Hi all, I've even mulling over a 726 AR style build but for cqb. It's mostly a cosmetic thing as I like the look and feel of the bigger 762 style mags, especially when coupled with small AR style platforms. Can anyone recommend a small, AR style platform that I can work with? I'm not interested in hk417's or Scar H. Thanks

2 for worst: 1. Hfc Sig 226. Absolutely shocking. Plinked in the garden a few times and was OK (no more than 50 - 60 rounds). Took it to first event as my sidearm and it got through around 6 rounds mid game before it vented all gas. Took apart when home and the hammer mech had snapped (hammer still attached but the release had snapped). 2. Well MP7 Aep, so low power and low range. There some upgrades but in my opinion not worth doing as the end result is still low power and low range. That said, managed to get a few kills with it at Anzio on my first day there when my primary fired over on the chrono (was new to the hobby and put a 363mm inner barrel in the 200mm classic army ump; chrono went from 320 to 365!!) Best: Cop out answer but TM NGRS series. Scar L was the gateway into the series and I haven't looked back since. Honourable mention: Tm FN57 - ran for years without cracking, even on green gas. Awesome out of the box, made better with aftermarket body kits.

I opt for aeg recoils (granted you don't get the same bump as from a gbb but there's a slight recoil and if you use tm ngrs you get bolt stops and no firing on empty for some realism). I prefer the reliability in cold weather. I keep gbb for sidearm only. That said, mp9 gbb is fun for cqb when it's warm enough!

If your willing to travel to Stoke, there's a new cqb site in Hanley ran by west mids airsoft. Think it's called the seige project. There's also Anzio Camp at Leek, great FIBUA site. Then there frontier airsoft in Penkridge just off the a449 near Jcr 13 M6. Stormforce in Rugeley is good too. I think there's one in Madeley too but I don't know who runs it or if it's still going.

+1 for the TM NGRS series. I have owned the 416d, m4 cqbr, scar h and scar l. They have all performed flawlessly out of the box. My scars remained untouched apart from tight bore barrels to squeeze a few more fps. The 416 and m4 have had uprated springs and gear sets (done by firesupport) and they are brilliant. It might seem fanboyish but TM recoils really are great.

You could go for a TM G17 for now and then if you want to, upgrade the slide to an aftermarket "metal" slide. I asked @rocketdogbert to build one for me from a tm base and it is by far the best looking and most satisfying out of my pistols by far. Full trades, metal slide, great performance.

Thanks for the reply Rocket. Would you say the eye relief is comparable the elcan spectre sights?

Hi all, Was wondering if anyone has taken a punt on the Chinese copy spitfire x5 optics on ali express? I keep seeing this and getting tempting. There are an annoyingly small amount of reviews on them. Was wondering if anyone has tried them and if they are worth the £100+ price? https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0rnVBC Thanks in advance and Happy New Year all!!!

Newbie in Tamworth area looking for help
THE FNG replied to Strikehard1147's topic in New Players & Arrivals
Hi mate, theres a site in Rugeley called Stormforce & another in Penkridge called Frontier. They will be the closest to you in Staffs; not sure what's over in Warwickshire. Theres one in Wolverhampton owned by Ace Airsoft too. -
I did it with my specna arms mk18 rail. It fits well, barrel is slightly off centre to one side but not a huge amount Going to test fire tomorrow and see how it shoots then possibly tinker with some shimming
-
TM cqbr owners: im aftermarket rails that people can recommend that dont require major mods? Ideally after a mk18 but will view all rails
-
Sorry to quote/pester you again; Does the stock gas tube come away from the gas block? I'm debating wether to try and swap out the cqbr rail for my specna arms mk18 dd rail or go for a replacement low profile gas block which if the gas block comes away from the silver gas line, I could possibly swap out without a complete rail system and outer barrel dissaembley. Edit for grammar
-
Internally its staying as it is. Only changes will be external which shouldn't affect performance
-
Yea I probably should have guessed that. Theres only 1 way to find out i guess

Hi all, I've got a TM ngrs cqbr coming in the post soon. I've never owned an m4 with the front triangle sight. Can this simply be removed or does it have to stay to make up part of the barrel assembley? Cheers
-
Some places offer these for a tenner. Most I've seen one are 25 plus postage. Dreamer

Thanks for the advice ? I have some iron sights that came with it; not sure if they are originals or not; it's a carey handle rear sight and a small quick release front post. Dont have the grip unfortunately.

Hi all, I'm looking to get appraised my G&P LMT M4. It will come with a we/nuprol spectre w/dr sight (not pictured, the we one has no trades), no mags (due to mag sharing with several other rifs and no battery (same as mags). No original box. I bought it second hand from a seller on here at the start of lockdown as I wanted an m4 (I had gone my whole time airsofting without owning an m4, apart from an ares honey badger!) Due to covid, personal circs and having a kid, it hasn't been used by myself other than garden plinking; I've put about 300-400 rounds max ( basically 3 or 4 mid caps. As far as I'm aware, its stock, apart from the motor; I installed an shs high torque as the gears were a bit whiney and I thought the motor was struggling with the spring (possible indication it has had work done but this wasnt bought to my attention by the seller). The new motor has made the whiney gears less teeth clenching but it's still noticable when you shoot it, but less when someone else is shooting it. IIRC, chrono was 325-335 or thereabouts. Externally, very nice and good condition with the expected little scuffs here and there where it has been used previously. The stock doesnt appear to be factory, rather aftermarket, but it's not one that I know of. As far as I'm aware, these retail around 380 - 400+ from a quick google search. Would 250 posted be acceptable without the optic, 290 with the optic?

The " What's Your Best / Worst Ever Purchase? " Thread
THE FNG replied to AirsoftTed's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Best: TM Scars. I have bought so many guns since them and they always end up being go to. Bought them around the time they were first released, made zero mods and they get me though my games with no issue. Worst: hands down worst was an M9 by HFC. Took it to my first event and it got 3 rounds off before it vented completely. Took it back to safe zone, re gassed and went into the next game but it didnt even get a single round out as the trigger bar snapped. Absolute dog shit gun. Close second was my Well MP7. No power, no range. I'm proud to say that I got a few kills with it at Anzio Camp as I had to run it as my primary once because my UMP was running too close to 350fps on the chrono and they warned me with bans if I shot over in a mid game chrono. -
TM NGRS. Have a look at their 416, m4 and mk18 if you like AR style platform. No need to upgrade until something breaks.
-
I got a specna dd mk18 a few months ago. It feels and looks nice, isnt too heavy and feels good in general. It does the job for me; I'm yet to skirmish it but I have put a good thousand or 2 rounds through it in the garden and it shoots ok, not as good as say my tm scar but it hits a small square target (around 20cm by 20cm) at 20-30 feet every time with an average grouping. No mods, just a zero'd optic and the hop set.

Anyone seen these cloned, real, holographic, sights ?
THE FNG replied to a topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I've bought several optics from aliexpress over the past 2 years or so. I've bought: x2 eotech 558 clones A sig romeo 5 clone An aimpoint T1 clone A flip up rds X2 Trijicon RMR sights A trijicon SRO sight Plus bought several clone accessories such as surefire torches, unity mounts and buttons etc. I have to say I have been impressed by a lot of the kit. It certainly isnt up to standard of reel steel but it will do nicely for airsoft. Most of the stuff comes with the "real steel" markings that some optics over here dont. I dont think the rmr/sro would hold up on pistol slides; I reckon the blowback would kill them within a few games. As some others have said, you are getting what you pay for....although I would certainly buy more of these over brands like nuprol for example. Edit: the most expensive of the above was the sig romeo, around £40 after tax, shipping etc -
@rocketdogbert Might be one for you
