I asked them if I could contact customs directly, they said they would charge me rent if the package was held for any amount of time - they were extremely vague, so please, do try this. They had already had two failed deliveries at that point, but neither were my fault, I told them in big capital letters to deliver it to the marked address and not to the site reception. This may not make sense - but what happened was that I had completed the form, not understanding the system, so of course I couldn't clear it through customs, because they already had.

Yes, the earlier posts appear that way, but I clarified it all in post #12. They pay your duty, and then charge you VAT + £11 - your duty is lost somewhere in the £11, I did believe based on what I was told by UPS that the money was to fill the form in because they wouldn't tell me how much duty I was due. I believe they were refusing on the logic that "if we tell him it was only £2 duty, we'll have to argue with him for 10 minutes explaining why he still has to pay £11" so they think it is easier to mislead. I was certainly mislead. But I researched it and did clarify it. We can't avoid paying duty, but absolutely do try to avoid paying the difference between your duty owed and the £11 UPS want. My case was exacerbated by my site's reception telling them to stuff themselves each time (twice) they tried to deliver and ask for payment.

Wow, not sure I'd call moss green a bright green.

AFAIK it is not the form that commands the £11 fee but the duty requirement. Unless your package is due more than £11 in duty, or exempt from duty due to its value or contents, that fee is 100% to UPS. When I spoke to them I was quite displeased that after I asked the guy for a breakdown of what I was paying he would not tell me how much duty I paid because I still had to pay £11 - the guy just did not understand the question. As it happens I had the % already. But the guy could have avoided arguing* with me for 2-3 mins just by saying "you were charged £" sir. *Well, not really arguing, there was no back and forth, I just asked him "how much duty did I pay" until he hung up.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems, what exactly were you trying to achieve when you misinformed UPS? I believe, even if the HARM code evike used could be argued to not apply, you'd still be due for duty on the item/postage (if it's over the threshold) on the 'correct' HARM Code. Which would still cost you the UPS customs clearing charge for paying VAT/DUTY regardless of what is actually in the package. If evike used the correct harm code, I would expect you'll be very short on options. How much postage did you pay on the other end? I curious about this because I got a box from them recently and more than 2 thirds of it was packing paper. It couldn't have cost them $60 to post it. I'm starting to dislike UPS, if the DUTY is above £11 they cap it and you save money I think, but if it is below that they charge you and all they do is give that form to some official - I'm not saying its bad value for money, but it should be declared by the dispatcher. Atm I am wondering what happens if UPS return to sender, and the recipient argues that they couldn't afford to pay the release fee because UPS inflated it by £9+ (and they would not have ordered were they informed of this). Refund/Chargeback?

I was looking at these over the last few days, Wolf Armouries seem to be one of the cheapest in stock for the GBB, but on the other hand if you're buying more than 1 spare mag, the asian sites (even with prices converted from USD and multiplied by 1.25(inc postage) came too a £100 saving when buying 5 spare mags. (over buying 5 spare in the uk at £40 each).
-
That's UPS actually. Though no doubt there is some kind of kickback as they don't use any other carriers.

(Bright) Yellow, (bright) pink, (bright) purple and transparent too. A few places cheat though and use "bright" dark green though. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2007/2606/pdfs/uksi_20072606_en.pdf

Well, that its a 'hi-cap' is a minor reason i'm using to convince myself to save the money. Alas it is so expensive though (the mp7).

I was going to buy one or two 50rd mags for my glock this week at £40 each, but I think putting towards a TM MP7A1 GBB might be a better spend. I realised, after researching that the 50rd glock mags are the same size as the realsteel 33rd mags, and the 50s are snail/drum. I really want to avoid hicaps - though I recently saw a youtube vid where someone said "if you remove a high cap to wind it" you, A don't look silly, and B play fairly with the mid/low caps. I really liked that and if I ever have any for an AEG, thats what i'll do.

Leaving keys in locks. Help me settle an argument.
Sacarathe replied to M_P's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I agree with you completely. My parents inside I leave them in the place they'd be most useful. I guess the other users at your place approach that door regularly from the other side while they expect it to be locked? Seems like a good time for them to 'get lost'. In our house I used to get in big trouble if I removed the keys, but at least it made sense. Have you asked if the issue is the key itself? You could make a copy and leave that in the lock instead. -
Does the shorter barrel and TM lower fps impact its effectiveness (range/accuracy) at all? I've read that full auto can reduce the ambient internal temperature on the GBB to the point it needs to warm up to fire effectively. I've also read that it is noisy (good thing)?

I've read all of this forum's topics on this gun, and hit the internet for a while, is there anything I might not have picked up on that is general knowledge (or may not be gk) about these guns? I found the size comparison pictures. Do these have stock compatibility with TM and other tracer units? (When answering don't forget to state whether you refer to the AEG or GBB)

What does ME stand for?

Don't forget the regulator when you do.

Don't forget https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=redline+airstock if you're going lightweight. (its far too expensive for what it appears to be).

There are many, almost all those I've asked about here I would count in that, I do always try to find the answers though - of course there was a time that I didn't but theres only so many times people can point you to the search button before you've had enough and ye join their side. One of the things I really hate about LMGTFY is the "was that so hard", its just so unnecessary, but I don't know of a politer version of the site. And I did answer, the second hit on that google link is the same site you've shared.

This is true of almost all software, one license per user, in many cases it's per computer. In our house we have bought office and windows for each computer, its quite a nuisance but if it was not that way we would not be able to enjoy such amazingly effective products as the creators could not raise enough profit to cover R&D and then things would not get made. I still don't understand though what the point you're trying to make is with regards to me being caught. If I buy it then I have done nothing wrong, if I have done nothing wrong, then if I am caught with it I just show them my proof of purchase (as with all my other software). Have you confused me with someone else you know to have acquired a copy of this software without paying for it? I have not yet got a copy as I am waiting for skylake (intel).
-
I'm actually trying to get a copy of solidworks at the moment, my dad has tasked me to build a pc and install solid works, I'm doing everything I can to find him a way to not pay more than 3 times the cost of the computer for the software.

Its a good question, but not one you couldn't find out on your own. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=european+eye+protection+impact+standards Note these are the US ratings: (This is just an EXAMPLE) http://blog.safetyglassesusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/ballistic-eyewear-velocity-standards1.jpg (Source: blog.safetyglassesusa.com/how-to-identify-ballistic-rated-eyewear)

It just so happens there is a thread (with some answers) started today on this very subject. Anyhoo, if I post again someone might suggest I'm taking advantage of your goldfish impression to inflate my post count.

Follow this link and read everything - if there are any other links, read them too, don't get caught in a loop though! I sympathise with you - go look at my first posts on this board, I was similar albeit with a LOT more research, but you really must actually read what people say, not ask them to answer questions they already have (makes it look like you have not read what they took time to provide, regardless of whether you actually have), look at other threads, spend hours on youtube. Also, well done for seeking alternatives to Call of Duty - not that you'll know what that is until you're old enough to experience 18 rated games.

Ah yeah, of course, it doesn't matte if the person making the gift did so illegally.

What if it was asked how they got it, is the correct answer, "non of your business"? - Serious question because while I might have been mistaken in my previous post, this is the reason I put it this way.
