  1. First pull. Lightweight and reasonably strong
  2. first layer of glass in place. OMG in this heat the resin is going off in minutes I'll just let this go off and then apply the second layer
  3. all ready for glassing today Its not going to look pretty but the shape is there and once I have a cover on it no one will be able to tell the difference (except me because it will be about a quarter of the weight
  4. Why not use an M4. I know that several of the guys in theatre use these, especially agency bods
  5. wow Sandhurst. Good luck buddy. I take my hat off to you for that one, I only ever got to Corporal. Let us all know how you get on, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you
  6. Hi buddy, Just feel the need to say, because I've got very close Syrian friends in Latakia, that whilst airsoft is fun these crisis points aren't. I know this reply might seem like a downer but I had to say it. I hope you understand. But further in response to you post, the media coverage of these areas does give an excellent perspective to what equipment is out there at the moment
  7. Well as you said, the choice is yours haha Why not try to copy a standard military loadout. You can pick up british DPM, desert or MTP kit fairly cheap, or even US kit. All you really need is the trousers and a smock. I personally have never worn a shirt if i can avoid it, even on operations. Just go for a t-shirt and smock on top (or a UBACS). As for boots, just pick up a study pair that give support and are light weight (black leather will go with most loadouts and not look out of place) Head gear is really up to you. Helmets look cool and allow for attachments but if you source a proper one they can be heavy if you're not use to them. Alternatively go for a bush hat, light weight and again will look good with most loadouts. Webbing really is taste dependant. I have several different sets. As a minimum, in my opinion, you will need ammo pouches and a utility pouch (so may be a leg set up with drop pouches) good luck
  8. Initial casting underway. I'm only using 'softcast' surgical casting as I'm not too concerned about capturing detail. All I need is the shape as it will be covered with a mtp cover and scrim. I have got a spare set of straps from an old Mk6 also woo hoo, hopfully cast it in fibreglass this weekend
  9. Really!!! I've never used it but will defo give it a go
  10. haha but in plate armour you would be a walking tank and as for the sword, designed to lob arms and legs off Liking the idea about having my town to myself though hahahaha
  11. I looked at the barrel of my L85 and to be honest it was fairly clean and scratch free. It was just the flash eliminator that was worn from cleaning carbon off
  12. I have weathered the flash eliminator. I looked at my L85A2 and tried to reproduce the weather onto my airsoft M4. The L85A2 is genuine weathering from cleaning and so I hope the M4 looks genuine too. Opinions
  13. My baby She might not be much but she's mine and I adore her haha
  14. At Skirmish I plan to stick with what I've known all my adult life and stay with a standard British army loadout. The only thing that I really don't want to lug about is my helmet. With this in mind I plan this weekend to take a mold of it and produce a fibreglass copy of the thing. It probably won't look pretty but once I've transferred the straps and cover I'm hoping the shape will look ok. A little bit of padding front and back and jobs a good 'un I'll let you all know how it goes watch this space
  15. I just don't fancy having an emblem on the side, I'd rather go for a blank receiver. Once again thanks guys, you are all very patient with my questions
  16. Or this http://www.crw-airsoft.com/m4-metal-body-colt-1527-p.asp
  17. How about a Dboys body? (see link) I've heard as long as I replace both upper and lower receiver it should be fine. Sorry to keep asking but I am really in the dark about this stuff at the moment. http://www.ebairsoft.com/dboys-metal-body-marking-p-6844.html
  18. I'm glad it isn't just me. This is the only niggle that sets my OCD off haha
  19. With all the knowledge out there, does anyone know if this pruduct will be transferable into GR16 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CYMA-Tactical-M4-AEG-Metal-Body-Ver-2-for-Marui-Standard-/121346618128?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_Paintballing&hash=item1c40d27310
  20. Hi guys, A quick question. I have slowly been rebuilding my GR16 and htere is a niggling issue that I can't get right. When I put together my upper and lower receiver, the wires from the gearbox going into the front hand guards seem to be in the way of my hopup. At the moment i have to squeeze them down the side between the body and gearbox to get them to go above the hopup. Ideally i want them to just go either side of the hopup and neatly tuck away any ideas?
  21. Hi guys, I have been searching the net over the last few days and completely wandered around in circles. I am looking to replace the plastic body on my G&G GR16 blow-back with a metal upper and lower receiver. I could approach G&G directly but I want to source as many options as possible. Does anyone know of a full metal body that would suit my needs? cheers jon
