I think people need to know exactly what a "codsofter" is
 
They are not necessarily (although usually are) new players and they are not elitists, in the traditional sense of the word
 
They are basically usually younger players, who have played CoD and then have decided to go out and play airsoft without reading much about it and then think because they played CoD they are suddenly all knowledgeable and think everything works like it does in CoD, so they go around being obnoxious and doing things like no scoping, blind firing and generally thinking they'll be as good in airsoft as they are in the game and anyone who beats them must be "hacking"
 
They are not by any means common and many people join the sport are perfectly few, its just a small minority who happen to do it

Since I've only had to deal with a "codsofter" once, I'm led to believe it's not the fault of the person - just a lack of knowledge all of us regulars take for granted.
 
Case in point: A young lad turned up with a double eagle g36c rifle and kept calling people cheats because they were hitting him but he couldn't hit them despite having "really good aim" in his own words.
 
He proved he was willing to learn when I took him aside and explained why his rifle was the problem and not his aiming - as politely as possible as I can't stand people who shout "call your hits" as much as I can't stand people who don't call hits. Gave him my back up rifle to borrow and he actually became quite a useful player - was crazily brave once he realised his shots were actually now hitting people. End of the day him and his mum thanked me as it saved him from spoiling his day by leaving early due to not having fun.
 
Like others have said it's down to us regular players to tolerate this (to a degree) and help them integrate themselves into the hobby. The younger players will help expand our hobby and make it a lot better for us all in the long run. Obvious cheating though like "last stand"/"body armour" should be actively discouraged for everyone's sake.

Was going for a SEAL-ish look to blend in with the rest of the guys there, didn't stand out like too much of a sore thumb (with the exception of being the only one without a helmet!).

I've tried those wireless PTT's - looks like it will be excellent but the 2 that have arrived from an HK fleabayer didn't work! Need to get my money back and order from airsoft peak.

seconding Jcheese' suggestion .Its all probably machining fluid & anti oxidization crap left in after the factory.
 
If it is really dirty I'd wash the hop up bucking too.
 
Take the barrel & bucking out of the hop up unit. With the barrel,get some cigarette filters/cloth/whatever and dip it in isopryl alcohol and run it through until clean. Then let it dry and run a dry cloth through it again.
 
For the bucking,add some fairy liquid to a cup of water and drop it in. Leave it for about 10 minutes and let it air dry.

use a cigarette filter tip soaked in meths, run it through a couple of times, change it for a dry one... if it's still not clean do it again. Rinse and repeat until the barrel runs through clean.
 
the chances of it being gearbox grease are slim, it's more likely just the crap that came in it from the factory.

I have no issues with people who get into airsoft because they enjoy games like COD, but I do have a problem with the annoying kids who doesn't take their hits because "I have Juggernaut perk on"

Have access to cnc and manual lathe and mill. Autoclave. Minor rapid prototype... And working with carbon isn't an issue.
 
The rifle would be a better designed SL9 based on an M4 build... Same disassembly, etc. Thankfully the workings are all self contained, so once they are bedded in, the rest is pretty simple... I'm liking the cosplay idea... Would be helpful to get your mould... Good call!

Try these quick pouches. The mag literally just slides in and out and holds tight! I've never had a mag fall out. Plus they are much quieter then pulling Velcro open!
They look great on a belt if your looking for a lightweight type of loadout. At £12 a pair you will struggle to find anything cheaper.

I run these for my scar h (6 pouches/3 pairs £36 is cheap as chips)

Any 7.62 pouch will fit it.
SR25, HK417, M14 etc.
There will be no set pouch for just a Scar H as the size is simmilar to most others of the same calibre.

That's a fairly big & difficult task. What tools do you have access to. Mills? CNC mills? lathes? any sort of injection molding or powder metallurgy equipment? Hell,if you have the skill you can even make a mini-foundry and sand cast the thing.
 
Look up some forum threads on how cosplay enthusiasts build replica weapon bodies with various plastics,and how to work with carbon fiber. I'd say carbon fiber is not a very realistic option,that stuff is expensive and hard to work with on an amateur level,AFIAK one guy made a spartan laser replica and had a very good guide on how he made it. Started off as a body of glued ABS reinforced with many many sheets and layers of fiberglass.

What sort of body do you have in mind? CAD drawings or any sort of manufacturing/design drawings are a must.
 
It is not impossible-it has been done before. Just saying it is a very big task to undertake.

To be honest, I don't think that Mark (Jambwow) understands the law.

For a camera that retails at £350 with no mounts, it was a damn good deal!
 
For the £250 I got the camera, wifi controller, headband mount, three sticky surface mounts, a stick mount (pole to attach camera to), handlebar mount, surfboard mount, a waterproof (diving) housing and the normal housing.
It was a good package, especially for people who do water sports.

Ebay - Second hand Contour Roam 2's, they do everything a gopro do, look cooler but have slightly less quality standards. My friend got one for £50.

Used the EGLM at Anzio on Saturday. Was amazing! Got 2 kills (one of which has been immortalized on my friends camera) and it turned many heads.
