  1. Any metal/wood AK47 Classic metal/wood Because it's just sexy, especially when the wood has been well oiled/maintained. I'm guessing this is based on looks?
  2. MAW in Melton Mowbray do a fair few game days at £15 walk on. Decent mix of woodland, urban and open ground game areas. There's also a fair few First & Only sites in the Kidderminster/Leicester area. I recommend The Towers and The Asylum - cracking sites even if the £35 game day fee is a bit steep.
  3. If it's just for back garden plinking then any co2 powered pistol is going to be about the same at that price, just don't be surprised if it breaks quickly. As mentioned before, avoid sites with "bb" in their title - usually have sub par customer service and products (but not always). Additionally if you order from overseas without a UKARA then your gun will be seized and more than likely destroyed. Even with a valid UKARA defence there's a risk of this happening.
  4. If you manage it then it'll look very pretty
  5. £10 membership gives you a membership number you can use to register for UKARA after the three skirmishes. £60 gives you the above plus £5 off skirmishes, access to members only days and a discount at their retail shop/website. £100 gives you the number, £10 off skirmishes, member only days and a bigger discount off the shop/website.
  6. There's a fair few sites near where you live mate, a fair few of them are First & Only sites who are a bit pricey (£35 walk on + £15 rental) but the sites are good: The Towers, Leicester - Very CQB, ran in an old hospital. The Asylum, Kidderminster - FIBUA, mix of buildings and open areas. Bunker Wood, Kidderminster The Outpost, Kidderminster The Jungle, Rugby Other sites in the local area: Modern Airsoft Warfare (MAW), Melton Mowbray - Mostly woodland, but some built up areas. Grange Manor Farm, Desford Stealth Tactical Airsoft, Lutterworth The ones I've commented on I've been to. Worth ringing them to see if they're UKARA registered, but as you can see there's a fair few around. Oh and welcome to the forum
  7. Always been tempted to get one of those rifles, let us know how you get on with it mate
  8. I have a kit in the car, but thankfully never needed to use it. Like cav said - sites need a minimum number of first aiders on site to meet insurance requirements. Most I've been to had two or three.
  9. Consistency with pricing is probably the main point I'd want, also actual timescales of when something will be done by rather than be fobbed off with the old "I've got a lot of other orders" excuse. Be nice to have a rough estimate rather than waiting for weeks on end with no change.
  10. Some jute, burlap, netting, various dyes in shades of green and brown, gorilla glue and a stapler. Going to try and make my own ghillie suit
  11. Multicam is popular for a reason though, works well in most environments including woodland. I'm personally having a lot of of success with Czech Vz. 95 (commonly known as M95) pattern camo. A lot darker than regular woodland camo patterns but seems to work for me. http://camopedia.org/images/0/0f/Czech3.jpg Added bonus a lot of sites stock gear in it - Military 1st and Epic Militaria for example.
  12. I don't like iron sights as much since a red dot gives you a clearer sight picture. But thats my personal opinion. Obviously iron sights benefit from not needing batteries to use them like red dots. A cheap sight will cost as little as £17 if you really look into it.
  13. 367 fps? Gonna need a downgrade to use it at most sites. For the price a G&G combat machine or an ICS M4 Sportline would be a wiser investment as these are known to be reliable. Not saying the asg rifle is rubbish, but without knowing more about it (i.e. what it's a rebrand of) then I would go for a more well known gun.
  14. Worth asking them. Last time I was at the towers under 18s could use goggles and a half mask as protection, but other sites may not be so lenient.
  15. I ran an army of two mask for a while as my face protection. Trust me, you'll hear it.
  16. Register for a site membership at the site on the first skirmish he goes to. Then he must play his three games (in no less than two months) before filling out the registration form for a UKARA defence and get the site to stamp/sign it to prove he is a regular skirmisher - they will have proof of his attendance in their records. Your dad will then need to send off his registration form to a UKARA registered shop so they can add it to the database. Easy enough?
  17. Allocate a lot of that money for clothing towards face and eye protection. Being under 18 most will want you to wear a full face mask like these: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/full-face-airsoft-protection/patrol-base-full-face-fencing-style-mesh-mask.htm http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=287_438&products_id=2441 But if your site is more lenient then you can get by with a pair of decent goggles and a half face mask. I don't know of any site that allows under 18s to play with just goggles/glasses. For that matter full seal goggles are a lot safer than shooting glasses as there's no risk of BBs getting into your eyes. I personally use these: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/smith-optics-elite-boogie-regulator-goggle-10085-p.asp Has vents to stop fogging and is rated to withstand impacts much higher than you'll get at an airsoft site. Like jcheeseright said: everything else is just playing dress up.
  18. Restricted fps: Nope, just painted different colours is all Do they stand out: Transparent ones aren't as bad, but the brightly painted ones definitely will. You can wrap them in camo tape though to reduce this and then remove the tape when transporting/storing the gun. Will you get picked on: Some players may be a bit snobby towards you, but the majority won't. Of course using a bright orange gun will mean you're more noticeable and draw more fire, by that's not personal.
  19. I agree with Yawns, no matter what colour the gun is it's still going to do the same job as well as a black gun. Hell sometimes two tone IFs can be found a lot cheaper than actual RIFs. Add some sniper/camo tape and no one would be the wiser to it being two tone in the first place.
  20. Nice choice on the Boogie Regulators, I have a pair myself and only had them steam up once - even then that was because someone had just chucked water at me.
  21. When I was 10: a cheap two tone red/black m9/m1911 hybrid spring pistol I got off Skeggy market for £5. Used to use it playing in the streets wih my mates who had some as well before we even thought about the concept of eye protection or whether what we were doing was legal - just being kids. First airsoft gun: a cheap Double Eagle trishot shotgun in two tone orange/black which I ended up selling to a friend. I really enjoyed it but I wanted a rifle, ironic really since I've gone back to shotguns/single shot rifles now.
  22. Replica T1 red dot sight with kill flash and lens covers (eBay) £37.99 Czech m95 pattern field parka and alice harness suspenders (epic militaria) £24.90 total Basically needed a replacement dot sight since I gave my old holographic to DEDSEC (plus it looked weird on my shotgun). The jacket and suspenders are to finish up my woodland loadout prior to my trip to MAW on Sunday.
  23. Depends on the side arm I'm running. My p226 is carried on a standard drop leg holster on my left leg. Due to it's size, my mk23 I have in a Blackhawk Stealth Weapons catch on my belt: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/blackhawk-stealth-weapons-catch-71wc00bk-7999-p.asp Absolutely brilliant bit of kit as it can also hold my ca870 shotgun securely if I ever want to run it as a sidearm.
  24. Happy

    Hi

    Welcome to the forum mate
  25. Obviously this is just my opinion based on my usage of both pistols, but I've had more issues with the glock than I have had with the mk23. The most common being the gearbox chewing itself up after a few skirmishes. Don't get me wrong, it's a great pistol for CQB or snipers who need a full auto sidearm, but the mk23 can hold it's own in both woodland and CQB whereas the glock is more suited for the later.
