    Opinions please. I have a clone Ashbury ASW338LM bolt action 'sniper'. No markings, VSR compatable-ish, plastic picatinny rails over a carbon fibre effect forend, fully adjustable folding stock with a monopod, heavy metal body, looks the business. Its the one that was in the boneyard for a few days. Has problems - slam firing and misfeeding. It's not working irritated me enough that I decided to dismantle and fix it - changing out a worn VSR sear being a not uncommon fix 🙂 and if I've got it dismantled enough that I can get at the trigger group I should be able to see what the feeding issue is too. About 30(!) bolts and screws later I've got the thing apart. Faults obvious - the afore mentioned sear and a hop unit with both a duff rubber and a very broken hop adjustment armature. Now, I have most if not all of the bits necessary to fix it, could even upgrade some parts as I go eg steel sear, stainless steel inner etc. But, if I fix and reassemble it, at the end of the day(s) I'll still have a clone Ashbury ASW338LM springer, with no markings, which I don't want, I'll never use, and isn't worth very much. Am I falling into the 'polishing a t**d' trap? and would do better selling on the parts, rather than a heavy, not as good as a real VSR, compatable-ish Ashbury RIF? TL:DR is it actually worthwhile repairing it?

    I'm guessing you use a rifle with your current plate carrier. If you're happy with that why not just swap out the rifle mag pouches with smg ones?

    Tokyo Marui AK47 in good working order however it must be over 20 years old so I've put it in boneyard, you might get several years out of it or it could be quite a bit less. Printed rear sight and printed button on folding stock lock. The stock lock does work but is more of a temporary fix and will need replacement in the future.     Ye I’ve already got a Hpa set up, I’m running a tippmann and then an mp7 with a mp5 mag adapter so my plan was to get the mp5 adapter for the vmp2 as well

    Thanks, I was originally looking to just sell as a bundle around the £450 £500 mark, the scope is a repro I think I paid about £100 for it at the time. The case is a large nurpol hard case as you say the foam has some torn out sections. Foregrip is not real steel it’s a standard magpul one if I remember. do you think that this is achievable?

    From the back plate just where the valve sits. Visually i can’t see anything leak out but i do hear the gas escaping whilst filling. Also after testing its only able to shoot 10bbs roughly before running out of gas

    I usually run a chest rig, but you could try one of the placard-style rigs that take different inserts for different mags. Do you have a pic of the plate carrier?

    Which case is that? Is that's Nurpol Large hard case, you should get £40 to £50 - with the torn out sections of the foam, you should anticipate some bartering down closer to £40 as a buyer may wish to replace the foam. The RIF should fetch 60-70% of the lowest current retail price from a UK shop. You could retain a similar amount of value with the Gate Titan as it is popular. The value of the dot sight will depend on it being real steel or a repro/generic RDS. The more detail you could give, the better. The sling, fore grip, battery and extra mags should perhaps be looked upon as deal sweeteners as I assume neither the sling nor the fore grip are real steel without a brand name mentioned.

    Do you mean the sides of the back plate or at the top of the mag? The O ring around the input valve or that around the stem may have worn or dried where its now pushed up by the plate and breaks the seal. The O ring may either need to be reseated or replaced entirely.

    Hi ladies and gents, Firstly, my apologies that I don't have a huge amount of information on this. I got it secondhand many years ago with the intention of getting it up and running but life got in the way and now its time to re-home it. I've listed all the information I have below to the best of my knowledge. I belive the base is a Magpul Scout PTS RM4A1 ERG. The rifle body, barrel, receiver etc are all metal, the muzzle brake is (I believe) a "real steel" surefire FH556-216A flash hider (or a good quality reproduction). I also believe that the handguard may be a "real steel" one as well but cant be sure. The flashlight is functional but I'm not sure of the brand. Decent quality though. The sight is an eotech copy/repro (needs a new battery) and the stock is a magpul ACS stock but again, Im not sure if it's genuine or a repro. I haven't tested it but I imagine it will need some work to get it going again and I dont know what I'm doing in that regard I'm afraid. A new ERG without the additional bits and pieces would most likely set you back upwards of £450 however this is sold as non-functional (hence the relatively low price). A nice project for someone who knows what they're doing
