Out of interest anyone successfully use smartphones connected to headsets for airsoft purposes? I know likely an issue that remote sites lacking in signal etc but have a few spare smartphones I'm considering doing such with

I loves my Shotguns. Iv a couple atm. A gfg or some such which is beast and a tm that I picked up second hand. Had a few others. And iv done the mad thing and broke one down and reassembled. For springers to isn't worth it and I can't see any internal betterment in them. The donor gun that supplied parts(a broken one I got in a box ) had far better internals. So really if going spring get what you love the most for the money. I'm a big fan of Trichet singles not so much but technically they could be equivalent to snipers.... Sure on a long day they may kill your arms but totally worth it. Iv had all three shots go around people and they surrender straight away... it can be a bit annoying at range but if you have the central barrel on sights you can do it. Mostly it's about playstyle. Know where you are wasting shots and where they count. Also get tm shells if you can(depending on shotty) they do feed better than most and is the reason I bought the broken tm second hand because it had a lot of tm shells and I was able to"fix" it... think I need to rebuild it again iirc...

Plenty of different ways to do good camouflage. If you arnt sure you can practice on some cardboard if you don't have a spare rf or even nerf gun. There's a few really good threads here for ideas too. If you want something uniquish consider a few marks or such linking to nicknames or preferred movies... if your nickname is a nod to starwars plenty in it! It's pretty easy to do but I suggest having a idea or rough plan in advance. Know what or if anything will move on your rf. Places where pain will wear consider if you will mind that or would rather it plain black (so taped up from start)or if you want to protect it(varnish) and if aging is something you'd want to do. Plan in head paints- iv used Halford a fair bit too. Probably the best easiest place for spray paints in the country too. I'd suggest 3 colours if going camouflage. Consider if you want to undercoat(I don't on rifs as I accept they will scratch back to black)Try not to get 3 browns unless going for desert scheme. If colours are too similar the effects will get a bit lost. Whilst there you probably want to get masking tape. Make sure to do a good clean... especially for oil residue. Some will say to break down gun to paint. This is your call. Get every crevice vs getting camouflage to line up... breaking down also means more taping. Tape anything that should not get paint in... nozels feed Chambers etc. Then what you want to tape(ie trigger trades lenses sights etc. )also it can be a good idea to use the stock colour of gun as an extra colour. When doing tiger stripe camouflage on my Aug and shotty I used the natural colours where possible and just implemented stripes straight away. I also tore the edges off the tape to get a more rough natural shape but depending if you want more modern straight-line use as need. Give the paint time between coats of colours and plan how you can turn it without putting hand in wet paint. I hang mine from wire from rafters in roofspace. You can also use leaves against rifle to get cool effects if aiming for woodlands but I'd do that only really on the top colour personally. If when you strip off the tape and such and paints have bled you can touch up with paint brush and spraying the areola into their own lids. Just keep it thin. As I say if not sure practice on something first. There's loads of video and pics out there to give ideas. Will see if can get a few pics of mine later.

As someone who usually brings a few guns as well as my sidearm the only time I use it much really is when I use my shotgun(so limited mags and short range anyway) and then I always feel so clumsy trying to use it in the wrong situation. Plus I have dropped it and done stupid stuff soo many times. Tbh I'd say for anyone to go play 3/times before considering a sidearm. You will generally do far more with a main... then again side arms are fun so long term likely will get a few lol.

Are you thinking like a camouflage or like aged/post apocalyptic heavy used look or any specific direction? If cam then do you wear a camouflage ud like to match?
-
Yeah I pop up a few times in that video... my team was defending the morning sickness missed most of the video stuff... but we won so worth it... am thinking I may do some hazard stripes and such but not quite set on what where...

So rather than start a new thread... apparently there's more games comming so rather than a new loadout I want to keep working on this one when I get a chance. This time I'll work more on the m4 more but not sure what exactly I should do. Any thought/ suggestions?

Ah my local then. Might be worth asking chris to have a gander at it if he's taking any guns in atm. Does sound barrel is the issue.

Welcome. If you are into milsim and such check out from they have a large site and run a few such events(not my cup of tea mind)
-
Welcome lads. Aye covid has pretty wrecked this year for us. Any of you interested frv has started a post apocalyptic series of games called the void. The mill are great hopefully a good direction for gaming in the country as they now have several sites they own or are allied with or such but they are making a better business set up and driving professionalism from what iv seen (a few sites seem to have been letting things slide) There's also cap or combat airsoft portadown that I know is run by alot of the old green zone crew so I'd expect it to be good but it's advertising ain't great

What make of bbs are you using? Is there anything that could be scratching bbs enroute like the inside barrel end having been cut badly with hacksaw. Possible may need a new barrel... worth checking out the hopunit too. Also welcome. Where in ni you playing? I'm outside portadown so have a few sites

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but AFAIK in the Republic it can be seen as an offence to have accurate Irish gear. No issue for you mainlanders but I was warned about being careful in selling my Aug at one point...

Cheers! Will get a few pics of individual components of the load out. Much of it only came together in the last few days. This was for a site near me in Northern Ireland called frv. The came was called the void. Its the first in their post apocalyptic series. As far as I know its Northern Ireland first. Seems to be quite a few quite big events in England. Zombie ones seem to be the opener for most. But anyway... this was set 10 years post nuclear war. Supposed to be no common or plate carriers etc. We had logos for teams and pretty basic info. The team I picked the Eastern Isle trading company make me think of East India trade co... made me think minute men from fallout... trench coat didn't fit so cut sleeves off. Found a hat. Weathered everything. Boom. Also watched a bunch of videos on such. Mostly a guy called nuclear snail... I did enjoy the games much as definitely was a few issues with rules and communication but 90%of my team went to effort on costume and I definitely enjoyed that aspect. I came 3rd in the costume contest too. Only nets me a bayonet but its just as nice s bit of recognition. Have also set up a group as a result to try and build a community in ni and maby get some movement with it. Also seemed yo irritate geardos which I love doing lol

Sorry for lack of updates but game was on Sunday past so pics inbound. Most pics courtesy of frv airsoft

Slow and steady... most of Tommy paint job done. Not sure if stock will work but will focus on the rest of its build and assembly then unifying the wear. Goggles painted and wear applied to look like aged brass. Hat wear started. Much to do to it. Lower face started. Alot to go on it but first attempt to make from scratch. Old material soaked in woodglue and stretched over a chepo plastic one. Once set pealed off. Alot to add to get it looking more apoc but is on the way. My old trenchcoat doesn't fit(damm you lockdown) so I need to either fix it or find another... charity shops beware...

Wire wrap around grip added over gearbox and taped up(should be enough layers to protect the gearbox. Made and added tin can suppressor. Seems to sit pretty nicely. Not sure on the handguard if it going to work. Have thoughts of cutting up some form of deodorant can and bolting it on if it doesn't work...

It will likely get worse... armour and such i will eventually get if this community keeps these games going. Thinking mish mash armour and possibly some home made cloth and glue armour. Going to try a face mask out of it... Updates. Cut stock to length but need yo shape it and fill so I dont cut my hand off... Playing with flash hider as the original was glued and it has no ccw so cut up a spare m4 one and plan to wrap it in a cut up tin can... scope done for now. Removed all glass and taped it up and inserted pins as a form of crosshair that I likely won't use. But looks the part. May rig some form of iron sight.

Cheers! For belts iv a load of them as have had my family collecting them for years as I was making medieval style Sheila's and they great for making grips. My dremmel is going to have its work cut out.... thinking some form of chest piece armour a belt for pistol mag and ccw. Trench coat if it still fits will do the most. Waiting to see the gang symbols so I can figure direction for head gear... much to do but least I can start on gun lol

Signed up for an apoc game. May get cancelled but sure ima try an apoc load out anyway. So tonight started on my Tommy. Took all the plastic wood furniture. Started trying bits and pieces to see what can work. And currently come up with this... Obviously keeping my drummag. Batteries into foregrip from my mp5. Will be painted to look like some form of fuel canister and taped on. Old single binoc for a sight( have much yo do on that but likely cable tied on.) M4 raised front sight and possible that front d grip thing... Stock is actually an old shower head bar holder... Will be cut down and bolted on. Grip I've taped up and thinking to wrap in extra cables and tape over further to look botched Power cables will be external and taped up to look extra sci-fi. Thoughts sofar? Much will likely fail change etc. Am trying yo get everything to look and be temporary. Will also probably repaint my m4 as a backup anyway. Probably my pistols too... plus have to sort clothes and belts etc. Awaiting more info on the gangs to start those...

well its the reason i agreed to this house, i needed somewhere for me lol fortunately i not a huge buyer but then i dont really sell much on. only want a few more rifs then will replace to better guns but i financially limit myself quite a lot so it should be grand. more problematic is multiple hobbies...
-
My oldest rif my Tommy. King Arms one do metal with plastic effect wood. I do intend to start work soon on making real wood furniture for both period and post apoc that will be interchangeable. May pick up an American helm at some point as seen a few really cheap in antique shops. Then again I'm more likely to end up captain America than doing realism so who knows...

Probably going to be on this wall from the map/st pats cross to the Senegalese flag ( yes its a mess but still lots to do in many directions. Only my sword wall is looking remotely close) need space to fit a few more tables for tinkering and painting but have good space to figure it out
-
Recently moved(as soon as lockdown allowed) and have the roofspace as a mancave. Planning to put in a Gunwalloe or something to display my rifs. Anyone got a display wall that can show pics for inspiration As I consider insulation etc too...
-
see better off without the dramatic players then lol
-
that would be very cool... considering getting out my resident evil stuff... coronovirus and such... suppose i could stretch to a guard one at some point
