    Yeah it already had the piston fooked when I bought it, EBB disabled and the majority of the gearbox has had new parts thrown in that aren't ares. The only thing that is still ares is the shell, trigger unit and the horrible EFCS on the outside of the gearbox. It's reliable now, just not getting used at all since I got a vfc gbbr but as I'll be selling it at a loss I'll just keep hold of it until it dies lol

    Decent faux gas tubes longer than carbine length aren't super commonly available relatively speaking, so that's a good find to add to a proper M16. That said, in theory it really shouldn't be the gas tube that keeps the handguards tight. Airsoft guns are weird sometimes, but the presence (or otherwise) of the tube shouldn't change the fitment of the handguards at all one way or the other. Was your barrel nut loose and rotating around on the front of the upper receiver per chance? In the lower image, the delta ring spring does look like something is a bit awry perhaps, though it's always hard to tell from a still image of course. I mean if it's fixed now and that's you satisfied then hey that's the end goal, all good. The circumstances there just intrigued me.

    Rarity doesnt automatically mean worth more, though a "unique" rifle like a T97 or PDRC does. This is just a G36. A G36 is not rare. The fact that it's rare to get an Ares G36X I would say might factor the price down more considering how badly Ares are considered to be these days. The upgrades will hardly affect the value as well. I would say a 1/3rd of what you paid for them and you cant pass on the labour cost either. Paintjob is usually detrimental unless it's freshly done and protected/cerakoted in which case it would neither be negative or positive, but you would have to find a buyer who actually wanted that exact paintjob. Considering the pissed scope, the paintjob, brand and damage you have shown, I would say you would be very lucky to get £200.

    Strong possibility I won't make the 'Nam game coming up in September due to car issues, but still going to make sure all my kit works properly just in case... Got another repro colt 4x scope coming for the car-15 and 8 (yes, 8!) more mags for the kar98k on the way. Tend to cover the scope with scrim as it's a bit modern, but no way in hell am I using a crappy zf39 scope. I specifically modified my receiver to accept that scope mount purely so that I didn't have to use the old zf39 scopes or a scout scope mounted super far forwards Kar98k will probably have to be run at 1.1J though because I doubt the sniper ban will be lifted at Eversley in September. I think it tends to get lifted a bit later in the year.

    I'm looking for a suitable holster for a gen 5 glock, which will be running an rmr and possibly/probably a light (can buy something suitable depending on holster). I like the Safariland style with level 2 hood, but sadly mine doesn't fit a gen 5 or an rmr. Will consider anything, ideally with a mid level drop setup but willing to look at anything suitable before splashing out on new TIA
