If I do shoot a kid I try and follow it with a Nelson "Haw Haw", so they fully appreciate the situation. Did have one jump up and scream 'don't shoot' once after I burst round a corner and shot his mate. I asked but he didn't have any lunch-money so i shot him in the foot

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

Looks like your reporting worked as the photoshopped thread is gone! good work sir! -
I'd chase the retailer/site you submitted the form through My understanding of the procedure is as follows; a site gives you membership etc and sign the UKARA form. If your site has a UKARA registered shop then they can submit it for you, if not you give the form to a UKARA registered retailer and they submit it for you. If you've just gotten the form signed and posted it to UKARA yourself, then not sure if that'll be accepted

Holding his gun muzzle to your face deserves a shot to the nuts IMO, no need to be physically threatening/intimidating about things. I'd suggest it's behavior indicative of small-manhood but you still managed to hit it so...
-
So you were accused of blind-banging? and then shot for your troubles? I've yet to play somewhere that allows 'bang-rule' and had it used on me. If it does happen i intend to say 'The Matrix' back at them and wave my arms around until they actually shoot me

So is this like Catholicism? Will the OP be telling us how many 'Hail Marui's' we have to say for each sin? Been playing in the chaos-pit of the Mall for a year so think I've made my way through most the i-spy book of airsoft-regrettable-behavior; mistakenly shooting people; - in the face - kids (they may be armed but still...) - after being hit already - more times than necessary - on my own team my own poor conduct; - sworn a few times ("f*ck! right in the cock" etc) - shot someone already hit in the back of the head with a full-auto burst deliberately (they'd sworn few times at me and tried to shoot me in the nuts before storming-off) - told people they'd been hit rather than telling marshal - almost kick-off at someone recently; http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/26732-the-mall-reading-thursday-night-june-18/#entry202347 Only cliches of airsoft bad-behavior I'm confident in not having sinned in is; - nicking kit (I've even been sad enough to hand in a small bolt that looked like it came from someones stock or similar) - hit-taking; I'm confident in being good at taking hits, I've only ignored ones from people I've hit a decent amount first (the turn and shoot you back kinda scenarios). Never done a cheeky "Ahh they can't tell" or "Sure I hit him too, I'll keep firing and take my hit once he does". Far too paranoid about it really, if anything i take far too many hits that didn't occur, simply as it's quickest, easiest and most satisfying for all (no-one believes they could have missed point-blank, and it's only luck they did miss so fuck-it!)

The Mall Reading, Thursday night June 18?
Colonel Kurtz replied to Alex34's topic in Other Events and Meets
Was a good eve mostly, very good standard of play, wasn't sure if i spotted you or not as was a few people (as usual) sporting the swat-ish loadout, but weren't in the section of the safe-zone i was dwelling in so didn't have much chance to say hello (and interrupt the briefing) Don't worry you wont get a reputation, you'll get banned well before that happens lol. Doesn't sound like you intentionally committed a crime against airsoft or anything, if anything reporting you sounded a bit sore-looser-ish. As for the guy getting banned, that was prob someone who called me 'a f*ck' for shooting him twice accidentally. Him and his team mates were trying to push down a stair-case, I shot him, and then managed to shoot him again when trying to hit his teammates legs further up the stairs. He swore at me right in front of the Marshall, i tried to step in and apologize to the guy in the hope we could make peace there and then and he wouldn't get punished, but he was still very moody and missed that opportunity. He got dragged off and didn't see him again, maybe he got a mulligan and re-offended or someone else kicked off not sure but seems likely this is the referenced incident Level of good-sportsmanship was quite high indeed, I accidentally used full auto on someone in a corridor, they started taking the hit and walking off, i called over that it was full-auto and they shouldn't take the hit, wait a couple seconds and carry on. Heard their team-mate ask what was happening and he told them 'well there's one very nice yellow team member down there!'. Then later encountered the same guy and hit him with a ricochet, again he started taking the hit, so again i told him it was a ricochet and to wait a couple seconds and carry on, he must have thought i was an airsofting saint lol. However for me towards the end of the third game it went horribly wrong for me and if i hadn't had to leave early to catch a train i might have gotten myself banned for abusive behaviour, certainly felt like it would have been satisfying to do so at the time! Same staircase outside our teams respawn; a group of guys were camping the top of it, i lay down on the floor at the bottom and edged forwards until i could see them at the top (top was lit, bottom pitch black). Managed to shoot all three of them and this provoked some mutterings from them. Turns out they believe it's entirely impossible they could have failed to hit me when they can't even see where the bottom is, or the shelf in the stairs that means it's not a straight line down. My assumption is they thought i was actually on the stairs (as that would have made not getting hit less likely) not laying down at the bottom. So I push up the stairs and encounter what later turned out to be the same group of guys, they had decided they didn't need to go back to respawn as them being hit without hitting me was clearly impossible. Shoot a couple of them, get hit and go back down the stairs respawn and repeat. I did this 3 times, not really realizing it was the same guys and they weren't going to respawn as all dressed in same camo, just waiting for me to go back down the stairs and carrying on. Until the last time i did this i realized, most of them were in same camo, but one of them had a hoodie and he was the one i'd shot first out of them each time. Foolishly rather than call for a marshal, I said 'come-on mate, it's been 3 times now', he replied that i hadn't hit him this time, i said 'indeed not this time, but what about the other three times?'. Stopped myself there and went back down the stairs, the kid shouts down the stairs behind me that "i guess you didn't get hit on the stairs when there's three of us either' (how i know this was their motive to cheat). Respawn and go up the stairs one last time, they've moved on from the room at the top, but not far. One of them is stood in the corner of the concourse outside this room. I didn't spot him and walked straight out. I hear a burst of full-auto-fire from his gas smg from about 5 metres away but feel nothing, number of shots fired means i'd def have felt at least one, dont wear thick clothing or anything. I assume he's firing dry, turn round to him and say 'sorry mate but you must be firing dry, nothing hit me' and shot him in the foot. He kicks off and says 'no it's f*cking gas mate, it stops firing when it's out of bb's' so i reply 'well in that case you're just a sh*t shot then, but don't worry, i miss people point blank all the time, but at least i've got a tracer so i know when i've been sh*t. tell you what i'll take the hit anyways!' and i start walking off. Then the same little turd in the hoodie pops his head out of a shop and gives me a burst of full auto in the back and says 'you taking that hit then?' 'no i'm not, i've already taken a hit and walking back to respawn, you just shot a dead player deliberately with his hand up' Fortunately for me the alarm on my phone then went off (although i did get shot few times while trying to take it out my pocket due to hand being down lol), and i went straight to the safe-zone and packed up. I def should have gone looking for a marshal in the first place, or at least found one to tell before i left, this i definitely regret. the marshals are very good at the job, i should have taken the time rather than suffering in silence until it f*cked me off. definitely a good thing i was leaving early as if i'd stuck around i was prob tired enough to have kicked off myself if i encountered this group of twats again, regardless of any marshal punishment In my mind this was a prime example of the most common form of bad behavior at The Mall though, people assume it was impossible for them to miss a moving target at close range or similar and then use this as an excuse to cheat themselves. As i said to the guy with the smg, I have a tracer so for my own peace of mind i know when i'm being sh*t, it happens often lol. would recommend one for anyone playing regularily at the mall for this reason, keeps you sane and helps you improve. it's very very hard to see normal bb's in there due to the lighting. -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Unlucky mate! Had same happen to my new SRS after 1 outing to the mall, although it came with a mesh flash-hider which took the brunt, and not something you can order replacements of. So I'm bit luckier in that my sight is still functional, but it's still ornamental until i make some kinda bespoke shield (as foldup ones like what linked in above post dont seem to quite cover it) I think CQB is just doom for all your kit, I have a TM tracer and the outer-case it entirely dented and fuked from all the times my gun rather than face takes the hits. Someone even managed to leave a bb sized dent in the side of my m4! -

At The Mall I find ATACS AU is one those camo schemes i find very easy to spot in the dark as it has light patches. Agree it's too dark to see an outline regardless, but the lighter shades in it help you appear as a contrasting patch of moving blur, rather than just moving blur, and that's all you need to point and shoot at. Def agree that a black makes you easier to spot in light areas, due to color contrast. However I personally find camo clothing sticks out the most because it's not a block color like the surroundings. Perhaps the best outfit for the mall would be some horribly 70's beige/brown clothing; dark enough to have benefit in the basement, and might blend in with the background in rest of the site better. However due to it being an entirely man-made arena and people not having straight edges or flat surfaces I think the only way to successfully conceal yourself in the lit areas in any manner is if you where to wear a cardboard box, then people might mistake you for another wooden barricade. Hmm wait a minute i think i have a cunning plan So I agree with what you're saying, but personally I find the differences the other way around in terms of how much effect they have. To me i find black makes a big difference in the dark, but whatever you're wearing makes no difference in the rest of the site. People usually have so much adrenaline pumping they're really focused on a specific point of interest (doorway etc). It means if you're in that point they'll see you regardless of clothing style, and if you sneak up behind them they wont notice you regardless of clothing style either. And in woodland I seem to find no difference, maybe because everyone wears camo so there's not much difference to pick from. p.s. i wear black but refuse to be tarred with the sas/swat brush, just my very very old combats and snowboarding softshell. I have been toying with the idea of a ninja outfit, as it'll be a hilarious delving into hypocrisy for me that a majority will consider wearing this special-forces costume ridiculous because i clearly don't have the relevant ninja athleticism or abilities -

Again I'm gonna be an immersion breaking bastard and say that camo schemes make no difference to concealment. As Lozart says the range airsoft battles occur at is too small for it to make any difference. As long as it's vaguely a woodland colour (green hoodie does the job) then it's your behavior/movement that will make the difference. A flat patch of green in your loadout isn't going to make people spot you, if anyone notices this then it's far too late already and they must be pausing to admire your outfit before pulling the trigger or something hehe. Perhaps a ghillie suit tailored with the local foliage might make a slight difference if you're not moving, but even then it's the not moving that is making the majority of the effect. If you wanna change up your 'loadout' in a manner that feels/looks more cool/consistent then do it, but there's no scientific justification or anything -
Which one would you choose and why??
Colonel Kurtz replied to Daniel248's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I would probably go with the Krytec due to knowing VFC are shite inside and Krytec seems to have gotten a lot of hype in the USA for supposedly good internals, even if an intended feature or two isn't there yet. Perhaps the yanks are right and it's half decent at least. Still abit fledgling for my liking. Not sure what you mean by it's rail? The Krytec has a key-mod system so you essentially attach bits of rail to the side and bottom, whereever you want to add an accessory. I too wouldn't buy either though, unless last 2 guns on earth kinda choice. Again I'd be picking from G&G or ICS for mid-price-range or TM for a hole in my bank account instead -

Think Chachi in black with an MP7 and you'll spot me. P.S please don't adjust your hop-up, i enjoy crouching low and having everyone's shots spin up over my head -
Certainly happy to stand corrected, I have heard the recoil is excellent. Just felt best to steer any new-comer towards something more generic, as they might not notice or care about the furniture, or want recoil. to op: Recoil is only a bonus to those wanting the gun to feel more real, otherwise it is indeed just a hindrance. I myself don't care for it. KWA is alright depending on the gun, but not particularly excellent.
-
Yep not worth it, apart from the noise you'll not notice the difference until you hear the unholy sound of gear-box crunch and it stops working. Using a higher C rating 7.4 as mr trigger happy suggests will give you all the juice you need.
-
I just keep hearing that when using a 11v lipo the ROF is the only really tangible difference, for trigger response it's supposedly one those academic differences that the average human isn't capable of utilizing/experiencing (who cares if the gun fired the bb 0.05 seconds faster when you took 1 second to decide and pull the trigger). I tried using one and it didn't sound like it was having a happy time, like the motors trying to jump out the gearbox and take the gears with it. Described to me by a jedi master as the last step to do after you totally max/pimp a gun and fancy an excuse to take it apart after every-game, otherwise not worth it. Have seen more people chucking them into old guns, in a kinda 'die by the sword' plan to get the most out of an old gun for short time until it implodes and can chuck it out and justify buying another tm recoil etc lol. And then you can hear the noise the poor things making a mile away!

Also check out the guides in this forum section, they're actually really good for new players.

PTS is a brand that seems like just paying more money for the (magpul) furniture, which everyone considers cool as for a few months it made peoples M4 stand-out from the crowd. For a M4 look at ones by G&G or ICS. If you're the tinkering/upgrading type then these will be the perfect platform to start with (will do you fine for use but have room to pimp). If you'd rather spend a bit more for something you don't need to touch/upgrade ever, then get a Tokyo Marui (tinkering with them usually disturbs their careful balance and ruins them)
-
I'd suggest not bothering with the 11v lipo, high-speed motor will still run fine off 7v one. Unless you're questing after extreme ROF then there's no point, you'll get the trigger response you want from 7v with the motor upgrade

Upgrade time! Need some pointers please!
Colonel Kurtz replied to SCAR_Jester's topic in Electric Guns
From what i gather the ICS Turbo 3000 has all the torque you'll need if you're not upgrading the spring. Depending on where you got it from you might even not have the 3000 in there, but a 2000 instead, regardless of what it says on the box. Ones made by ICS for the spain/euro market have the 3000 and come with a harder spring (which the retailers have to downgrade). Ones made directly for the UK (depends if the retailer has good enough relationship with ICS to get them) come with the 2000 motor instead, as supposedly the 3000 was too much torque when using a lesser spring and caused issues. -
I managed to break the hop-up on a TM MP7, after wading through the internet I found a Japanese sit called Impulse101. The site itself has 3 language options; Japanese, French and English. For some reason none of the stock shows up in English, but in French or Japanese it does. So requires a bit of translation, easiest done in google-chrome as a simple right-click option. As i couldn't find one anywhere else i decided to risk ordering a replacement hop-up and see if anything turned up, used paypal so not too worried. The hop-up + shipping was about £20, and the shipping was more expensive than the part itself. Superb prices for TM parts. It turned up without issue, received tracking numbers etc via email. They even put 'RC Car Parts' on the package so i didn't get fooked by customs for another £20. Definitely a good site for those annoying little TM bits that cost 30-50 from UK re-sellers.

Welcome to the forums, plenty teams out there, sure you'll find one at local skirmish sites! She's right you are a bit sad, but we all are, and we're comfortable with this so keep on shooting each other with toy guns

I started with a bunch of friends; we went to a paintball event for friends stag-do, this prompted us to chip in together for some shit bb guns to fire around friends land. When it came to going to airsoft skirmishes, I had and still have issues persuading friends; cost, sparing the time and fear/apathy. Is hard for those with family to escape for a whole day Sunday and most have other hobbies etc they'd rather spend the missus's agreement on. Or they're lazy single bums who don't wake up to midday on weekend. And also having heard my tales of how seriously (often hilariously) people take airsoft, most consider it to be a more uneven match than turning up for paintball (rarely get regulars with own kit). And they don't want to do it if they'll suck compared to the majority as this will result in them getting shot lots with guns 1.5 times more powerful than the plastic crap we messed around with, and probably not have much fun if they're getting their ass-kicked. So I've been doing it on my own, have couple mates who keep promising to go sometime... Seems reasonably common people turn up on their own, most seeming to have made their airsofting friends there rather than prior. The atmosphere is usually very welcoming at skirmish sites You don't have to wait for friends to do it, it's perfectly and commonly possible to do it solo. Just keep telling your mates it's awesome and sooner or later one will join (i hope)

Seems like a good idea, until you get a dude sitting with an open AEG gearbox on his hairy naked lap. And if you're guiding people through repairs, you'll encounter many people who it's beyond their ability, not in knowledge, but in co-ordination. When they snap something in half with their fat fingers while your guiding them, it'll be you they blame and you'll suffer a tantrum in some manner, on the spot or in review. Perhaps you-tube videos created/tailored to request would be a good way to start and gauge how much demand there is and good practice for you, so if you ever get as far as guiding people live, you wont be stumbling/stuttering.
