09phillt
Hi I have a Bison 701, this http://www.justbbguns.co.uk/index.php?page...ead=BISON%20701 It's a decent gun for the money, but there's no sight on it and no rail comes with it. I was wondering how would I attach a scope, and what would be a low-cost choice of scope and mounting, preferably less than £50. I was thinking of sticking a rail on from an old G36 I have that no longer works and putting this sight on using these mounts. Good idea? http://www.geniestuff.co.uk/scope-3-9x40-airsoft.htm http://www.geniestuff.co.uk/weaver-mounts.htm Cheers in advance.
Supporters Rock-climby-Dave Posted July 19, 2011 Supporters Share Posted July 19, 2011 attatching a scope worth using will cost roughly double what you paid for the gun, I'd just stick to iron sights.

Even if I'm just doing it with my firends in the forest? I don't play seriously like most of the pople here so is a scope like this suitable? I don't play seriously like most of the pople here so is a scope like this suitable? Few Questions; Do you own this forest? If not, do you have the owner's permission to use it? Are your 'guns' completely out of sight of the public at all times? If not, stop using it for airsoft. You'll help ruin the sport for all of us. By 'seriously' I'll assume you mean skirmishes. Which actually aren't particularly serious compared to some of the events! And no, a scope on that gun really isn't worth it. It's not accurate enough for a scope to be worthwhile. Spend your £50 on a day hiring guns at your local site instead!
Supporters M_P Posted July 19, 2011 Supporters Share Posted July 19, 2011 There's no point, the gun won't be accurate with a scope anyway
joshcowin
best thing to do is go to a site and rent guns and see if you actually like airsoft because you cant play on the park.thats why the ukaras in place

09phillt
We usually play at night in a forest like 5 miles from anybody, and we've never even seen anybody near it so it's probably ok. IS there any way to make this gun more accurate without spending hundreds of pounds?
Supporters Liam Porter Posted July 20, 2011 Supporters Share Posted July 20, 2011 No, it's not 'probably okay'.. you don't own it, so it's trespassing (unless it's public, meaning using airsoft guns is illegal). And at night makes no difference, if people hear/see you shooting at night, they're more likely to call the police. Just stick to your own land (but check with your neighbours so they know and make sure they don't mind) and official airsoft skirmish sites. And probably not. If you could, it wouldn't be worth it. You're better off going to a skirmish, renting guns for the day and saving up to get a more suitable gun..

I bought an AEG m4 for that price and it broke the next day.
G-Force
Don't buy from just BB guns if you want to use the gun for skirmishing. Also you NEED to stop playing in that forest! It's because of things like that that nearly got airsoft banned. Go to a skirmish site or get permision from a landowner.
09phillt
OK thanks for all your advice. I've decided to not buy a sight, if it's not accurate enough then there's no point. Cheers.

09phillt
Well the thing is that there is nowhere else to play around here. This bit of forest is weird because it's not public but nobody really owns it.
AF-UK Founding Member Deva Posted July 22, 2011 AF-UK Founding Member Share Posted July 22, 2011 Where abouts do you live? If someone does own it you're trespassing and if it isn't then you're still playing in public no matter how remote you think the area may be. 09phillt
North Yorkshire, i went on this map that showed all the airsoft centres in the Uk and there was this massive gap around Scarborough, where I am. We don't have our own transport and can't get to any proper centres so we're stuck in the woods. Btw I spent my money on a s&w sigma co2 pistol instead of a sight.
