l96Freeman
Was just looking at some of the news for BF3 when I saw this BF3 Premium + Close Quarters Of course the issue is that some people, like me have bought B2K and it would be a waste of time buying it again. And really? EA is obsessed with ripping people off it seems.. You buy half a game for £40 and then pay £40 to experience the "full" game Honestly, I'm interested but it is a waste of money unless you haven't bought B2K. And I might not want Close Quarters anyway because it looks like Cod maps. But... Get the maps early and a knife!

Supporters TPI Posted June 5, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 5, 2012 to be totally honest it will just give me a reason to sell my Xbox and go all PC but i like MOH`s Multiplayer when i was winning obviously.
lemon191
i wont be buying the premium as tbh id rarther spend a small amount more but spread out than throw the larger sum in one go at them considering none of the benefits really interest me . however i cant see why people moan about it? they were always going to make more dlc that you have to fork out for thats just the way it is now for most games. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted June 5, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 5, 2012 What's up with this new update? 2.4GB is utterly ridiculous, what the hell are they adding now? I bet the new DLC is included in the download, purchasing it will just unlock the content. I've not looked much into the premium thing, but the fact that weapon camos are in it has turned me off it somewhat. That sounds like a CoD feature to me, if they're steering that way then I'm going to stop playing the game.
Supporters TPI Posted June 5, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 5, 2012 Ed It`s where they have been going since the release of BF3 their ditching the Fan's of old to try and muscle in on COD which they will fail at unless the COD Franchise fail's to pick it's self up
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted June 5, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 5, 2012 I've just been looking into it and it actually does make sense to pay for it if you're going to get all the expansions, which do all sound good, for the new guns if nothing else. I think I probably will end up getting it. The only way DICE have really pissed me off with this game is in the rent-a-server thing on console. There are hardly any standard DICE servers left because they're all being rented by players, who are obviously out to improve the game for themselves more than anyone else. They ought to have left a reasonable number of DICE servers intact. I only play Hardcore and the only DICE hardcore servers that are running in the Europe area are the Epic Battles conquest rotation, I've not played any other maps since the last patch. Edit: The new weapons are viewable on Battlelog now, I am immensely disappointed with some of the weapon specs... The L86 doesn't have a semi-fire mode and has 45 round magazines... Yet more weapon inaccuracies... It even says in the description that its duties leaned more towards the DMR role... The 417 doesn't have an auto mode. The ACR details sheet says it uses the recoil reducing "Grendal" round, which as far as I'm aware is a 6.8mm round, yet the specs say it fires the 5.56... Sigh. I hope the guns for the other expansions are better. Second edit: WHY HAVE THEY CHANGED THE BULLET DROP ON ALL THE SNIPERS?! Jesus Christ I'm starting to f*cking HATE DICE passionately. Tariq
Yeah for the expansions and guns it seems OK, but atm people just seem to be buying it for the status. Whats the point of a "BF Premium" dog tag... it just shows you have just spent £40 on a game.... doesnt mean you're any good.

Searley
I don't honestly see what all the fuss is about. for £39.99 you are getting 4 expansion packs that all would be £10 at least anyway. Plus new weapons, 20 new maps and monthly double xp weekends. The Karkand pack is included as "Free" within that price when you get to checkout, so you're not paying for that again (If you even paid for it the first time) As for the new patch, the DART has been made useless even if the enemy is standing 3 foot infront of you. The MAV glitching under/over maps still hasn't been sufficiently stomped out. As for the 2.4GB yes the new DLC is included in that, as it was last time for the Karkand release. MZKaleem
I have it but for the £34 I paid I got what I needed. (To know that I won't have to use my dad's credit card to buy MSP's when the DLC comes out. Also, Armoured kill doesn't have any new guns apparently! :'( The new vehicles have to be really good to cheer me up. And I got Limited edition so I didn't pay for B2K. I don't really care about the descriptions of guns, as long as it works in the game, it's good enough for me.
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted June 7, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 7, 2012 I only paid about £30 for it as well, so it's certainly worth doing for the financial side if nothing else. I'm pretty sure all the DLC packs are getting new guns, 10 new guns, 4 new maps and new vehicles too. I'm sort of miffed you can't CHOOSE which knife to use. I know it makes no difference but I didn't know you got a new knife with premium and I prefer the original military issue one. The new one looks like some sort of stupid bright orange Stanley knife. Tariq
Ended up buying it for PC. New maps are pretty good. Better than what i thought it would be. New game mode is alright too. Guns may not be accurate to the RS ones, but they're pretty fun.

l96Freeman
Hell yeah... You shoot the people shouting RELOAD and TANGO DOWN. But still, Is it worth me buying premium? Because I did pay for B2K so im not saving much money
Supporters TPI Posted June 13, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 13, 2012 exactly we should get it half price atleast! still not buying any battlefield after THIS SHAMBLEs And I PLAYED THE ALPHA AND THE BETA!!! Lol
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted June 14, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 14, 2012 It does make financial sense to get it, I think it costs about £40 right? Well all the expansions are going to be £15 each, so if you're planning on getting them all then by getting Premium you'll be saving about £20. The B2K DLC isn't included in the cost of Premium, since practically everyone got it for free anyway, I don't know anyone who didn't get the special edition version of the game. Plus you do get other features for the price, the best one being given priority in server queues.
Supporters Finius Posted June 14, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 14, 2012 I don't know anyone who didn't get the special edition version of the game. I didn't
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted June 14, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 14, 2012 Well you still get B2K with Premium, it just means you'll only be saving £5 on all future DLC, as opposed to the £20 of everyone else. A saving is a saving. Plus there are other extras like more assignments, a knife exclusive to premium users (which I personally hate, but meh), priority in queues as mentioned before and you also get access to all the expansions 2 weeks ahead of everyone else. Supporters TPI Posted June 14, 2012 Supporters Share Posted June 14, 2012 isn't everyone else playing it premium? kind of negates the specialty of it no?
Jacob Wright
I got it because I planned on buying all of the upcoming DLC anyway. It wasn't cheap and I can see where people are coming from but it makes financial sense. Hopefully at some point they'll bring out Par For The Course from BFBC as that was a true map! Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted August 4, 2012 Supporters Share Posted August 4, 2012 Agreed! Crossing Over, Harvest Day and Arica Harbour all need a BF3 outing too. They were all awesome maps. I also wish that more people would play the B2K maps, I think Strike at Karkand is the best map in the game, but I've not been on it for months because no one seems to have any of the B2K maps in any of their rotations. It's fucking lame.
Tariq
I only ever play B2k Hate the new maps XD
Supporters Liam Porter Posted August 4, 2012 Supporters Share Posted August 4, 2012 Ed, add Oasis to that list and I'm sorted! Would also like to see a snow map, like Nelson Bay in BF:BC2, but one where the snow doesn't have so much glare that makes snipers completely useless.
