its not the winding mechanism, it’s the gear which sits on top of it. the amazon seller (where I ordered it) is being as much help as chocolate fire guard, AW are also not being much help. I cannot find any off them for sale anywhere. looks like I have a right turd

There will be a hop arm in a month or so … if not I’ll have a go at designing one (cannot be as bad as that mk23 arm I had metal 3d printed 🤣)

I must have seen a totally different review to you, i though he liked it overall, and was impressed with the performance, he even highlighted the trigger for its crispness. Also check out the grin he gives after the mag dump in the short vid he put up, yesterday iirc. the end of the receiver is like that to reinforce and support the plastic stock…. It actually very well thought out and I believe it’s removable (according to the break down pics in the manual) In other news … took mine to a game day today (first game back for a long time), gun performed well but it needs a better hop arm, and a npas, as I had to drop down to 0.25’s to get my FPS legal etc. Also you NEED the Tm speed loader, I am not joking, I tried 4 different ones and I just couldn’t get it to load (might have been me though I am abit rusty these days 🤣). Lots of people was wanting a go, general opinion is, fake wood looks better in real life, it kicks slightly harder then a mws, range seems ok on 0.25’s but it needs a hop arm etc.

Finally at a game day, filled up my drum mag …. Went to wind it …. Nothing happened unloaded it, fresh bb’s etc … still won’t wind, winder just spins stripped it … outer looks ok …. ah! … that missing gear on the winder … that’ll do it 😵‍💫😞

I have always had luck with my WE g18c …. Just don’t full auto like a loon and they are fine

bespoke airsoft has a vid where he cuts them down to 1” long … but if you have gen2 mags I am told it’s not needed 🤷‍♂️

I was thinking it was gunna be mws style too, I had it all planned out with a super nub 😞 I guess it’s different as the mws has quite the unusual arrangement with the hop, where as the AK, is simple by comparison The barrel, it’s approximately 220 - 230’ish mm from the tip of the outer barrel to the inner

Yeah but not side to side (on the hop patch), more up and down … I figure it’s just a moulding tolerance where the hop arm sits inside the hop wheel

Some interesting discoveries today The inner barrel is only 200mm long and the hop is an arm design (sorry about the crappy pic, it’s really had to get a decent pic as both the arm and the hop unit are black metal) I am gunna wait for a better upgrade as it’s a bit loose for my liking also for those who cannot live with out an optic (as there is no traditional ak side optic mount) I have a solution a cheap £13 rear sight picatinny rail off amazon 😎👍

I honestly don’t know why people are getting hung up on it not being a steel receiver. historically TM never made metal body guns or is it just trib’ism? I don’t mean to offend just wondering. I wouldn’t get too hung up over the externals in 6months there will be various wood/body kits etc. What we should be doing is celebrating a new rif that isn’t another M4 or variation etc 😝😝 (FYI I like m4’s … there is just soooo many off them)

Greetings comrades, and welcome to the TM AKM thread. The glorious AKM has now been reproduced as an airsoft gbbr. This is a highly realistic gbbr (not that I have handled an ak mind), and thus is doesn’t have a bolt lock feature… no after the last bb, you get the dead mans click (hammer falls but no other action), just as our glorious solialist motherland demanded. it also has a highly fiddley dry fire mode … I’ll explained it later. other wise function wise it’s just like a aeg ak. first issue I have found is the humongous gas tube …. It’s longer than a cricket test match! this limits the amount of gas that you can hold in the mag (about 5seconds worth of green gas) but there is a simple solution, just like our enemy Yankee brotheren… cut the tube in half and you vastly increased the amount of dissidents you can send to Stalin per fill (15s fil =70+ semi shots before cool down) highly recommended film :- AK-47 Kalashnikov

Well I cut my gas tubes in half (64mm removed), it now holds a lot more (up from +/- 5s to 15+s) gas semi shot count is also up massively (was 30-40 to 80+Before cooldown/tail off) very happy now 😎

i 3d printed the adapter, and also a front barrel stabiliser (I snapped one, 70% infil petg) FYI I have the armour works drum mag and it fits all mine … I did have to file down the AA flailed mag well mind

Ok so I may be an AAP-01 addict (and I have bits on the way to build another one 🤣)

Just have to refil the mag more often, and might not get all the bb’s out before your out of gas (if your giving it lots of full auto)

Just a quick FYI for new AKM owners … your gunna have to cut down the gas tube …. It’s quite a monster!! 😱😱😱😱

Just picked up this bad boy TM MWS AKM it feels so solid, sounds great, really accurate (only tested on a short range) …. Now too see if it needs a super nub 😎
