  1. my airsoft site is entirely based on WW2 although there are no restrictions on weapons or loadout for normal game days (apart from the fps limits) but milsims are strictly WW2 loadouts as far as i know. they will accept modern weapons but single shot only and i think they limit the amount of ammo taken for the day. i assume that with so many ex squaddies playing, the ammo limit is largely ignored with inventive ways of hiding extra somewhere. i know from experience that the SA80 will happily hide 6 cigarettes inside it
  2. SUSAT replica (apparently i get a 5% discount for being a member of POW) my capsules arrived. i bought 20 and received 30
  3. ICS L85A2 arrived today with 3 mags and no battery. the connector is not compatible with my G3 battery 20 x CO2 capsules (with belt) have been posted to me minor upgrades to my ASG pistol on sunday so a new spring and hop rubber are now making it more efficient thanks to the resident pistol competition shooter
  4. to be honest, I am wondering if I should buy a standard copy to play and pass on the pip boy edition to a more passionate follower of the series. For me it is a novelty item but it could be a valuable addition to a serious collector. It is not like I would actually use the phone holder anyway. Or wear the t shirt (I think I am getting that too)!
  5. authenticity! This is why I have been very picky about finding the right ICS L85 to match my loadout. It must remain externally authentic which could be L85A1 or A2 since I personally transported my squadrons weapons to Warminster for refurb/upgrade. No rails, ACOG, vertical foregrips etc because they were not in service when I served
  6. replicas are cheaper but real ones are rarer. Replica it is
  7. you might like to consider a used gun. Most airsofters are responsible adults and take very good care of their kit so you would be unlucky to buy a dud. Choose your ideal gun, ask about which brand to look for then check the classifieds (once you have a UKARA) for the one you want. I have bought 3 guns from people and not one repair has been necessary
  8. I didn't fancy a two-tone or throwing money into airsoft without testing it first. Solution: Rent from the site until I was able to buy a RIF. Rental guns are RIFs. There is your answer to USING a RIF without a UKARA
  9. a similar conversation came up at todays skirmish. It seems that they dont get vandalism as such but they do get regular visits from thieving gypo scum even though nothing of value is ever left on site
  10. ICS which seems to be a hard brand to find anything for
  11. £250 dropped to £200 after discovering this fault. I have taken a chance on it so I will receive it on Monday or Tuesday. Frenchie (tech guru) is aware of a job coming in
  12. I just say I am spending sunday shooting at people. The uninformed recipients always look shocked which opens the door to a detailed explanation
  13. I am struggling to source L85 midcaps (AEG) but I have been advised that M4 mags will fit. Can anyone confirm or dispute this?
  14. the one in my profile pic is the site patch and on the front I have a subdued union jack with a poppy in the middle. I have a subdued st Andrews cross on my right arm but I am considering sewing a TRF onto the original MTP patch instead, especially now that I have finally bought a stable belt to use in skirmishing
  15. the site I use takes safety very seriously but not security. There is a gate where the track meets the local road but not a high gate and the only things left on site are the materials for building. No equipment is left but they only run game days once a fortnight so I don't blame them for a light approach to security. There is a paintball site using the same access dirt track but they rarely seem to be there so they wont bother about security either. They do brief us on what to do if a rambler wanders in during a game but break ins have never been mentioned
  16. fallout 4 was pre-ordered as soon as it was available. Then they announced the pip boy edition which I upgraded to as soon as I could. I am taking a week off to literally play fallout 4 and fit some sleep in sometimes. I would say I am looking forward to november 10th
  17. full advert (minus the spares that i dont want) ICS L85A2 with upgraded internals - Madbull aluminium piston head and piston - Madbull shark hop-up rubber - Madbull tightbore 6.01mm inner barrel - Systema M100 spring Externally, it is completely stock with no additions. It will be shipped with - All original parts and manual - A Weaver-to-Picatinny adapter (which allows you to put your own sights on top) - 3x batteries, mini Tamiya connectors - 4x high capacity magazines (one ICS, three unbranded) and enough MOLLE pouches to hold 3 mags. - Swiss Arms gun bag with custom foam inserts designed to securely hold and protect the L85. he knocked £50 to offset repair costs
  18. I am considering an ICS L85A2 but a fault has been discovered by the current owner. It only fires upside down and since I have no plans on visiting Australia, this is a problem. Any ideas or experience of this?
  19. you dont have to actually use it though. I keep a pistol loaded with a CO2 capsule only but only as a deterrent or if needs be, a distraction. If they run, problem solved. If they hesitate, a swift kick in the sacks is probably sufficient
  20. wholesalers do not have to restrict themselves to trade membership. I shop at costco which is a wholesaler
  21. i had a chat with a well known airsoft tech about L85s yesterday. G&G are known for locking up and ICS is supposedly the better brand but he recommends real sword for authenticity due to their habit of over-engineering and making their guns almost ounce for ounce similiar to the real thing. he reckons most of their guns are virtually indestructable due to the materials used so i am now divided between buying ICS or real sword (although i havent priced real swords version yet)
  22. MTP goretex trousers (with full length zip on each leg) CS95 goretex trousers double gun bag (so i dont have to remove the scope after each game day) UBACS shirt (given to me)
  23. that one was for the novelty value and a laugh. the poppy one was a specific search item although it will probably be worn for most games. i am tempted to wear my combats to work on remembrance day as a mark of respect
  24. i originally bought desert magnums but with the terrain at POW i found them to be too soft underfoot so i bought a set of brown dunlop safety boots from a sports shop. havent looked back since
