You have in your recent replies elucidated information which was not clear from your earlier posts which explains a lot, however I still query whether you cannot do this without gathering data. If as you say, they are proportional, you should be able to figure this out without gathering data? Yes: I'm not a maths/physics wiz, but I just cannot see how gathering data can help with this. Remember FPS, is the velocity after the bb EXITS the barrel... the force of the BB after it leaves the gun - at this point it really doesn't matter what the internals of the gun were. You cant cheat this. (though yes, it may not be possible to predict the FPS of a .3g bb even if you have a gun's FPS result from using .2g bbs) I would suggest rather than asking people for data you just buy a bunch of different length barrels - not because your experiment is not worth the time, but because so much more can vary between results than just the barrel. You need to control variables and polling for data will not do this. Also, your form doesn't ask whether the hop up was on.
-
Yes. And this is why I question you, why do you need data if its a physics problem? There has to be a degree of trust in this sport, based on everything I have learned in the last 2 months, using eye protection rated for bbs at .2g at 1 joule is nothing short of insane.
-
I apologise, it was my understanding joule creep was the way in which a person, irrespective of intent, may cheat chronograph testing to achieve game play with a gun which is above the joule limit of a skirmish site because that site measures their guns (in these tests) by FPS which does not reflect an accurate result if the person doing the testing is not familiar with the table above and does not realise that you need FPS AND an honest account of the weight of the BB fired to know for sure whether a gun is within the site's joule limits - thus the FPS (solely) is really irrelevant (as anyone can just always chrono with .30g and say they're .22g). You are referring to something else (impulse) clearly. Aye, but are you saying that this increase in speed will not be reflected in the FPS recorded (and checked against the weight) and thus make it impossible to chrono a gun? That doesn't make sense to me.
-
Ok, but how does that fool someone who expects a certain FPS from a certain BB weight to reflect a specified total joules. What I am really asking is, if you have the FPS and the weight, how is what you're referring to relevant (i'm not saying it isn't)?
-
Unless the person doing the test is aware that higher weights chrono lower velocities, they will put in a weight above .20g and then say it passed the test, when in fact it has not. Why should a gun be tested at with higher weight BBs when the only things that matter are the FPS at .2g - or is there some trick to making heavier BBs cheat physics? You can't cheat physics. (I'm not arguing, but what you're saying does not line up with what others have said elsewhere, not saying you're wrong yet).

I find that hard to understand. How can you know that?

If not, then what is it displaying?

TL;DR - I believe that no duty = no flat UPS brokerage charge of £11. The UPS charge of £11 to clear an item through customs, if it is eligible for duty. They charge £11 to take items through customs whether the duty is that or whether it's more and then you pay VAT, while the said they could always return to sender there MUST be a way to just pay the VAT+Duty and leave them with nothing, they were already paid on the other end - by you. From what I was told, if the duty comes to more than £11 they will eat it, but if it doesn't you pay extra. That said, the £11 MAY just be for customs duty and not for VAT, its all rather unclear - not that I have put any effort into figuring it out. http://www.ups.com/content/gb/en/shipping/cost/additional.html#Brokerage+Services I would assume therefore that if you insist evike have filed the wrong code your package should go through and you only pay VAT. That worked for me, and I think UPS made an error allowing my package without VAT. Plus, if enough people make this complaint evike could get in trouble with UPS. https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty I insisted that I would not pay UPS the £11 or the VAT until they told me how much of the £11 was duty, of course I paid the code above so I could have looked it up, but they simply responded with, "was I refusing to accept delivery?"

Is there some obvious detail missing that I don't see? I cant conceive of a situation where a normal goggle impact would necessitate replacement. £20 seems kinda cheap.

Is this the sort of information you're looking for?:

I only copied what I saw on the shop I was browsing. I did not know MTC was a copy though. Edited my above posts as I did mean MC. Now that I know MC and MTC are different I think I'll skip (default) multicam and it's clones for my first set of trousers/tops. I like the look of the darker greens. Besides if i'm really going to run a pair of p90s* I might as well go for a PMC look. thanks for that clue, I was only aware of one of those clones you have listed. *

Thanks guys, I've seen from fictional portrait of military action that in the real military situation no one gives a crap what people are wearing (other than unit coherency), but in airsoft I imagine people have more time and inclination to critique others. As I currently have not got trousers/top, I do wonder if I would be better off (long term options open) shying away from MC, and going with OD or CT, Or just getting MC trousers and then OD/CT top.

So, I'm advancing my loadout, and while I keep reading "all the newbs go MC*" quite frankly, I'm not too concerned, I saved myself £35 when I bought MC goggles over tan/black, and I have MC hat/gloves, and soon trousers. I've no plan to go beyond running a belt (with pistol holster) with thigh AEG mag holster and a sling for the next 6 months. This question is money motivated, looking for long sleeved MC clothing and these seem just right. Also, is it noticable if someone is mixing different shades of MC, like tropic with standard. UBACS - Under Body Armour Combat Shirt (for any other newbies reading this). *Multicam

What about a blacklight for seeing all those grinning teeth.

Could you just hang a 6 hour 6inch <£8 glow stick off the back of your belt?

So, arguing with UPS worked, got my package with no duty, no VAT - i did not expect this, but i was aware prior to arguing that 'rated' safety equipment is VAT exempt.

The person receiving them did work in a lab (at one of the welsh universities), though as I understand it their research was geared at insects rather than general biology/genetics etc. They were just doing me a favour though, I didn't get any money for them beyond costs.

You can share images on facebook, just right click and press "view image" and then share that URL. -
I send a box with 1000 cockroaches in it, by royal mail once, the person at the desk asked "will they get out?" I replied monotone and completely honestly "only if you fail to deliver it in 14 days", citing it would be cruel to pack animals in a container they could not eventually escape from when the food ran out. Never the less it was suitable for posting. EDIT: Incase anyone is wondering, when shipping insects general practice is box within a box.
