  1. I wear full MTP and there have been times I've hidden in a bush and should have been spotted, but stopping and not making noise let me avoid a few guys walking a couple of metres past me As said above: it's not your camo that hides you, it's your behaviour and movement, even if you're using a ghille, in which case you need to also behave like the Bush to hide, because the human eye is good at recognising a moving Bush as a threat, too many people wear goid ghilles then ruin it by moving around every few seconds
  2. Not when I'm working 100 miles from home and staying in a hotel
  3. Its pure coincidence... Not that someone playing airsoft and bringing a grands worth of airsoft gear into the house might encourage a younger brother... No, that would be ridiculous
  4. http://www8.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=category&item=RFHK-CATMAGR-TMMNP&search=special&rs=Pistol%20-%20Magazine%20Catch&catid=116&cat=430&view_choice=b You're welcome You can buy me a pint to thank me
  5. It should be packaged well, so as not to get the item damaged and also so that the courier won't have any reason to think that they are carrying an assault rifle. I personally have had bad experiences with Hermes (lobbing packages over fences, damaging items, not being able to contact the courier) and Yodel (delivering to the wrong address, being difficult to contact), and would recommend you stay clear, but UkMail, DPD and UPS have always been sound in my experience
  6. Google it www.tacticaloptician.co.uk His name is Andy, he was a real gentleman when I dealt with him and I've heard only good things as well
  7. I personally have up with the glasses/goggle combo after finding out that mesh distorts my vision and plastic caused unbelievable fogging. I now have a pair of ballistic eyeshields (ess cross series) with a prescription insert. Got the lot from Andy at Tactical Optician and would recommend his services in a heartbeat. Just give them the fairy liquid treatment the night before a game and forget that fogging is even a thing
  8. From my principle understanding of electricity, using a lower voltage source than the component is designed for is safe, but you won't be getting much bang for your buck, one AAA battery only supplies 1.5v, so you've already been running one off 3v. And its best to figure out your series and parallel wiring, if I were you, I'd link all the necessary batteries in series, then link the fans in parallel so they Don't "share voltage", it drains the battery faster, but 1v per fan won't do much good. As long as you keep it simple, forget about the amperage, just make sure that no fan is powered with a greater voltage than its rated for, and you'll be fine
  9. I never said it would hold up a real sa80, just that it suits me perfectly and hasn't damaged or warped my ics in any way. And I guess it isn't issued any more if there's loads in the surplus shops The reason I moved away from the normal three point us that the strap around my chest was always catching on my pouches and getting in the way of the serpa holster in the middle of my chest, so it just suited me, and the P OP might well suit the three point better, it was just my two pence
  10. maybe its just my geeky side showing, but this was fairly interesting even if i did understand it right off the bat
  11. I give two two second bursts. So that if one didn't open the valve properly then the other will. But if you listen closely you can hear the gas moving (it's quite loud going through TM inlet valves)
  12. You could always ask patrol base, they have loads of krylon and might be able to find a can of pink stuff and sort you out if you don't mind buying the can (might as well have some spare to recoat as needed) and paying for the TT service
  13. Hey guys, looking to replace my SA80 with something a little lighter to use as a backup AEG or a primary for when i play indoors (wont bother trying to use a GBBR at The Hive again after i realised how many mags i would have to carry ) heres a list of what im after: Budget: around £200 Weight: No more than 2.5kg empty style: Any must be able to get hold of replacement parts must accept M4 style magazines preferably compatibly with my PTS magazines must have (or be possible to install) rear sling point must not be longer than an 8" barrel M4 I had been looking at a G&G GR15, but there arent any in stock in the UK that i can find. I'm open to other options, as long as its something reliable and can take a bit of a beating. Thanks
  14. take a picture of the nub under the nozzle port, there should be a little tongue that pushes the BB out of the feed lips and up into the barrel, i had a similar issue when the one on my WE 226 broke
  15. I've used the single point sling without damaging the sling point or butt pad even when running around with my sidearm and the 4.5kg SA80 swinging around my chest by just the sling mount. Fair enough it may be designed to use a three point sling, but the one point won't damage it in my experience (can't talk for a real one though)
  16. The SA80 must be designed for a single point sling because I have an army surplus single point sling. There's a flat screw in the butt pad which tightens the pad against the gearbox which should stop it moving the pad
  17. Hey guys, just want to get an idea from the community of how much i could expect to ask for my SA80 as im toying with the idea of selling it to buy a small, lightweight M4 as my backup AEG as the only time i really use it is at The Hive, which is basically a day of running around and a heavy gun really isnt the best to bring. so, what im selling is listed below, just let me know how much you think it would sell for, but im not selling it yet ICS L85 Mods - Custom metal hop arm, madbull blue bucking, Element H-nub Madbull Daniel Defense RIS system cheapo PEQ box for battery (due to lack of space in the DD RIS) 2x WE block LiPos, 7.4v, 1200 mAh to fit in the above 2x ICS migh cap mags (standard with the gun) army surplus SA80 one-point sling generic SA80 three point sling knock-off magpul AFG2 G&P military tube sight (with lens protector, riser and dovetail adaptor) original carry handle and front sight post I think i still have the original handguard in two tone blue, but still need to rummage around for it. in terms of wear and tear, theres a faux screw missing from the butt pad (doesnt affect performance) and one of the motor connections is missing a crimp, and so the broken crimp has been soldered directly to the terminal. It shoots around 310 FPS on its current set up. So what do you guys think?
  18. I'm no naysayer I just believe in one colour or a camo pattern to each their own I guess
  19. I think the firearms act covers the definition of an IF (and therefore an RIF), basically saying anything capable of lethal or grevious harm than is an IF and anything incabable of such is an imitation Lines in with my experience, after a family friend was carjacked using an air pistol. After the cops found him, they tested the gun and found it was capable of causing serious harm, and so he was charged with armed robbery instead of just a minor offence.
  20. Good choice... The rifle, not the colour mind you.
  21. I got a right good welt once. I moved up to a friendly on a corner who was taking fire, after assessing the situation I made a plan for us both to step out and suppress a target each so I could move in and get the pressure off. As I stepped out I put my head in front of the friendlys gun... Three inches in front . The following bb hit me right on the back of the jaw, just behind the jawbone in the fleshy neck... There was much swearing
  22. I'd not read the punishments to be fair, although an airsoft skirmish is hardly nefarious... Unless you really enjoy throwing pyros at young players and peppering them with fun-snaps til they tell their dad that the big kid is picking on them.
  23. Clearly it isn't always a case of "you get what you pay for", sometimes the cheap stuff works best and other times the expensive stuff is crap... Kind of justifies my wardrobe ( cough* primark)
  24. As Mack said. Whilst it makes sense for someone who has access to a real firearm and who has proven that they understand the care needed in owning, transporting and operating a firearm to have access to the big boys toys that they are, neither UKARA or the legislation works that way, and you need to either make the hire-gun pilgrimage or put up with two tone like the rest of us (or explore the alternative routes which are detailed elsewhere)
  25. Read the firearms act, it's actually explicitly illegal to have with you an imitation firearm (i can't remember the exact wording) which includes having it in the boot of your car. You have a defence to use if you are taking it somewhere for legitimate reasons, like to a skirmish or a shop, but the law actually acts as a blanket ban on having them in public which is allowed to pass with reasonable grounds. So it comes down to both the "judgement of a reasonable person" and whether or not plod thinks you're being sensible You are right though, since the key words are sensible and reasonable, so if you do it right and font cause any alarm, then you aren't going to be charged with an offence, but I assure you, I have read the legislation myself, and I strongly advise anyone else to do the same
