  1. Hard to say as I work on it every now and again. I think though if you had all the bits to hand you could get this in a day
  2. I hope so lol. as adults all things are toys I fact my L85 in the armoury at TAC is also my toy hehe. After the life I've led I try not to take things so seriously Thanks for the comments on the rifle though man and yep I'll post pics up once the wood is on
  3. Does anyone know how to remove the rear sling mount on these? I might need to do so when the wooden one arrives
  4. Yes I have defence, just the two tone was a lot cheaper than buying a black or wood version
  5. it will go nicely with the ghillie I'm making
  6. Well I finally got my A&K SVD and a bargain second hand price hehe Wooden kit now being ordered and also a PSO scope I love this thing. It fires at just under 400fps but I may upgrade the spring as it is fitted with the lighter one.
  7. tried e-hobby and they are out of stock. would these fit and which looks more authentic in your opinions. I'm kind of liking the look of the cherry wood version http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/aandk-real-wooden-handguard-and-stock-kit-for-svd-sniper.html#.U9IkHNKkrtw http://www.evike.com/products/35948/ I've also just found these, any good? http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152194551-Set-of-wooden-parts-for-the-SVD-Dragunov.html
  8. Hi all, does anyone know where I can buy a wooden kit for an A&K (ASG) SVD in the UK? cheers
  9. yep all of the above and a little bit of kitchen aluminium foil. I got caught out once with a fuse blowing, the tin foil will temporarily get you out of a fix Bare in mind though the reason your fuse blow in the first place
  10. What pouch are you using for your comms? really good effort btw
  11. Age doesn't really come into it, in my opinion (within realistic limits of course). What does does come into it is attitude and respect. To be honest I've seen more adults mouthing off and acting dumb than I have the younger players haha
  12. All sorted Its not as bad I had thought. The problem it turns out (he says rather sheepishly) was the outer end barrel assembly. It had obviously got knocked at the last game and moved slightly (but not noticeable to the naked eye). The bb's were then hitting this as they existed the inner barrel. So I reattached it and the rifle now shoots perfectly, even better than before (not surprising considering the overhaul its just had lol)
  13. Single shot and full auto and yes I believe that multiple bb's are being fed at the same time. What is the tappet plate?
  14. The only thing I can think of is that my hop up unit is misaligned or something. I've also had problems fitting the wires from the gear box, past the magazine housing and hop up, and then through into the hand grip. Does anyone have a photo looking up into the magazine housing of their M4. I would just like to see how other peoples wires are routed. cheers
  15. I'll try to capture it firing for you all to see. It fires all over the place, no set pattern, left, right up and down. Sometimes so skewed i don't even see where its gone I am completely baffled because an an engineer I can't see why it isn't working
  16. I don't think so. These are the same ones that I have been using at my site and they were fine all day until the end of the day when my gun started playing up. they are 0.25g
  17. Well i just fired a few rounds into a catchment box and they are not coming out as shattered, so I guess thats something to be thankful for. I've checked the air nozzle also for any obvious damage or obstruction and it looks clear and ok
  18. What is the air nozzle? Is this the tube that sticks out of the gearbox? I will try to fire into something where I can collect the bb's and see what condition they are in
  19. checked and doubled checked. even cleaned it with soapy water and dried the bucking before putting it back I am at a complete loss. I am not getting a single bb to fire straight or even close to straight
  20. Double checked the barrel and flash hider and everything is in mint condition. It might be me but it seems as though bb's might even be coming out broken (I might just be being paranoid now though)
  21. The barrel is clean and dry, absolutely no obstructions at all. The rifle behaves the same whether the hop up is turned up or down. I have double checked the hop up is working and centralised again but still no difference to performance
  22. So my GR16 was firing ok but started to fire bb's all over the shop at the end of my last game. I have now taken apart the hop up unit and made sure it is all ok (it all seems to work as it should manually turning the gears). I have cleaned the nub and the bucking (all looks fine). The hop up looks centrally placed once the weapon is back together. But when I fire it it seems as though bb's are going in all directions and I really mean all directions (almost as though they are sometimes leaving the barrel at 90 degrees), it also seems as though it is misfiring as well, ie bb's are not always coming out i think) I am at a loss what to do any advice?
  23. I used Lowa's during duty but for airsoft I use Converse desert boots. So comfy, like a pair of old slippers haha
  24. Hey its ok for a starting position, I'd defo swap for a ubacs though or when it starts to get a bit chilly go for a smock. As for the Molle carrier, yer just flesh it out a bit and try using a cut up roll mat for padding. work wonders and keeps its shape. Whilst there are standardised positions for all your kit it is common practice to swap around to your personal preference, within practical limits obviously (after all if your in theatre you use whats best for you). Here is a pic of my co-driver in Basra. I know its not Afghan but I've only got pics from Iraq as I've never been to Afghan. Oh and the left handed firing, big no no. Even if your left handed you still fire the L85 from the right shoulder unless you want your eye taken out by the cocking handle. I know its not relevant for airsoft but just for the look and don't got forget to cock your weapon with your left hand
