  1. I’ve posted ad nauseum about mine (Gen 2 bought Jan 2019) and it’s pretty much all positive The downsides are that the stock catch WILL break (get the Crusader steel one which is about £15 and fit it immediately), and the teeny-tiny grub screws on the switchgear can work loose so they could do with a bit of locktight. The front face of the BCG can wear a bit of you let it lock back on empty (I do) which means it could sometimes fail to hold back on empty due to the surface rounding off. The BCG was about £40, and was took five minutes to change. I didn’t have to change it as it fired perfectly as it was, I just like that it held open on empty. It took probably 20k rounds for it to start to wear to the point I wanted to change it, which is about 500 magazines worth of shooting. If mine breaks I will buy another one without any hesitation
  2. I don’t know, it just made me chuckle that the email was like “Do you want some TM bits? A new MP5K? Do you want to buy the business?”
  3. Cool’s a subjective thing, so if it’s your thing that’s all good. Have a look at see if you can find one with a proper safety rating and you’re good to go!
  4. It’s not my vibe, but to each their own. I do have some concerns though: I can’t see a proper safety rating on the glasses. For me that’s an immediate non starter. The cost is pretty hectic, and for me if I was spending that kind of cash I’d buy another PTS Flux or something equally Gucci. I’d really struggle to get my head behind the sights, and to get a decent cheek weld. Even with a high riser on the sight I don’t think it’d be workable for me. Although the inbuilt fan is supposed to be silent, I wonder if it actually would be and how effective it will be. That looks like a sweaty time. The safety aspect is the most pressing, and I’d investigate that further, but the rest is up to you!
  5. I’ve got one of these: https://airtac.me/products/gen-3-209-primer-holder-dispenser It’s nice and neat, and can slot into the webbing nicely.
  6. I wear my PTS Flux indoors for CQB as the Black Site is dark and has many things I can doink my head on (mostly due to being clumsy). It’s also saved me a couple of times from what would have been very painful close range shots. It gives a stable platform to mount my ears, as well as my head torch too. Plus I think it looks cool! I got the Spiritus Systems cover which is arguably the most underwhelming thing I’ve bought for the money in my entire life (it was about £90 if I remember correctly), so get a knockoff from eBay. MTEK do laser cut camoskins in various patterns if you don’t want a cover. There’s sod all chance I’ll wear it in the woods though except for the coldest of cold days.
  7. I use a PTS Flux and it’s super comfy. The cutout at the back is useful for looking up stairs/being prone, and it’s easily the comfiest helmet I’ve ever worn. It’s a licensed copy of the real deal, and there aren’t that many around which is quite nice. It’s not all roses though. As the pads are memory foam they can get super warm in the height of summer, but that’s the price you pay for the comfort. The straps and pads come out to be washed if you have sweated in I t. As the rails are MLOK you have to be a bit more discerning over putting things on it, but I’ve not had an issue with things like putting cans on there. And then there’s the cost. As it’s a proper replica and is made of nice things it’s not the cheapest around, but it arguably one of the best.
  8. Don’t know if it’s entirely useful information, but I run a Warhead Standard Black on a base set of gears and a 9.9v LiFe and it’s pretty bloody snappy and very efficient on battery life. For me, before everything a Warhead Motor is now the first upgrade before anything else
  9. For just £4.99 more you can have a new one with warranty (one in stock at time of posting)… https://a2supplies.co.uk/products/we-hi-power-browning-mk3-gas-blowback-pistol-black
  10. Great motor, but for £7.99 (p&p) extra you can have one direct from Warhead themselves with a warranty… https://www.warheadindustries.co.uk/product-page/warhead-industries-brushless-aeg-motor-ultrahigh-speed-short-shaft
  11. You’re both absolutely correct! Totally missed that!
  12. The thinner one is an MP7. It’s not a VFC due to the two pins above the baseplate. I’m guessing KWA? Edit: Having a look on google I’m pretty sure it is a KWA. As far as value goes, as it looks like it’s just been found on a site (fresh mud?) and is of indeterminate age/condition I’d say probably £10. I’d probably give it to the site and see if they could find the owner though if it was in a bush Edit 2: missed the TM stamps on it as pointed out below 😂
  13. If your boots are Goretex (or equivalent) and have a gusseted tongue you may want to look at a pair of gaiters rather than Seal Skinz socks as the main area of ingress will be over the top/wicking through your trousers.
  14. Time to send all the broken/knackered stuff we all have kicking around at the back of the drawer. I’ve got a KWA USPC with a knackered hop that it’s impossible to fix and make work for example…
  15. Sorting out the semi issue on an ICS l85 is probably the easiest repair on any Airsoft gun I’ve done, other than tightening a fill valve on a pistol as it’s one screw fitting a £15 replacement part. However, the semi issue only occurs through wear, so if he’s got one that only shoots auto and one that does both then the one that only shoots auto has been used far more. Assuming the exterior’s not farked and the rest of it works okay I’d be tempted to have a punt at £150…

  17. I’ve got a pair of Lowa Z8’s and I love them, however as many have said my feet aren’t your feet! I also found Scarpa’s to be really comfy, so maybe they might not be good for you as a result? I used to play in Magnum’s when they were really cheap, but looking back I should have spent the money and played in something of decent quality like Lowa, Scarpa, Meindl, or Salomon. Doing so would have reduced the odd issues I have now. It’s going to be a bit of a mission to get the right boot, but once you’ve found a brand (and therefore last) that works for you stick with it. Personally I’ll only ever buy Lowa again as I know they fit me like a glove. Without wanting to dismiss your issues, and without want to sound patronising are you drinking enough when you’re playing? I work on my feet all day, and when I’m dehydrated my feet bloody kill me regardless of the footwear I’m wearing. Making sure I was well hydrated meant that any pain in my feet was due to being old and fat!
  18. ASG do higher power gases now. Their top gas is 178psi (Ultrair is 135psi) and there’s also a 164psi gas The 178psi is properly lairy in anything other than the coldest of coldest weathers
  19. Yes, but for seals. On hop rubbers it’s not so good for consistency
  20. I like Ultrair as it’s a ‘dry’ gas (https://actionsportgames.com/en-gb/productcatalog/ultrair-power-propellent-gas-without-silicone-570-ml). It’s decent in the winter, and not too daft in the summer. The lack of lube means the hop stays pretty consistent
  21. Just a quick tip for anyone that has one of the above, mine was sometimes misfiring by either being super gassy on shots or doing a full auto burst. I thought it might be one of the mags being a bit sticky, and made a note of which ones it was misbehaving with, but there didn’t seem to be a pattern. As the mags were all relatively new I resigned myself to just rolling the dice when I pulled the pistol. However, because I’m a tart I found a Crusader steel extractor whilst browsing around and thought I’d pimp the pistol a little bit. It turns out that the stock extractor, which acts as the nozzle return spring guide, had broken and was jamming the spring intermittently. So, for all of you out there with a VFC/Umarex USP/P8A1 check your extractors, and consider proactively changing the extractor out.
  22. I’ve had a pair of Earmor’s now for about two years and they’re superb. I particularly enjoy that when they knock out the bangs it doesn’t cut all the sound so you can still hear what’s going on Sound quality-wise they’re a smidge ‘tinny’, and I’d definitely recommend switching to the silicone ear cups They are very good for directional sound so you can hear where you’re being snuck up from, and battery life is very good too with a new set of AAA’s being needed ever fifteen game days or so
