  1. Oh shit! That is bad. I will try to find the data from some tests that we did a few years ago.
  2. Sites traditionally use 0.20g as the standard; however, the law does not, it uses energy, so if they can make your full auto capable weapon shoot at over 1.3J you have a big problem.
  3. Yes, as the law only mentions energy, if the police were so minded they could take your full auto capable airsoft gun that shoots at, for example, 1.14J when chrono'd on a 0.2g BB, load it up with the heaviest BBs that they can find and, if it now shoots at over 1.3J, you are potentially in very deep shit. The FPS figures that UKAPU give are only valid for 0.20g BBs and, as such, pretty meaningless. As far as the law is concerned, energy is the only thing that matters.
  4. That is UKAPU's statement, not the law; what I quoted IS the law. Nuprol...
  5. The law does not mention weight, only energy: The permitted kinetic energy level is— (a)in the case of a weapon which is capable of discharging two or more missiles successively without repeated pressure on the trigger, 1.3 joules; (b)in any other case, 2.5 joules.” Indeed; I just put it down to...humans.
  6. A simple table showing the equivalent FPS at different BB weights for sites that have limits of 350FPS and 360FPS on a 0.20g BB; numbers are rounded down. The issue is that sites just want to get chronoing done as quickly as possible so do not want to spend time changing the BB weight setting on the chrono; in addition, most marshals that I worked with or have seen do not know how to.
  7. They do; however, most won't because sticking some 0.20g BBs in a mag and checking the FPS is quick and easy, whereas resetting the chrono for whatever weight BBs the player is using (assuming they are telling the truth) takes time and effort. The reasonable middle ground is to still work in FPS but to have a chart which shows the site FPS limits for different weights. Same with Ultimate Wargames, who I never saw chrono any weapon. On one occasion I asked to use the site chrono to check my pistol; they did not have one. This is also the site where, between games, they placed all weapons on the ground and then took off eye pro in the playing area. That was great until late arriving players suddenly appeared, weapons in hand and safeties off. Add to that allowing a player to walk around in the safe zone with a TM Scorpion slung over his shoulder with the mag in even after it was pointed out to them.
  8. Because the quoted FPS limit is with a 0.20g BB. Your site's limit is 1.14j, which is equivalent to 350 FPS on a 0.20g BB or 313 FPS on a 0.25g BB. As kinetic energy = 0.5 x mass x velocity x velocity, a heavier BB will have more energy at the same speed as a lighter BB. Your upgrades have probably improved the air seal, resulting in an energy increase. Raining horses? That is heavy rain. I am just frequently amazed at how little many airsofters seem to know about what most would regard as the basics.
  9. I am utterly staggered that you are baffled by this. Do you really expect that a 0.25g BB travelling at 320fps would have the same energy as a 0.20g BB travelling at the same velocity? Where sites specify an FPS limit, they nearly always refer to the FPS on 0.20g BBs. As to how you can remedy it, fit a less powerful spring.

I have messaged you; any chance of a reply?
  11. What power is the spring? What motor is it? Maybe open it up and check the shimming; if that is ok, reassemble it without the piston, spring and ARL and try running it with the motor. I do wonder whether Shamal has sussed it; it does sound like it could be reversed polarity.
  12. It is the same hop as they use in their Scar-L: https://www.titano-store.com/en/c/airsoft-c28617/rifles-internal-spare-parts-c28847/hop-up-c28962/hop-up-chamber-scar-l-classic-army-p433m-p909683
  13. A video of the gearbox cycling in semi and full auto would probably help us help you. When you opened up the gearbox, did you take a look at the teeth on the piston? Did they look worn or damaged?
  14. I live in hope that you might change; I am an eternal optimist.
  15. It is not about liking or disliking you; I don't know you anywhere near well enough to know whether I like or dislike you. However, your posts give an impression of you that forms my view of you as a person.
  16. What Shamal said was "I don't know of any gun club guns that have been used in school shootings." Hamilton carried out a school shooting with the pistols that he used at his gun club. If Shamal wants to argue around that, he can try.
  17. Thomas Hamilton was a member of the Stirling Rifle and Pistol Club for nine years before he took his four legally owned pistols and killed sixteen 5 and 6 year old children and a teacher. So yes, guns used at a gun club were used by a gun club shooter in a school shooting. Before going off and shooting a bunch of little kids, Hamilton was probably what you would describe as a responsible legitimate owner. Even by your very low standards, that post was cuntish.
  18. CCE trousers and cap to go with the shirt that I have had for a while, because I really need another set of camo. 🤪 Also an M16A2 front end and stock.
  19. Welcome aboard. My lads started playing with me when they were 10 and 12. The eldest only plays very rarely now as he has real weapons and a bunch of EOD sappers to keep him occupied. The youngest is still playing but is off to university this month so airsoft will be on hold for him until he gets somewhere to store his gear and learns to drive; we will be playing together again when he returns for the Christmas vacation.
  20. I miss two sites. The first is UCAP Sandpit; as others have mentioned, this site had everything: CQB, wide open spaces, areas with loads of cover, the pipeyard, vehicles etc etc. A massive site with great gameplay. The other is Doomsday in Kent; it was a small, scruffy and very laid back site that was superbly run by people who understood the absurdity of grown men running around shooting each other with toy guns. Although rather small, it always felt bigger (ooer missus!) due to the layout and the varied terrain. They also did the best veggie food in airsoft.
  21. Use it for a while and work out what you want to improve. Then ask what people recommend to meet your requirements.
  22. No, that was for another gun that needs to be brought back to life:). Apologies all; I have been walking and wild camping on Dartmoor since that last post and have not had access online. I have no idea what the issue was; I stripped the gearbox and ZCI hop down again, checked everything, reassembled it and, whizzo! 320FPS! Dartmoor was fun; we found a rather large tag round.
