ignore everything said. Every point given you have argued with and dismissed. People have taken their time to help you like you asked them to and you have responded by coming across smug and a bit disrespectful. TM is renowned worldwide as the best pistol manufacturer but you have heard different so obviously everyone else is wrong. Get want you want stop wasting peoples time and fu, actually I will stop there dont want a warning for saying what everyone is probably thinking.

AFAIK the ASG MK23 Socom is a clone of a TM and a spot on one at that, so you can be sure that any adapters which work for 1 will work for the other (and by extension, any similar designs by those companies).

    Yes, CCW is counter clockwise.

It's a copy of the TM version, the size of the threading was 16 mm, but he got a piece to make it 14mm, which means silencers can be added. The adapter is a separate purchase. CCW is as Ian said. Look about midway through AFUK's page and you will see a "Reviews" section. It's in there.
