  1. ebay:

component shop sell on there as well as cloud nine amongst others....

A popular make of lipo's is ZIPPY COMPACT - yellow batteries and are a tiny bit smaller

than same spec Turnigy ones - handy if space is limited/tight

if you have one or consider buying a digital vernier/caliper gauge - quick & accurate way

to measure batt/compartment/stock etc.... - no full blown metal - get a cheapo £4 one - fleabay

then you can make a more accurate decision on what model/type battery to get

main thing is charger - you can buy a cheap charger but will take much longer to charge

ffs - don't get a cheap $5 one from hong kong - some are friggin dangerous

a cheap charger can be about £10-£15 but get it from UK is my advice - if you gonna get into it

then consider a better charger at around £30+ perhaps

you can get a battery/charger for about £25 at a push or maybe 2 x batteries & cheapo charger for £40-£45

    (aprox £15 each)

BUT FFS - DO NOT PUT IT CHARGING ON YOUR BED OR CARPET AND GO OUT !!!!!!!!!

LiPo's can be dangerous if they have "blown" but even so there is a slight risk so put them in a bag maybe

but bag or not - on a safe worktop and above all else........

KEEP AN EYE ON IT CHECKING THEM REGULARLY - seriously I may mess about but this is serious $hit

so don't just leave them for a hour or two - feel them if they get too warm/hot

just common sense really but there is a possible risk - not horror stories just being honest as I can

  2. depends on ya kit and if you are really gonna get into it

both need their own type of chargers or you could buy a good all in one charger that does both

(not such a good idea in my house as we often charge more than 1 battery night before or morning of skirmish)

normal battery - smart charger will be £10 to £15 say - these don't cook battery but supposed to stop charging

    when they are complete, volts 7.2v 8.4v 9.6v 10.8v 12v - cells are 1.2v ya see

lipo or newer life batteries use different charger and either come in:

Lipo 7.4v or 11.1v - cell is 3.7v so there is very little mid range wise

Life 9.9v - cells are 3.3v - sort of high mid range option for lipo users that

don't want to hammer guns with 11.1v+

I say + coz most batteries pump out a bit over at first when just come off charge

an 11.1v was pumping 12.5v for a little while - wonder why gun was firing like nuts and a bit hot motor

  3. yeah thought at first with title it was lipo charge bag too

don't use them but I always keep a very very regular close eye on them charging on a workshop table

a few years off a colostomy bag hopefully....

dunno about a great big battery though, might be wise to consider 2 x decent 2200mah lipo's

can your gun or rather you happy to pump 11.1v through her all time

could get a 9.9v LiFe battery - or say:

    1 x 11.1v 2200mah

    1 x 9.9v Life battery

one battery may last a full day but that is what you have half time or lunch for

plus all eggs in one basket - bit heavy and if it goes tit$ up you lost ya only battery

no other backup so to speak

yes 2 batteries may cost a little more than 1 great big mother battery

ergh but you got bag cost to add to big mother battery too

or say sod it, loads of gaffa/duct tape and nick ya car battery just going nuts full on mental

keep a spare motor handy if doing this daft idea of mine - no don't do this last bit

  4. jeez that must be worth a few bob to a nintendo or turtle collector

usa or jap coz uk don't get many good limited editions over here

often old cartridge consoles had different ends on carts so you either bought adapter

to run usa megadrive/genesis carts on UK consoles or took front of cartridge off

Ahh the good old days, plus good old consoles that don't need great big fans running

like crazy trying to prevent RROD or YLOD or BSOD like today's consoles

  5. not sure if I quite agree with the yanks definition of a pistol ^^

    posted that in the ed-thread?

lol - me & son/duckling (SD junior), actually fired a mother Desert Eagle for real on a range in Florida earlier this year

tested this bad a$$ along with some others - but fvck me nothing prepares you for that .5 cal cannon in ya hands going off !!!

and they call that a pistol ffs - yeah ok, not what I'd call it

  6. Well I was thinking of getting an electric pistol but concerned about fps of Cyma's

So I sorted of created my very own secondary machine pistol so to speak but with high cap mag:

    post-9344-0-88579800-1407606047_thumb.jpg

bought the testicle mag - a tiny bit of work but nothing major - runs well - F*ck yeah !!!!

needs new batteries to keep up but as a pistol - well it does weigh a little bit - lol

gotta refit stubby stock back on her but was just messing around - next door must love me

soz for small pic - can't be ar$ed to upload it to here n there n link n stuff just for my silly stuff

I am having trouble finding a holster for this pistol though ???

  7. Raider long barrel - all I can find atm in stock online is LWA and TAN ONLY - black out of stock

    http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/electric-rifles-c45/combat-machine-cm16-raider-l-dst-p1482

Raider short barrel - UK Airsoft but never used these guys before

    http://uk-airsoft.myshopify.com/collections/g-g-combat-machine/products/g-g-combat-machine-cm16-raider

only seem to have short barrel like I said

    http://uk-airsoft.myshopify.com/products/g-g-combat-machine-cm16-raider

numerous places look to have them but when you click they on back order, presume summer holidays & NAE is to blame

airsoftworld.net might have them but £140

surplusstore want £150 or more i think ffs

  8. Raider's are better but out of stock in most places.....

looking at £125 aprox for Raider short/long barrel - but has rails

the carbine - no rails £100 and would prefer clear over 2tone anyday

bit dodgy but clear "can" be painted better coz you give it coating inside

as well as outside to ensure paint don't come off or chip easily

but suppose you "could" gently remove the 2tone paint at later stage if UKARA

Zero One seem to have pulled a lot of stock for the NAE they might have raider

but many places are out - or if lucky to find one they wan't a bit more for it

or extra for 2 tone etc......

but the £99:99 carbine in clear is worth considering - heck I would get 1 or 2

if I didn't have so many guns already - would keep it as a spare/backup in my bag

or get it for 3 months to obtain UKARA - over 18's, then perhaps spray/replace a

few bits - or sell it or still keep as spare if a m8 comes along etc.......

wish I bought 1 or 2 of these instead of crappy bulldog/dragon - live n learn I guess

  9. stumped.......

spring looks in position - so it ain't that come out of alignment

can' think wtf could be doing this - it should just be a pin so it

shouldn't be catching - and it just a round bar pin.....

maybe ask somebody like samurai who knows a thing or two about gearbox ???

  10. http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=carbine&PN=cm16_carbine_transparent.html#SID=239

battery + charger - smart charger which prevents overcharging/cooking battery - both together £25

    (probably nunchuck 8.4v battery)

you get 1k bb's i think - 450 mag, it ain't glow in dark orange

(could paint it but that is changing a Imitation Firearm IF - RIF Realistic one in eyes of law)

save rest of money and see how you go - no real need for pistol - may wanna spend on extra mag

or loadout kit - full face protection must be worn for under 18's at most sites

don't chance it - get a good one for your precious eyes

shame that gun had a great starter kit for £20 more - about £35 value but lately always out of stock

there is NO OTHER GUN to match it for price - ok no rails but trust me you won't need much else

if you can't hit something with that then you may as well just use a nerf gun

forget ultra zoom scope, torche, or laser - get out there and start shooting

  11. Well I got a ticket for zero woodland I think but kinda fell on its ar$e like I said

so went to epsom bunker instead as wasn't gonna drive like nearly 2hrs if nobody was going to zero

my usual TWA is on Saturday so may pop along for half day - £10

not sure if I'm going back to bunker just yet but free ticket from zero one gun I bought is valid for 6 months

(cost me more if fuel ffs but I will go)

other people were either working or couldn't get there - so kinda gave up the following Sunday to Sandpitt Dartford

and now we have 10th August upon us

  12. some cqb sites actually have a 328fps or 330fps limit - 100m/sec

coz cqb is just that less than 20ft engagement usually

and any decent site SHOULD chrono guns.....

no point having a powerful gun you can't use, and fps is just a basic starting guide

your site might be 350 but if you visit another indoor cqb it maybe a tad too hot

some decent 300fps can pi$$ all over badly setup 350fps

Tokyo Marui is a prime example

  13. Was it a tan G&G and you sprayed it black using something like fishnet stockings ???

I just tore my favourite pair.....

WWWWOOPPPPSSSSS - wrong forum, thought I was on another site - lol

just kidding, ignore me - most people do or just plain cross the street to avoid me

Jeez - she didn't half give you a funny look

who - that bird that just walked past ???

    No - Mother Nature

  14. the gun you are using will sort of dictate what battery you require

if you have a crane stock - the MOST LIKELY the battery will be in there

(not always the case - some guns with crane can still have battery at front handguard)

if you have crane - AND BATTERY IS IN THERE then nunchuck is what you require

nunchuk types can be used in many guns - even front handguard ones usually

unless you buy something like MP5 or FireHawk that may require a stick battery

Raider will have crane and battery at back I think - stock is low on many sites coz they got rails

Carbine - no rails and battery up at front - in stock at many places and a tiny bit cheaper

battery on carbine is at front hanguard - well in general unless spec has changed

    nunchuk you looking at is a 3 + 1 + 3 - the one in centre - hmmmm

maybe a 4 + 3 layout will be better I would tend to think & should fit up front/back whatever

or 4+4 = 9.6v but this is getting a bit on the powerful side and if you really have room

component shop or ebay - or component shop on ebay - should get a battery + smart charger

for £15 + £10 = £25 - smart charger would stop your normal nimh cooking with cheapo charger

(smart chargers should stop charging when complete - but always keep an eye when charging batteries)

Lipo is another option but different charger or a more deluxe one that does all types - but as always you

need to check if batteries YOU buy will fit/work with YOUR gun.....

I mean if you are that pushed and got a battery that don't fit/too big you can get by by taping it on side of

stock/receiver, many do this to get them out the crap when needed

guessing is not good idea - measure if unsure, digital vernier/caliper guage for about £4 is a real help when

buying extra batteries that may/may not fit.....

blimey - mega waffle about batteries and you ain't even bought gun yet - soz for going on

  15. remove hop up too ???

(some of them can restrict the gearbox coming out - so remove lower hop-up if a 2piece one is used)

    any pics ???

also what lead up to this - did she just seize up or you just clean/upgrade/replace bits ?

just trying to suss if something broke n jammed or bearing just fell to bits etc......

  16. first computer ZX81 1kb base mem but did upgrade to wobbly 16kb ram pack

eventually got ZX80 whilst awaiting speccy delivery - jeez what a long wait

years later got microdrives & QL etc.....

Sadly flogged all my stuff when fell on harder times :(

first video game - before Atari VCS 2600 there was numerous Video games

way way overpriced to play tennis & basic shooting the big square dot on screen

some systems you could buy/build from places like Maplin before they hit the high street

The say the first so called arcade video game was by atari - breakout

and it was said they had to repair it in less than 24hrs of installing it

the coin box mechanism broke as it just couldn't handle the amount of cash

rest is history and I'm way too old for this $hit

  17. battery options are limited due to thin stick battery type in stock tube

plus can be a bit fiddly to get battery in the 8itch

hence I shoved a stubby fixed one instead:

    http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/3820-gun-picture-thread/page-125#entry154672

now I can just use any battery I can find lipo/life/nimh etc......

lipo's are great but options are limited voltage wise - 7.4v or 11.1v - or 9.9v life battery

I still sometimes use some decent 8.6v or 9.6v batteries.

like I said your main problem is limited battery space/options out of box, but I plan to either fit

the FH stock to another M4 front handguard battery gun or sell it complete with tube

love my stubby - lost some sex appeal - well I lost that years ago, but at least the FH can run

with almost any battery now - so it is a possible consideration I think - stubby is fixed but same

size as G&G VS02 stock that was on there

  18. I'm sorry if I get flamed or warned about this - but we gotta maybe review the buy/sell section guidelines

otherwise this place could become the new ebay for airsoft - yeah I know they can't sell on ebay

OK - bash me now, infraction or whatever - no not $hitstirring but think we need to review this perhaps

  19. well it ain't no dmr and is really for cqb but suppose also it has an advantage

in that it could be easier to shortcut through bushes easier than a big m16

    getting caught up perhaps

looks sexy but friggin loud with flash hider but then it is not designed for long range

I've remove the stock and put on a fixed cheapo stubby so can take any battery

hate all that pi$$balling about with thin lipo stick

range wise not much less accurate than a normal stock m4 in same price range

bought it coz I liked the sexy black 8itch - didn't buy it to snipe with I bought it to

take her out and help take others out so to speak.....

despite being small and a fair bit of plastic not full metal she weighs a bit but I feel

just right to run with all day in the sun.....

I got an ICS clear sportsline and they kind of perform the same - maybe ICS a bit

more longer range accurate but c'mon the fire hawk just looks so sexy & bad ass

  20. I quote the rules (for those banging on about post-count restrictions still):

If people still want to discuss post-counts again, can you please do so in the appropriate section of the forums.

and last bit you quoted from rules:

    Help

    - If you find any of the above rules unclear or would like to ask us a question please PM an admin/moderator. We would much rather you contacted us than just went ahead and did something.

apologies in advance but I did in fact pm a mod on 24th July but was unread I just checked

    Sent 24 July 2014 - 07:02 AM
but it seems it is unread - soz but don't wanna row about it but I kind of did follow procedure
if I had been corrected back then then I probably would of shut my mouth and not stirred up
    any debate again
fair enough it is down to the buyer then, I know that now soz for not reading all the guidlines
properly - my fault alone but am a bloke and males don't always fully read/follow instructions
but my fault - sorry like I said for stirring this up again
    S D
  21. I would of thought pistol grip/motor area is main area for concern

many are sealed - some are vented/heatsink at bottom but that is a nice possible collection

point for water with a lovely bit of motor/electrics thrown in for good measure too......

you can tape up and/or apply some grease to terminals to prevent corrosion if you are that worried

but the most important thing to apply is common sense really.......

Most of it may be woodland - I don't know but not complete open fields perhaps, so you are not out

in wide open - also doubt if it really pi$$es down for too long will skirmish continue in a mud bath or

cetainly not wise to continue whilst a humid summer thunderstorm is kicking off.

presume you are in Ireland or N Scotland:

Weather Warning - Issued by the Met Office - Sunday 3rd August 2014

    YELLOW WARNING of RAIN

An area of persistent and at times heavy rain will continue to move north across parts of northern England, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland.
Winds will become strong, with a risk of gales over coasts and hills.
The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding and of disruption to transport.

Jeez strong winds or gales - that means ya BB's are gonna be way off target at times

pi$$ing down at times - yeah sounds fun

flooding/transport disruption - yeah nice journey home too

check it out in morning - look for cqb or man up and say wtf a little water never hurt anybody

    best of luck

  22.

Then what about people who have quit airsoft and want to clear out all their gear? I've been a member for about 7 months and don't quite have 100 posts, all it would do is kill the for sale section.

congrats - you just hit 100 posts with that - lol

ok but then you been here 7 months which is over 3 months suggestion so to speak

also as numerous other forums have "some" guidelines - then why not also have some too ?

Or it could perhaps be a possible attraction for the "try it on-ers"

I'm not 8itching or pulling hairs but it is just a simple suggestion that "may" reduce the risks slightly

yes you may get the odd genuine person quitting airsoft but then they should perhaps be fully

informed about meeting criteria and be prepared to provide ref or proof from the outset

well done MateyGuv at least this guy shows he has some integrity and willing to provide assurance

Just my thoughts but if left a little unchecked then it "could" allow/attract the not so genuine people

Not having a go at mods or this site but a few said other sites have some guidelines so why not here too ?
