  1. AAP and Hicapa owners will sell you a gun with part names like the Shit Myself BigPP Short Stroker and act surprised when no one wants to pay used car money for it.

  2. The majority of the sites I’ve used a shotgun at have asked to load one bb into a few shells and chrono that way, not sure if that’s the norm but to me it’s the most logical

  3. Nowhere near as expensive as the NVGs there, but I've finally put myself a CQB kit together for if I ever go to events where I can't do my scout sniper / recon role and have to do CQB instead. Already got the guns as I have a KWA mp9, or a CQB MWS with two uppers; one as a more modern mk18, one as a more retro car-15 style. Also already have the plate carrier with weighted training plates to simulate actual armour plates, plus placards for AR/AK, .308 and SMG mags. That left head and face protection that needed doing, as getting shot in the face up close sucks and I don't want expensive dental bills! Also, I am a tall fellow at 6'5" and don't want to scalp myself on any door frames, which someone did actually do at my local site a month or so ago; he's fine now but seeing what he did would make anyone at least a little squeamish. Bought a "ballistic" helmet from Aliexpress for £35, fully expecting that it wouldn't be the IIIA ballistic rating that was advertised because it was a £35 helmet from Aliexpress, and found some Americans who did in fact prove that they are not IIIA ballistic rated. However, what I wanted was a helmet that was big enough for my 62cm head, and also had a nice weight to it to simulate that armour in the same way the weighted plates in my carrier have no ballistic protection but sure make it feel like I'm wearing the real thing! To finish up, I also bought: a helmet cover, pair of earmor m32s and mounts, an Aliexpress anti-fog unit (bought the Nov one too, but thought that £15 was worth trying an Aliexpress one so will use that one first until it dies), a face mask balaclava combo, and then a pair of over-glasses goggles from Novritsch, since I know a lot of opticians are getting difficult when it comes to having inserts glazed, as well as some arc rail anti-fog hose clips to keep it all nice and tidy. Overall, I am pleased. It feels great, fits great and the whole setup came in at under £150 for absolutely everything; I didn't want to spend too much because at the end of the day, I won't be using this setup all that much as I way prefer my scout sniper / recon style of play, but it's nice to have options

  4. It's not just the parts with diminishing returns higher than Danniella Westbrook on Colombian flake that put me off, there's also the hideous colours for the slide and/or grip that look like somebody committed an unholy act on a unicorn.

  5. That's a damning sentence right there

  6. Or they give it a theme and name it then paint the hardcase in the theme, have gaudy quotes all over it and an insane price tag. (Looking at you "joker" themed aap)

  7. AK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I may be biased.... But adding on from that... My VFC AK74 is deadly accurate, dead fun to use and is an absolute work horse. As Lyndication said, it's an old platform but you can fit picatinny rails etc to it in the form of handguards/dust covers and bring it to the 21st century with no real issue. The VFC AK genuinely made me enjoy airsoft again after being an AEG user for 12 odd years. The only issue I found with the VFC AK was after using it for a few games was that every other GBBR I used lacked recoil compared to it 😂

  8. PVS-31 Digital NVG. Not as good as my Gen 3 PVS-14 but better than my Sionyx. Still needs a IR source for complete darkness but in low light they are very clear. Another nice touch is you can switch from green to Phos, B&W and a strange brownish colour. This is the Pro version so you can run off the external battery pack or run it on a single 14500 battery

  9. Because everyone on HRC raves about them, I have bought: Waldo Dynamics MWS Hop adjuster arm and a pack of the Ion MWS return springs. Omega nub was a reasonable stop gap, but it doesn't work briliiantly, and the stock DE return springs are just poo.

  10. A standard V3 AK gearbox should drop straight into it however I believe the motor cage may be proprietary to the NPO for how the stock is mounted. You will lose the selector ability (Should retain safety as it's physical?)

A landy was all the driving I got to do (unless you count a field cooker? It did run on petrol)

Loved the stolly, got to drive one about 28 years ago, absolute monster, can't be many good examples about these days, they rusted faster than an Austin princess lol

There is a real lack of Cold War models (esp British) on the market so when Airfix teased about this Stolly in my prefered scale 1/35 I snapped it up & £10 off for a damaged box that'll be in the bin as soon as it's built.

  14. Thank you I have heard this from other players as well. I can put a small grub screw on the selector to lock it out if needed, currently only play 2 or 3 sites and they don’t have an issue with a programming / electrical lock out.

  15. I got the NVG's from Aliexpress and it was delivered for £566 which is about the price of a Tm NGRS. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006816652648.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.29.136c1802fL5pMX The price listed is £649 but when I went to buy them they knocked off £100 at checkout. Not sure if this is for everyone but I wasn't going to complain. I'll try to stick up a video showing the quality (once it gets dark!)

  16. I've achieved a mechanical lock in several ways, the simplest is superglueing on a fake domed rivet head (3d printed) to limit the movement of the selector switch. Seems to be accepted by the sites I frequent (albeit to be fair, so does an electronic lock via the FCU at those sites).

  17. Yeah different models of VFC have different materials in the parts, and it's tricky to work out which come with what a lot of the time.

  18. Just be aware that many (most?) sites will not accept that and will require the gun to be mechanically locked to semi.

  19. Most sites I've been to ask you to only load 1 bb and chrono that. At Blackstone they put a piece wood in front of the chrono and did this. To me this is the most accurate method

  20. Different batches will have different parts. It's a bit of pot luck. V3/V2 just really refers to the big design improvements not the standardisation of parts used in the build. My first VFC was from 2018 it was all steel apart from the bolt carrier. I've since had a few more and everyone has been a little different. Lucky the parts are cheap and easy to source/install

  21. Load the shell normally, get close to the chrono, and put the barrel so that only the top inner barrel will actually fire through the chrono. The other two should just smash against the table or whatever. Yeah it sucks, but like the others said if you just fire three BBs through the chrono it gives bad readings, but also if you fire with only one barrel loaded the gas vents out the other two and the measured power on that one BB is much lower.

    Chronoing Gas Shotguns

Chronoing gas shotguns is both easy and hard, depending on the kit on hand. As you've found, most site chronos struggle - the gas can upset them, as can multiple BBs going through the gates, which is how you end up with mad 5J readings. Lots of places will tell you to just load one BB and fire that, which is inaccurate the other way and often leads to lower readings (lots of gas will just escape out of the other barrels). The only way to do it really accurately is to use radar chronos (https://airsoftdirect.uk.com/product/valken-airsoft-chronograph-custom-chrono-x-radar/) but they're not especially common. FWIW if I chrono at home with multiple BBs, I often get 3J+ readings. If I chrono with one BB, it will usually show around 0.7J but if I chrono on a radar with three BBs it's around 1J.

  23. Based on general experience, the gearbox from the people that made the gun should have a better chance of fitting directly and working properly - but there are no guarantees. The other thing I've found is that some V2 boxes in G3/G36/MP5 are subtly different than a standard V2 box (selector plate for one) so just check that before you drop coin on one.

  24. I have been listening to the two albums by Pelegrin today. They are a “soft doom” band with North African/Spanish overtones. This is the title track from their first album.

  25. @DanielDefenceWell it arrived today and I'm happy with it. It works and the mag is gas tight. They delivered using parcel2go which then used Yodel. The true test of any retailer is to see how they behave when there's a problem, but no issues here with the RIF. A few bargains in their sales section (at least there were last week)

  26. Same goes for people who list a gun and have it pictured with a load of accessories, only to bury "accessories not included" sonewhere in the description. 🙄 If it's not included, don't list or show it.

  27. I've just bought something in their sale so I'll let you know how it goes 🤞. I used PayPal in case there are issues. It looks like it's a shop tied to an airsoft site I think.
