Here is what we are painting make you have all your stuff you want to paint laid out clearly and any screws and springs kept secure, Any moving parts or any items you dont want to paint make sure are securely covered by newspaper or other.

Start to sand down for a better coat of paint, Use wet and dry paper, keep going under you are happy, should take about 5 - 10 minutes per item.

As you can see the past black started to show through.

Make sure the spray can is a fair distance back so you don't smudge or bubble the paint.

Hi, it was kylon camo paint but they don't make it any more, they do make Krylon fusion but I'm unsure whether its the same stuff. i believe Jerseys thread has some paints that are usable.

You can use any Acrylic based paint

But the stuff he was useing here was Krylon paint which you can see in pic 3 i think

Many surplus stores (my local included) will have a similar type of paint in most DPM colours, which produces a nice, matte finish, perfect for guns or other gear.

How many layers and what spray paint did you use? And did you use any primer or was it durable enough without?

That is one fine paint job. I normally just paint guns, i never sand paper them. Will do this when i next need to Two-Tone a gun for selling.

What's the best type of paint to use for metal and plastic parts?

And do you still sand down the metal?
