So, been doing a spot of desert stylee weathering on my lad's M4 CQB (built from spares mainly!) and a more restrained version on my internally upgraded Cyma M16 (no haters please, first attempts at weathering AEG's lol!)

Edit: done with Krylon sprayed fairly thinly, then wiped off with a lint free cloth dipped in white spirit when nearly dry.

If only someone made a Mk19 GL, those TAG rounds would be epic (and insanely expensive) in something like this

Some pics of the Newton 3 x 42 night vision monocular I mentioned earlier in the thread, its a while since I'd looked at it so forgot the spec! As mentioned it was bought from Aldi for about £70 iirc a couple of years ago for general use, wildlife etc (enter crude accusations here!). Although obviously not military it is designed for "sports use", is rubber armoured and its not impossible to mount it on a ris attachment as I have done.

The last image isn't great quality as I had to hold my phone camera to the viewfinder (biggest drawback is there is no output socket/USB connection for recording), but you get the idea, thats my back garden wall which is very dark as no lights were on, not quite pitch black, with the Image intensifier switched on, which looks like a bright torch beam when viewed with the eye. The bright spot at top is a house window 150+ metres away across a field. The monocular will pick out that same house in reasonable detail so airsoft ranges would be a breeze. Field of view is fairly restricted as with any magnified scope. Without the IR on, visibility and clarity are still good, though not as good as with it on, obviously. It is fully adjustable for focus.

Some stats taken from the box:
    Visual magnification: x3
    Objective lens: 42mm
    Resolution 36 lines/mm
Angular field of view 20 degrees
    Viewing range 250m
    eyepiece adjustment; diopter +/-4
    Illuminator range 100m
    length 165mm
    width 55mm
    height 83mm
    weight 430g

Its not without drawbacks from an airsoft point of view, such as the glow from the eyepiece lighting up your face, but with ingenuity it may be possible to overcome them.
Not sure if Aldi still do these but may be worth asking if you fancy one.

I picked up a compact NV monocular (1.5mag x 32 iirc) from my local Aldi a couple of years ago, not with the specific intention for airsoft but it was only around £70. Think its Gen 2, fairly lightweight, uses ambient light and has built in infrared as well which is like turning on a torch! As it has a mounting for tripods I attached a short QD RIS mount to it and when attached to an M4 the front sight lines up with the monocular so can be used to aim, voila, night gun!
Drawbacks with this or any NV that doesn't seal around your eyes are that the green light from the image will light your face/goggles/mask up in the dark presenting a nice juicy target and the red light from the IR is fairly bright (though that can be switched off and just used briefly for an enhanced image). It is good fun to use and with an IR lazer, lens shield (and maybe a tracer unit) it would be awesome, but you wouldn't last 2 minutes in a game sadly! Will try to get pics up later.

theirs a good rof then theirs the idiot who pump out 70 rps on dual sectors pistons with teeth removed etc,but stripping piston after piston is a waste of money, time and bbs seeing as only one bb is all it needs to hit someone,i would rather spend my money on a better airseal and accuracy any day over rof

Hmmm, worrying, ah well its fair to say I've not used either company but reading their blurb MB get weekly deliveries from UNC, then send them out from their UK base, which is kinda making me think they will also try the bend over routine with double postage whammy? I'm kinda expecting my response (if I get one) to be "HOW F*##*G MUCH?!!" I don't mind paying a little extra if delivery, VAT and customs are dealt with at a stroke, not to mention effectively its being posted within the Uk. I'm not holding my breath but I will update when I get a reply. (Also mentioned this forum in the vain hope it makes them be nice lol!)

Dear old UNCompany - whose CEO must have shares in their fav courier or something because those RIF carrying fellows will receive the instruction "deliver this parcel to the customer" but will hear "bend the customer over and don't use lube"...

Hi again - yup it does have blowback which was a feature I liked, although I think it makes it a bit less gas efficient and possibly a bit more noisy - I really hadn't realised just how loud a pop these BB guns would make!!

It has adjustable hop-up which is access via the case ejection port in the slide when you pull it back to cock it - not that I've tried that yet as I've not used it too much as a bit concerned at worrying the neighbours!

The silencer work has gone well - nice little project

It's just got the paint drying at the moment and then I'll reconstruct it and post a few pics of it being made.

Unfortunately I noticed that the outer barrel of the gun which has the female thread to accept the silencer is actually NOT concentric with the bore of the inner barrel. What this actually means is that as soon as i screw the silencer into place, I can see that it actually points slightly upwards. I guess this is probably due to cheap manufacturing and poor quality control of the outer barrel. Its not my thread and silencer, as it's turned, drilled, threaded all sequentially without removal from the lathe - I couldn't really make it non-concentric even if I tried! When I put the plastic end plug back (that is fitted as standard) in the barrel I can see that it also does not seat correct and true against the end of the outer barrel. This isn't a problem at all if you don't fit a silencer, however it will mean that the BB will simply collide with the sound baffles if I tried it, since the BB is coming out level and the silencer is tilted slightly upwards. I'd imagine that it will also adversely affect the spin on the BB and probably make it super inaccurate if the BB will even make it out, so i haven't even tried it with a BB!

This is fixable as I can make an end plug and epoxy a 6mm ID sleeve within it that IS dead inline with the inner barrel, or maybe I just use the gun as it is with no silencer - I can always convert it to fit another BB gun in the future!

I'll try and get pics up this evening if I can

Welcome to the forum! Alpha55 at Halkyn near Flint (next to the A55, my local site too) is probably your nearest site, and Ex-site near Mold is another, both are woodland and can be found on tinternet and facebook. Also not far, another good site is The Manor (Zed Adventures) near Warrington which is CQB and woodland and also do Zombie themed events if that takes your fancy. There is/was a CQB site in Chester and also one near Wrexham though I don't know much about them as only heard by word of mouth, worth a search on one of the airsoft maps mentioned in threads above.
The Airsoft Shack in Buckley is worth a look (open Thurs to Sat, check out on Facebook), not a big shop but have a selection of guns including G&G usually, and Soldier of Fortune in Corwen is best local retailer in these parts for guns and gear, massive stock variety although not the cheapest, their website is well worth a look.
Most of the popular airsoft retailers have feedback on this forum, worth having a search through, bear in mind any will fall over themselves when taking your money but not all are great if something goes wrong and you need it fixed under warranty, or a refund.
    Anything else just ask away!

It would be nice if putting a scope on made our guns shoot 100m yeah!

In generic terms the Eotech style sight (your first link) would work fine, they are fairly lightweight being largely plastic compared to the ACOG style (your second link) which are generally all metal and thus heavier, and give a slightly more restricted view due to the thickness and side mounted adjustment dials etc, although imho they look better than the Eotech on an M4.

As said its all a matter of what works for you really, I'm not familiar with those specific models you linked to but can't see why either wouldn't be ok.

That's the one - the CZ75 Compact - feels quite nice - not too plastic feeling and has decent weight to it. Top slide is metal along with the necessary components, then the main body is mostly resin. I have no experience so nothing to gauge it against. The slide and barrel do have a bit of play in them, which I would imagine will affect accuracy a bit, but I'm not sure how accurate these are supposed to be?

I'll try and take some pics of the CZ75 and the parts I've been making tomorrow and post them

No you don't have to produce anything: the couriers aren't interested in the VCRA - I suspect that UK Customs probably don't bother even looking up your UKARA#, tbh, but better to be on the safe side and keep the poxy thing current. I mean, if you know that you need to comply with VCRA, which they can tell just by "UKARA# XXXXXXXX" written on the package, you probably are an airsofter anyway, right? They are busy people...

I'm assuming you have brain damage? If you can't see the difference between someone being shot in a film and people being torn apart on screen and why people might be OK watching one and not the other then I'm not sure what you will understand. As it happens the TV age ratings agree with that notion too which is surprising... Oh wait, no its not.
