RR01
Fairy Powerspray. Makes it bump off. Spray on, work it in to all the cracks, leave for about 15 minutes, then wash off. May need a bit of scrubbing as well to loosen any stubborn bits,(try an old tooth brush) but it comes off very easily.

Unfortunately the new citrus version is no where near as good, not even close and the original version has now turned into the quest for the holy grail it's so hard to find (i even think fairy have stated that they have discontinued the original in favour of the new citrus version). Anyway there are many ways of getting it off, just google it there are hundreds of threads and videos with different methods.
Root Admin proffrink Posted December 3, 2016 Root Admin Share Posted December 3, 2016 Isopropyl alcohol will remove it slowly and carefully on plastic - if it has a primer layer or lacquer then it's less effective though. On metal it's pretty good as well. If it's metal then normal paint stripper is fine (depending on the finish) as most won't remove an anodised finish but may remove powder coat. Obviously don't use stripper on plastic as it'll do a fair bit of damage.
Hangtight
Depends what's underneath. Acetone will take it off easy, but has a really nasty effect on ABS plastic (in fact it'll melt it, badly!)

Just googled my local sainsbury and it said they had it in stock ( original green bottle)?
Chris801
Petrol is safe and works well but won't remove all types of paint, cellulose thinners will remove all paints but do not use on abs plastic only metal or polymer Cellulose you can buy in Halfords Personal experience is not massive but I have used cellulose on a plastic G&G raider, a&K m249 and we scar, petrol on ics as cellulose will melt the plastic
Supporters Finius Posted December 3, 2016 Supporters Share Posted December 3, 2016 Don't know what's in Krylon but Dettol (the basic brown liquid) is pretty good for stripping a lot of spray paints and doesn't hurt plastic.

Roundel91
Original Dettol used to work pretty well on my plastic airfix models. Although it needs a good soaking
