If you like the Garand, then why not? It's semi auto but that just stops you from spraying ammo everywhere. I would start with a sub machine gun 1st though. The MP44 is probably quite good. The best cheapish WW2 weapon atm in terms of performance is the ASG/AGM Sten Mk2.
ASG is a distributor not a manufacturer so ASG and AGM are essentially the same.

Didn't read it all, as I got bored halfway through, but I think the gist of it is 'Hey I want to make an AKS-74U with this fancy suppressor, which stock and other bits should I use?'
I would question why you are wanting the really heavy suppressor because it looks all cool and Russian and then adding an M4 style stock? But thats just me preferring looks over function
Had you considered making a mold of the suppressor and then making one out of lighter material?
Could you fit one of these into a cut down wooden stock in some way? It would add the weight and look frickin awesome.

I wanted an SMLE, only Iron airsoft made an SMLE and it had a really bad reputation. I got one anyway and had to fix everything just to get it working. I now have a fully functioning Gas powered SMLE and expert knowledge of how everything in it works. It was pretty daunting to have to take everything apart but with guides on the internet and a bit of patience it becomes easy.

I would buy an ASG Sten Mk2 but it's not a gun that suits most people and wouldn't be ideal as your only gun.
What is most important is really that you have the gun you want. If the gun you really want is only made by one company and they have bad reviews, I would still get that gun. Everything can be sorted out except not having the gun you really want.

I cycle. This is my baby:
It's a 1967 Royal Enfield Revelation. They are rare and unusual small wheeled bikes. I bought mine for £50-ish off ebay and it was a state. I had it repainted and rebuilt it with modern hub gears and hub brakes, skinny wheels and mudguards made out of laminated balsa and oak veneer. I then rode it from John 'O' Groats back to Bristol. I have 2 other bikes. There is however one more I would love to add to the collection...

As some of you may have realised, I am more into WW2 airsoft. WW2 airsoft involves slightly more travel to get to games and I don't have a car anymore. I therefore need a bike that can carry a rifle and all my airsoft gear, plus camping gear. If it could then be used in the games as well and fit the period that would be awesome.

The BSA Parabike. It's a folding full sized bicycle, designed to be dropped by parachute or strapped to vehicles and you can add various kit carrying accessories, such as a rifle rack, frame bag for carrying your kit and a front rack designed to carry ammo crates to the front lines. I sooo want one

Any second now, someone will suggest a G&G combat machine. Ist decide what sort of gun you would like, if it's an M4 then G&G combat machine. But if you want something other than an M4, tell us what your dream gun would be and we can then make suggestions

I would avoid the paintball mask and go for a pair of mesh goggles and a mesh lower face mask. Mesh doesn't fog up and if you get thirsty, you cannot drink in a full face mask. Also it looks like it would reduce headwear options.
Take a look at some cheap camo gear here: http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk/shop/special-offers.html

A good way to start is a set of DPM, boonie hat, gloves, a scrim scarf or shemagh (to protect your neck), good boots and a cheap tactical vest.
This is how I started, but these days I go for a more old school look

I do mainly WW2 gear now and I have to say that Webbing seems to be rather underappreciated in airsoft circles. Webbing is a very viable alternative to the tactical vest. A set of '58 pattern webbing will cost around £10-15 and will carry everything a tactical vest will but won't act as an additional layer of clothing to make you hot. '58 pattern seems to be the cheapest at present, newer PLCE stuff would cost £25+ and my '37 pattern webbing cost me £30. If you want the benefits of both, consider a molle belt and support straps or a simple chest rig.

Ask yourself this: What is your favourite war film, war based computer game or whatever? This simple question is quite often the basis of peoples 1st loadout. This tends to be expensive, so your best bet might be to get some army surplus gear, dpm is cheap and works well.

I have one of these, they are pretty good. It chronos around 335 with a 0.2g bb and is pretty accurate. No blowback on it though and it's pretty big if you have small hands.

I agree that the G&G combat machine range is good.

Couple of other ideas though: If you currently have an MP5K, what about an MP5? That way you can use the same magazines and everything will be where you are used to finding it (fire selector etc).

The G&G top tech ones come fully upgraded internally or theres a combat machine version. JG, Classic army etc all make very similar quality ones at reasonable prices which you can customise to your needs. ICS MP5's are pretty good, the downside is they are a bit picky about which mags they will work with.
My other idea was maybe an M14? You have an MP5K for close quarters, why not get a proper rifle?

Don't rush into it. Takes a bit of work to get it working correctly, I have fixed the leaks on the mag, adjusted the firing pin spring tension to get more consistent shooting and just need to get the fill valve working better. Soo much fun to shoot though and the 15" bayonet I have for it raises a few eyebrows. I have skirmished it once, comments from my team indicate that when I did a bayonet charge, it scared the crap out of them (the actual comment was, 'we actually thought you were going to kill someone').
Still at £245 delivered, including tax and customs fees its a real bargain.

Iron Airsoft Lee Enfield No. 1 MkIII*

Reason: Just look at it!! I got told off by a marshall on my last skirmish 'cos my gun was too pretty to skirmish with. I took Matilda (my one of these) to a re-enactment event, even re-enactors were in awe.
