  1. i saw it, i thought about it, i bought it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORGASM-DONOR-Desert-Tan-Embroidered-Patch-Airsoft-Biker-Military-VELCRO-/201068319960?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ed09b14d8
  2. remembrance day is coming up so it really really had to be done
  3. let me know how you get on with it. its an ICS L85 that i am looking for. there are other brands around but too many people have said go with the ICS one
  4. patches! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151338083374?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&var=450489765045&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT 10% going to a worthy charity http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161412921389?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  5. thanks Nick. I haven't had a look for anything yet but I started buying kit last year for work. A sleeping bag so as it was heading towards winter I bought an army sleeping bag. The old mummy style which is big but bloody warm. Then a long back Bergen to carry all my crap. Airsoft came into my life so I went with the familiar CS95 (name tag and R Sigs badge sewn on straight away) because I couldn't find the older DPM on ebay. Then PLCE webbing which I haven't used yet due to the G3 mags being too big. Now I have got MTP because the lighter camo is better suited to the terrain I skirmish in. I even use twisties lol. I definitely have a British Army theme going on apart from the half mask which I don't always wear. Even my eyepro is Army issue thanks to a serving mate who posted them to me as a surprise
  6. are they normal colours or camo Nick? I would like Velcro patches but I want them to blend in rather than stick out against my shirt. I bought one from the site on sunday but they only had the old ones with a red border and that needed sewing to the Velcro that came attached to it. The Velcro was the stick on to anything stuff rather than made as part of the patch I did buy an olive green Royal Corps of Signals t shirt last night. The ex army lads seem to maintain that connection with any badges and TRFs that we wore in service
  7. these are brilliant. i never have to adjust them on a game day and if you have different styles of loadout then wear them under your trousers. soft so very comfortable but they do the job http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Web-Tex-Camo-Knee-Pads-Hunting-Shooting-Army-Military-/400153793966?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_Sports_Clothing_LE&hash=item5d2b0655ae as for old skool kit, i could not find pre-CS95 at all when i first started looking for combats. knowing how think CS95 is and assuming that the MTP stuff is similiar, i wanted the old stuff for the thicker material but it just isnt easy to find. solution=multiple layers or waterproofs (which i havent bought yet) if you want to crawl around. of course it depends on each individual and how much getting cold and wet bothers them. it it really bothers you then go with waterproofs but get opinions first. goretex is quieter than its predecessor but it still makes a noise. there are quieter waterproofs around but i dont know what they are. we have a guy who always wears waterproofs and they are no noiser than conventional clothing but i have no idea what it is.
  8. i like having a pistol. the CO2 is my preferred choice even though its the most expensive to use and holds the least ammo out of the 3. it is my highest fps and ranging weapon though and on sunday i went on a woodland game with 2 pistols for the sheer hell of it and i killed the guy who got my mate with his AEG. do not underestimate pistols because there are some good ones out there with good performance straight out of the box. its even better with 0.25s which i also tried for the first time on sunday which improved range and accuracy there is also the fact that IF you fancy trying a game as sniper then you may need a pistol as a sidearm. the site i play at has this rule in place. no pistol = no sniping!
  9. http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/pistols-c42/asg-sti-lawman-co2-pistol-p339 that was a spontaneous purchase but it is a great pistol. everyone loves the kickback and noise from it plus its full metal so it should be durable. it chronod at 285 - 314 straight out the box which easily outranges my AEG and fires straight with 0.25s as i discovered on sunday. the standard mag will fire around 50 shots before a new capsule is required. the spare mag i bought with it struggles to fire half that many but that is under investigation it has no rails or thread for a suppressor though so bear that in mind. very accessible adjustable hop
  10. a problem has become evident with the spare mag the original mag will fire approximately 40 rounds before the capsule runs out. no big dramas, it simply stops firing bbs the spare mag fires between 19 and 25 rounds depending on the make of the capsule. swiss arms = 20 (tried twice) umarex = 25 and a brand i have never heard of fired 19. the problem is that the gun vents and freezes the capsule after these numbers but the standard mag does not do this. a tech suggested stripping both and swapping the working parts to see what happens. problem may be solved or i will at least find out whether its the magazine or working parts that are to blame the alternative is to buy the cheapest capsules i can buy and just live with it
  11. thats why i dont have waterproofs. the old crisp packet stuff was really bad. i cant remember if the goretex was good enough but it was better so far i have only got a smock for cold weather. i wear a MTP shirt now anyway rather than buying ubacs
  12. the only kill i got today was with my CO2 pistol. i left the AEG in the car for one game and i actually preferred it apart from the lack of ammo. i went out with that pistol and my desert eagle AEP which couldnt touch the range of the 1911 but neither does my AEG. using 0.25s made it even better and the accuracy was spot on with slightly heavier bbs i would suggest trying it and see how you get on. even if you hire an AEG for the day, you still have the option to leave the hire gun behind
  13. i originally bought revision goggles which are a full flush fit and give excellant view but i prefer the revision goggles currently on issue to the british army. i have a mate serving and he sent me them as a surprise. good seal and definately up to standard for this sport. they were subject to an involuntary test in the field ie i got hit and they easily stood up to a bb. they do fog up but some sort of anti fogging solution does the trick
  14. 3000 0.25s from the airsoft site http://www.airsoftworld.net/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/750x750/d65e2a98376c1ac7dc418dcbfe108d8e/b/a/bawbag4k-025g.jpg 6000 0.25s from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221458399108?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&var=520327071285&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT i tried 0.25s instead of 0.20s today and the difference made me switch to them Edit: i also bought a Players Of War velcro patch after seeing someone with one
  15. Roll mat for the milsim in a few weeks. Possibly a poncho too depending on whether we need tents or not
  16. i thought about various ways but plan A is a bit of para cord tied to the leg strap on both sides going over the holster. that way it wont be too tight on my leg and is effectively pulling both sides of the holster to the strap rather than to my leg. i have seen different types of non fabric holsters and while the 1911s shouldnt be difficult to accommodate, i cant see me getting one to fit the desert eagle. fortunately the holster suppolied with it has lots of places to tie the para cord and the colour is almost identical whereas the 1911 holster i got from ebay is DPM
  17. i havent worn any other kind so i dont know the extent of the problem with regards to variety but does anyone else find it annoying when you are moving around and the holster flaps around with the weight of the pistol in it? it really put me off carrying a side arm last time but hopefully i have helped alleviate the problem this week with some para cord. it seemed to work in my living room and while it may not be pretty up close, the cord is almost the exact same colour as the holster so it shouldnt be too obvious but hopefully practical. sunday will be the test out in the field
  18. with higher limits i can almost see the point but for 400 i just dont think its worth the effort or money when i could have a decent AEG instead. or a full blown sniper if i fancied that role (will hire the sites sniper a few times before i decide) but a DMR just doesnt seem worth it for the site that i play at. especially since its woodland so not much open space to use the possible range advantage over an AEG
  19. my scope is 6 - 24 x 50 and is far too much for my AEG so it is really only useful for spotting. My rear iron sight had to be removed for the scope so I cant switch in game even with hand tightened screwing. Not that i can get a true shot in an outdoor site anyway. You can see that using the scope because it allows you to see precisely where your bbs are going
  20. I only use full auto for short bursts to suppress the enemy. Semi is very inaccurate but hopefully the upgrades will help. I noticed last time that it curved left then right then centre. That was semi and trying to hit someone who evidently was out of my range but within his
  21. IIRC site rules for fps are: sniper 500 fps (side arm is compulsory) DMR 400 fps all others 350 fps as I understand a DMR, it has to be locked to semi auto which rules it out as a support weapon what is the purpose of this designation? Sacrificing full auto for an extra 50 fps seems daft when you could go to 500 with a sniper rifle, especially if you have a full auto pistol ready to defend yourself
  22. what about online purchases which may or may not be retailers? Ebay, amazon etc. I am planning on buying CO2 capsules in bulk from ebay soon
  23. problem solved. it is spring loaded so i cant remove the cover but the bit that is it attached to is not fixed to the scope. it just slides off
  24. including my own rifle sling. I couldn't find a replacement for the G3 so a bit of gaffer tape to cover up the silver and a couple of zip ties to hold it in place. It gets trialled on sunday
