The fact that this thread has remained silent for so long. The media. Thanks for all the replies guys! Some great info and really interesting photos! I am undecided on the MK6 helmet as I have had one before (years ago) and just the weight of them alone puts me off. I'm a skinny little unfit kinda guy, lol! I can see how they are great for real steal but seems a bit much for me for just Airsoft and I am guessing it's hard to tell if you take a hit on it at some points due to it being kevlar. Surprised there isn't a lightweight replica like they do with the US helmets for Airsoft. I dunno, maybe I had a stupidly heavy MK6 or something as a lot of the lads I played with back then laughed at the idea of wearing it all day long due to its weight. I'd prefer a helmet over a bonnie hat though. I'm going for woodland DPM rather than desert. Trying to keep my load out minimal to a certain degree cos like I say (not meaning to sound 'soft' or anything, lol) I just like to keep my load out as lightweight as possible, so if its not being used for something I don't carry it. Just means I can move quicker and easier when needed.

Applies to RIF's as well. From our sticky thread: Can my parent buy me an airsoft gun? They can buy an IF but not a RiF unless they are a member of an insured game site, although if you are under 18 you can be given or win a RIF or IF. However this is a bit of a loophole in my opinion and I'd agree with Nutster, I don't think a 13 year old can carry the responsibility of having one due to their maturity - especially anything skirmishable as they have a lot more power behind them.

In all seriousness should have probably included these for those planning on doing anything to the electrics: - Solder - Soldering iron - Heat shrink (seals the joints i.e. prevents short circuits)

A similar idea is being worked on where we would have supporters, and it would be a £10 sub for the year (discounted if you buy more years) or you can buy less time too. Trouble is I'm trying to get as many benefits for you guys as possible so requires emailing a lot of retailers etc. Maybe I'm wrong though, does something like increased PM space, a special title such as 'Supporter', ability to bump posts in the classifieds sooner and maybe a hidden forum for supporters appeal at that price? Obviously half the idea is you are helping the forum out too. The more people who signed up would also mean we could do things like giveaways (might start small with just BB's etc and then get onto guns) We have had the ability to donate since the forum was opened near enough but we as yet haven't received anything, tight bunch you are

sounds like a good idea, it would definatly get more people on the forum. it wouldnt cost the forum anything either, im sure there are companys on the internet which do this sort of thing.

Personally it's a bit over the top! But let's not even compare these guys to sas! The sas selection is the hardest selection in the British army I did p company when I was in and that was an absolute ruiner. I could hit a mile and a half in sub 8mins and tab just as well! I wouldn't even think about selection it's a whole different ball game! You go through seriouse physical and mental hits that 90% of the armys toughest and fittest fail. If these guys are ex military then what they are providing is no different to a military weekend that some people go on and not anything that matches sas selection
