Just received a patch from UK Airsoft Federation. https://ukairsoftfederation.co.uk/index.html

Asked for it on Monday, it came today. It would have come sooner but the guy, who I presume is UKAF, was ill but let everyone know they will be late.

Top marks for communication.

How much I hear you ask? Nothing. Free. Zilch. Nada. Just asked to support what they're/he is trying to do.

Top marks for engagement so far. Say you'll do something to engage with the people that you want to support, and actually do it!

So to summarise,

  • free
  • delivered, on time
  • didn't have to chase it. At all.

I think you can see where this is going . . . .

@proffrink Where's mine, and countless others, patches?

No names, no source of funding, collecting personal data... hmm...

Ian Lawrence is the guy but fair points. After seeing the utter fiasco on the other thread about UKAPA, it's good to see someone being proactive. I for one am, tentatively, supporting them.

What are they (is he) doing that makes them (him) worth supporting?

Don't know yet, but I'm watching with interest.

This. Call me cynical but this isn't the first time an organisation has appeared making grand (but vague) claims about how they're going to represent players and change the hobby, only for them to do ⅘ths of fuck all before quietly disappearing.22945743.jpg.f6b5e086733771db84517081c4a0cbdd.jpg

Rather be -£ and no patch than rep that.

So you're advertising your support for someone when you have no idea what they do/stand for, because they sent you something free?

Are you sure you don't have a YouTube channel? 😄

When you look at it that way, yes, I'm a bit of a slut! 🤣

The correct term is patch whore, and yes you appear to be that.

Given my short time in the hobby (call it a 5years or so since first game) even I have seen a number of groups and "orgs" come and fade one of the most hilarious was "Ascension research/Airsoft"

They bought a meme/cringe FB page with hints that they were going to "change the Airsoft landscape"

So I shall also remain sceptical as well.
