Hello,

Looking at getting a Tokyo Marui pistol, and I'm wondering what is the best option in people's opinions? Hi capa, fnx, g17 gen 4 etc?

Thinking accuracy, range and reliability

1st two why? A pistol is a back up gun. if you can hit centre mass at 20m you're laughing. if that's your criteria H&K MK23 is the best. No blow back to throw of your aim, It will out range AEGs and its function is less harsh than a GBB.

If you want a GBB they are all pretty much the same performance wise. on 144a gas with 0.25g BBs you can get consistent hits out to 35m to 40m.

the newer models HK45, FNX 45, M541, m9, 4th gen Glock all have newer design Blow back unit which is more efficient and nicer finishes.

I personally Like the HK45 but in the end all of them will pretty much be better than any other brand of GBB. Yes they can run on high powered gas and it will shorten their life span. they are designed to run on 144a and that's all they need.

If you want a back up then they'll all do the job.  The MK23 has a very long trigger pull though I seem to recall from using the lad's.

What do you want to use it for?  CQB primary, back-up in woodland, themed game etc etc.

Whichever one you like the look of most. There are some that are very specialised, for example the mk23 is great for silence, range, accuracy, gas efficiency and reliability thanks to the NBB nature, but the trigger pull absolutely sucks which means you won't make the most out of that accuracy unless you manually pull back the hammer yourself every time. Suffice to say, this sucks for fast shooting and mine only comes out when it's both very cold and wet; if it's only very cold or only wet I have other options that I immediately go for. Also, the 1911 has tiny magazines and I've heard the m9 models can be a bit crap, but outside of that TM pistols are generally created equally and are all fantastic.

My favourite is my HK45 because I like .45 calibre pistols and the HK45 feels great in my hands. Plus it has a suppressor, and I like putting suppressors on everything!

Come on, we all know the correct answer is the Tac Master

that design has been around since the late 90s

Tried and tested!

I think we can all agree my suggestion was a bit tongue in cheek, though the TM M9 design is decently accurate, good on gas, and pretty cheap.  The mags are a

bit of a pain to work on, but the rest is pretty solid and easy to tinker with.

They’re all more or less the same for accuracy and reliability. Range the FNX is hands down the winner. 80m’s on red gas with 0.4’s, measured precisely by me

What Joules, mister?  That sounds like a pocket-DMR.

I don’t remember precisely, but somewhere around 1joule.

It will hit a torso sized object every shot at 65m, reached to 80m but the last 15m get a little flighty

Another vote for the FNX.

It just feels better than all my glocks and other pistols, except maybe my TM Foilage warrior, but performance wise just thunks bb's where you want them to go.

Only downside is the recessed valve is a bastard to replace if you need to due to the mag bumpers.
