Looking to get a gas gun, personal preference is non GBB, which restricts my options more than if I wanted GBB.

As my game play is evolving, I'm finding myself trying to flank the field and set up to ambush somewhere between (but not in sight of) their spawn point and objectives, but without being a bush, currently using an AEG which is fine until I'm in position, where its quite noisy for ambushing.

I'm liking the look of the mk23 platform, so have been looking at quite a few new, long term ownership and tech reviews to try to hep me chose, now, they all have their issues, which I'd expect from any mechanical equipment. Price point, the pistol with some spare mags is obviously more attractive than the SSX303, however, the latter, if on lower power, can be used without need for a second firearm, but with the higher price point and requiring either more mags than I'd need with the pistol as a secondary, or carrying additional BBs and speed loader, it makes it a lot more expensive. With regards budget, either option won't be a problem, although in time I may look at DMR or sniper rifles.

For me, of more importance is customer service and parts availability. My local RFD lists quite a few brands of my mk23 platforms, including the SSX303 and I'm seeing lots off issues regarding Noveritsch's customer service and long lead times for parts., which seem to be worse than others.  What are members experience of various brands of pistol and SSX303, as well as ease of parts and customer service?

The TM MK23 is probably the best fit for you. They "can" be upgraded to do some pretty mental stuff but a stock TM Mk23 is very quiet and will happily flick a 28 at least 30 metres without any fuss.

When you start looking at clones, STTi, ASG and Novi - They are that, a "clone" and for the most part, genuinely all the same gun. I wouldn't brand Novi stuff as "bad" more that it's sold as "ready" out the box and people get miffed if they need to do anything, he sells box loads so there will always be bad feedback flying around compared to those qho quietly buy an STTi for £40 and expect a long build up.

I'v personally had 3 STTi's, an ASG and have finally settled on a TM. I've done some mods, Hadron TDC, flamingo bucking, SBA suppressor and removed the 2 stage sear and I'm very happy with it as it is ultimately "just" a sidearm backup pistol.

Having owned both the TM and ASG I'd say while the ASG isn't a bad gun, the TM is certainly better in terms of quality and performance

I've had the TM, my son has the asg, out of the box the TM is best, even before any mods are applied, definitely the one to have👍

Thanks for the replies Looks like it'll be the TM then. My local RFD sells them stock and modified, although the latter isn't in stock as much, but reading the description saying parts availability, I'm guessing their tech does the upgrade in store?

I now what you mean @Steveocee, having come from the world of air guns and knowing a few gunsmiths who specialise in air, as opposed to SG and FAC, I know even the "best" will have problems common with other brands, which is why I like to try to check out customer service and ease of obtaining parts.

Gets rid of that half cock "feature". Smoother trigger pull and more consistent when firing.

I'd be interested in this too - the trigger pull is one of the worst bits of the pistol. Does it still allow you to work it in single action  - i.e. manually lock the hammer back? I have a tendency to inadvertently depress the hammer against me/my kit when playing, and vent all of the gas in a mag as a result, so i tend to leave the hammer cocked back when its holstered to prevent this....

edit - just found a tutorial at this link. https://www.onmymk.com/post/2017/10/11/Double-Action-Double-the-effort

Still interested whether it allows the hammer to be manually locked in the cocked position though....

No it doesn't. The sear you remove is what allows the manual cock function.
