30k motor with m115 springs for classic army dt4?

Anyway I got a classic army dt4 with a krytac 30k motor and upgraded barrels and hopup and I was just test firing it today and the krytac motor started heating up after only one mag on each barrel. I thought that I needed a more powerful motor to work two barrels but after only like 400 shots the motor is already heating up. I am also using a big ass rc battery because i thought that would help the motor but the the motor still seems to be working really hard to fire even thought its shooting around 400fps 20rps. the springs i am using are just m115 and i am getting crazy fps for those springs. Are my springs and gearbox going to be shot if i keep using a 30k motor and should i get a 7.4 battery instead of the big boy?

There is rather a lot to unpack here! I read that the DT4 is a double barrel M4, with a single gearbox but containing two separate compression systems. Presumably that therefore means that your poor motor is having to pull back two of your M115 springs with each cycle. That's brutal punishment for the motor, and it's no wonder that it is getting warm.

 

You mention that it is doing 400fps - what weight BB are you using? On anything usual - e.g. a 0.20g bb and up, 400FPS will be over any UK site power limit, and more importantly, the UK legal limit for something that is capable of full auto - in its present set up, it is possible that your gun is classed as an illegal firearm.

 

I'd recommend removing the M115 springs and popping in something around an M90 (or possibly an M95)  - which, given the inner barrel length is quoted at 290mm, would likely give you powers within UK site limits, and give your motor an easier time. It will still heat up though, albeit to a lesser extent.

 

The battery that you are using - you say its a big one from an RC car) hopefully that is no higher than 11.1v, if it is, you will be stressing the electrical system, and risks destroying your mosfet.

Yeah im from the US, and the fps limit at our indoor field is like 350 fps but they never chrono anyone so idk. At some point i might try to switch the springs out but right now I am just going to try to play with the set up i have right now and just fire on semi because auto is banned anyway.  Thanks for the help!

OK, I'll try to be polite, quick change box couldn't be easier to change the spring & bring it down to your site limits, irrespective if they chrono.

Think about it, you've already got a fairly high speed gun, then combine by x2 due to the double barrels, surely it's not necessary to inflict unnecessary pain on your fellow players, & what if you did & someone demands you're chronoed, maybe you don't get to play at your local site again.

I appreciate what that dude said about the risk of destroying my gun and that changing springs would fix the motor heating but I literally chronoed the gun again today after maybe expending half of my battery life and it was shooting 345-365 fps so I am not worried about it shooting to powerfully and in the US no one rly gives a crap about fps or anything just bc we dont have dumb gun laws like the UK. I think the setup is rly innefficent and thats why im having trouble, just alot of wasted energy. And I can always use 0.28 grams bbs to lower fps for the shitty chronos the refs have because they havent learned to look at the joules 😂.  And tons of ppl especially at the outdoor field run dmr or hpa setups way over 400fps that shoot fast a girlfriend literally got part of her mask shot off once so i dont think anyone really cares.

You should not be allowed anywhere near an airsoft field; you encapsulate everything that is bad about this hobby.
