  1. If you want to get into 1/35th scale modelling then there worth it as the extra detail really helps but for 1/72nd scale, unless you go for metal miniatures there is little difference between the quality of manufactures. The exception being Ceaser Miniatures plastics.
  2. Decals or transfer are what they are normally called. In my case its normally you f*****!
  3. Thankyou! I hate decals with a passion I would rather freehand paint markings instead of faffing about with them.
  4. That was just a garden bench with a green grass effect cloth on it. Each one of the guys in that picture are 6mm tall form feet to eyes.
  5. That's some nice work guys the ship looks like it will be an interesting model once done. Here's some of mine: Erik the unimpressed Viking Norman dude: Tiny dudes: Some more pics in the gallery here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/core/gallery-user.jsp?u=46025
  6. http://www.ucapsandpit.co.uk/ Well worth a visit!
  7. Cycling - Mostly mountain and a tiny bit of road. I used to race when I was younger but once I reached the point where I would need to seriously train for it to get anywhere I decided it was a hobby and not a career (that backfired as I know work in Halfords in bikehut ). Also like modelling in general - especially painting the models although one day I will build a model railway when I have my own place; and PC gaming and messing about with my PC. I guess reading counts as a hobby as well Oh and eating!!
  8. The open bolt versions lock the bolt carrier to the rear when the magazine runs empty? Its certainly the case with my L85 which you also need to charge as well to load the first BB.
  9. Trying to fit a SUSAT to a WE L85 I picked up second hand that came with it. I believe it is a star/ares version, problem being the rail is just a bit to narrow on the rifle meaning it wobbles a bit :/ What is the best way of packing in the gap? I tried a slither of inner-tube but I only had a thick downhill one. I will probably try a thinner one once I'm back at work and have access to some but I was wondering if there are any other fixes which are less of a bodge and more permanent? Cheers Ben
  10. WE L85A2 (with 4 mags and a Susat) TM AUG A1 (one of the early ones - its not that far being as old as me :/ ) 10 Midcaps and 2 Lipos to go with it. 1 Set of DPM webbing-the variety used mostly in NI. Now I need to get some more stuff to get my L85 game legal
  11. All going well I should getting a GBBR L85 tomorrow. Having watched a fair few videos showing people fixing faults with them over time I feel I would actually stand a chance of solving issues with one. I still have not got a clue how an AEG works despite trying to work it out. Plus the recoil looks proper
  12. http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/hk-sa80-l85-sling-od These are the ones used with the L85s, they are 3 point slings and take a lot of the weight of the rifle even when your shouldering the rifle. Despite the term 3 point you only need a sling loop at the front and the rear of the rifle as well. When set up properly you can adjust the sling on the fly to suit your size as well.
  13. Just a warning about UCAP though, they do not allow any two tone weapons-you would need to rent from them until you get your membership i.e defence to by an Airsoft weapon. However they seem to let that rule slide though if it is a pink rifle... Only site I have played at though and is definitely great fun
  14. Are there any rumours of a Bullpup rifle?
  15. Yh there sit takes a bit of getting used to: http://www.ucapsandpit.co.uk/ £50 for a rental which needs to be booked in advance and then £30 once you have your own gear for a walk on. The price also includes lunch. They quite often have military vehicles roaming around the site which are used in the games. Last time I was there they drove me entire team up to our start point in a lorry
  16. I would highly recommend the sandpit - I am currently working through my 3 games of my UKARA there and the staff have been nothing short of amazing. I've also yet to play a game with less then a 100 people in it... I've heard some funny things about the Fawkham from a friend who went there, apparently FPS limits are not high on the agenda.
